Battle for Azeroth 1-175 Cooking Profession Guide

This guide covers leveling and notable objects from the Cooking profession in Battle for Azeroth. Find the quickest way to level from 1-175, including a streamlined leveling path. This also covers basic information about recipe ranks and how these can make your leveling more efficient.
You will only need BfA Cooking (140) to create most Housing Decor items from BfA professions. To find out more about housing decor items you can create with Cooking, see our guide:

Learning Cooking
Battle for Azeroth Cooking is split by faction,

for Horde, and can be learned for 50 gold from the respective Cooking trainers for each faction. These trainers will be your main source for basic Cooking recipes.

For Horde players, you may prefer to do your cooking business with

(/way 52.5, 90), who is located below the Port of Zandalar flight path. This cooking trainer has the goods vendor

(/way 52.5, 86) nearby, making it easier to pick up reagents as needed.
If you ever have trouble finding your profession trainers, you can always ask a city guard for directions. This will place a marker on your map at the NPC's location.
In Battle for Azeroth, the recipe ranking system is still present, with higher ranks being obtained from your trainer, faction reputations, or Work Order world quests.
The following NPCs will sell general vendor reagents:

Leveling Cooking 1-175 in Battle for Azeroth
While the maximum profession level was lowered, the method for increasing your skill level is still the same. Simply crafting items of that profession will raise your Cooking level.
Unlike in Legion, Cooking recipes now require different skill levels to learn, so leveling your Cooking skill will be required to produce more advanced items.
As your profession level increases, certain recipes will become less likely to increase your profession level when crafting. You can tell the level of likelihood based on the color of the recipe in the crafting window. Orange recipes will always increase your profession level, yellow has a decent chance, and increases from green recipes are rare. Gray recipes will never increase your profession level.
The color of a recipe also depends on its rank. For example, a rank 1 recipe may turn yellow once your skill level is 25, but the rank 2 version turns yellow at skill level 50. This means that getting the new rank will change a yellow recipe back to orange for some time.
Leveling Path
This is a general path on what to level in what order to efficiently level your Cooking skill. This path assumes you will not have access to rank 3 recipes from reputations.
Levels 1-50
To start, you will have access to the rank 1

recipe. Craft these until you hit skill level 10, then pick up the rest of the dessert recipes from your cooking trainer. All of these desserts turn yellow at skill level 35, so craft whichever you please until that point. These desserts are easy to craft,

being the only reagent that cannot be purchased from a vendor.
Once you hit skill level 35, you will be able to learn the rank 2 recipe for all of the desserts. These recipes will now stay orange until skill level 50, so craft them until you reach that level.
Levels 50-130
Once you hit skill level 50, you will gain access to the rank 1 Large Meals as well as
香料里脊
. In general, you will just want to craft whichever is cheapest for you.

both require 10 fish, so chances are they will cost more than the other options.
Craft enough of these recipes to hit skill level 75, then pick up the rank 2 versions from your trainer. These will turn yellow at skill level 110 and green at 130. Keep crafting these all the way to 130.
If you have the rank 3 versions of any of these recipes, you can craft those until level 150.
Levels 130-155
At this point, you should be able to pick up the rank 1

from your trainer. This will get you to skill level 155.
Levels 155-175
Now you can grab the rank 2
深炸咸肉饼
and craft this until you max your cooking skill out at 175.

Thank you SO much for the guide. FYI: Large meals offer 49,330 health and 24,655 mana over 20 sec. Well fed after 10 sec gives you +20 in a secondary stat.

At the moment, large meals rank one are only denoting that they give 36 to a given stat, however at 116 they are granting me 70 of the appropriate stat

Seems odd that the Zandalari Cooking Trainer does not have a cooking supplies vendor in the same room. And the Cooking Supplies vendor does not have a cooking fire (not a big dea), nor obviously the trainer in the Inn.This makes it annoying at times when leveling (at least at the start). The low level recipes (Mon'Dazi, Kul Tiramisu, Loa Loaf, and Raspberry Tarts) require lots of cooking supplies. Fortunately, although they are far apart, there is a short flight path between the two NPCs.
p.s. The thought of Tiramisu containing Aromatic Fish Oil is revolting to me. (Just my $0.02 - and it's not just the Tiramisu!)
p.p.s Second Cooing Trainer (Howcha) at 52.47, 90.45 (downstairs from the Flight Master and much closer to supplies!)

Adding the vendor(s) to the guide for the necessary purchasable supplies would be extremely helpful. You can't even start leveling cooking if you don't know where to get supplies. The horde vendor

Blizzard is not making it easy for levels 130-150, everything goes green except the Banquet and Feasts, and both of them take a rather large amount of mats compared to the others.

Good work compiling the information into one guide but I expected more of an actual guide to leveling cooking. With the removal of Aromatic Fish Oil from the vendors, it would be good to have a leveling guide along with info on which ones to cook first (eg: Mondazi and Kul Tiramisu are used in later feasts while the other 2 starter crafts aren't). Also info on when a certain craft goes yellow, when to switch crafts, etc. This guide is more a compilation of the in-game info rather than an actual guide.

Will never get why Blizzard creates 2 feast that share the same hard ingredient (in this case Midnight Salmon).
Galley Banquet shouldn't use Midnight Salmon on Rank 3 in my opinion, like there is no reason to use them on those when the Captain's Feast only use 2 on Rank 3.

I have had Sailor's Pie Rank 3 and Honey-Glazed Haunches Rank 3 in my bags for a very long time. I have Rank 1 of each, but not Rank 2. Both are supposed to be taught by Cap'n Byron Mehisack in Tradewinds Market, but he is not offering them to me. I am level 111 in my Kul Tiran Cooking. Anyone know how I can obtain Rank 2?
