This guide covers all of the World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth Skinning additions and changes.
Patch 8.3
Eligible players can now skin a corpse without waiting for all other eligible players to collect their loot.
Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara
Skinning is getting a small update for Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara
New skill level cap of 175 for Zandalari and Kul Tiran Skinning
New skins:

are new materials that players with the skinning profession can skin off creatures in
纳沙塔尔
and can be collected at any skill level. Your efficiency of collecting
浚皮
and
壁鳞
is increased based on your skill rank. The first rank can be learned when you reach skill level 140 in Zandalari or Kul Tiran Skinning.

Battle for Azeroth Changes
The Skinning skill is split by faction, Kul Tiran Skinning for Alliance and Zandalari Skinning for Horde.
The maximum profession skill levels have been lowered for each profession tier:
Classic professions have a maximum of 300.
Outland, Northrend, Cataclysm, and Pandaria professions have a maximum of 75.
Draenor and Legion professions have a maximum of 100.
Battle for Azeroth professions have a maximum of 150.
Learning Skinning
Battle for Azeroth Skinning is split by faction, Kul Tiran Skinning for Alliance and Zandalari Skinning for Horde, and can be learned for 50 gold from the respective Skinning trainers for each faction.

If you ever have trouble finding your profession trainers, you can always ask a city guard for directions. This will place a marker on your map at the NPC's location.
In Battle for Azeroth, the ranking system is still present, each increased rank allowing you to gather effectively.
Leveling Skinning
You can level your Skinning skill by simply skinning beasts you kill across Kul Tiras and Zandalar. The type of beast you skin will determine which types of reagents you gather from them. It is wise to pick up Skinning early on if you plan to, as you can skin while doing quests to level your character to 120.
New Skinning Reagents
Battle for Azeroth has all new reagents you can gather from skinning.
Leather:

钙化之骨
These reagents are found by skinning beasts found across Kul Tiras and Zandalar. Skinning beasts you have slain gives different reagents depending on the type of beast. Ones with fur or skin will give leather, while scaled beasts will give different types of scales. All types of beasts can give bones.
Battle for Azeroth has also introduced something called the Scrapper. These machines can be found near the Master Scrapper NPCs

. Scrapping gear destroys the items, but gives you reagents in return. It is similar to disenchanting, except the reagents recieved depend on the item scrapped. Any gear can be scrapped, not just crafted items.
Scrapping leather armor, mail armor, bows, and fist weapons will yield Skinning reagents such as leather, scales, and bones. There is also a small chance to receive

when Scrapping. In general, higher quality items will have a better yield of reagents when scrapping.
Skinning Skills
Skinning has three ranks of gathering skill for scale, leather, and bone gathering. Each rank allows you to gather more effectively and increases your chance of finding uncommon materials.

Warfront Contributions
Warfronts are a new feature in Battle for Azeroth. Part of the Warfronts are daily quests from NPCs. Each NPC is linked with a profession and asks for a contribution of a random item specific to that profession. The donation can only be made once per character per Warfronts Cycle and the items asked for are randomized every cycle. Completing these quests rewards you with 150 reputation for

Additional Info
Reagents obtained from skinning are used in the Leatherworking profession to create leather and mail gear as well as some weapons.
Bones are used for most recipes, with

being used in basic recipes and

being used in more advanced ones.
Leather is used for leather armors.

is used in simple recipes and
风暴皮革
in more advanced ones.
Scales are used for crafting mail armor. Basic recipes use

The ol' trusty Mother's Skinning Knife

no longer works once you move into Battle For Azeroth. (Regardless of the tooltip with the stated lvl 113, I had zero success skinning anything after the prison island in the intro questline, even lvl 110. This is likely because regardless of the lvl to which the creature scales, it is a BFA creature with BFA drops)
Hoping we'll see a BFA item to take it's place.

Great guide, thanks. I was wondering if you could add the changes BfA caused the previous expansion professions. For example, the skinning level for Outlands is 75. However, at level 75 when skinning animals we're still getting

. Would that change should a skinner maxed at the next level as well as Outlands level? Or is it a permanent thing that we'll always just get the Knothide Leather scraps now with a few Knothide Leather pieces on occasion?

What is the point of this "guide"? Not abnormal for us to find answers in comments rather then have them offered on the site as you would expect but this 'guide' is barely a description of the skinning skill and otherwise tells us absolutely... nothing.
