Yet another "am I geared enough to raid" question...

I really don't understand why people won't take me for 10-man Naxx. Back when I raiding on my shaman I remember healing tank who were way less geared than my tank is. But it's the same story every time:
"Need tank for Naxx"
"I'll go"
"How much HP do you have? and are you def capped?"
"545 Def and 27.3k hp."
"Sorry no good enough."

I mean wtf? Are Ulduar tanks tanking all the 10-man Naxx runs, or what?

And yes I know my have crap bracers, but can't get the H OK ones to drop for the life of me.

Ty Bipsridder for you post. Let's just say I hate doing dailies/farming gold, so I don't have as much income as other players. That being said, the Armor-Plated Shotgun is next on my list for purchases, and I'm saving up badges for the shield instead of getting the crafted one. So yeah, in a couple weeks I'll probably be all epic'd out.

Also ty for the advise about the guild. I hate to start going off-topic, but I'm in (I guess) unique situation. My life is pretty hectic at the moment, and I can't commit myself to specific raiding times. Because of that I've had to shy away from most raiding guild and stick with more casual ones. Are there guilds out there that would want a tank might not be at the raid every week? I have yet to find one.

You have 2 gathering professions, any you don't have gold?

I would suggest you utilize your mining and craft some titansteel bars. With those you can upgrade your shield and boots to the Titansteel Shield Wall and Tempered Titansteel Treads. Also slap an enchant on your cloak and start working on Sons of Hodir faction. You can pickup the easy to get quest reward ranged weapon Weighted Throwing Axe while you are doing all of this.

You should be able to tank 10 Naxx, but groups nowadays judge solely on your unbuffed Health and looks. That shield isn't doing you any good, that's one of the first things people see when you invite you. Also not sure how you come up with 42.32 Avoidance, your dodge is 19.85% and your parry is 16.67%.

for as long as i've been tanking miss has been calculated in to avoidance (for obvious reasons I assume).
my warrior has the 2 gathering professions to support my main's 2 crafting professions.
don't get me wrong, i do haul in money, but supporting 5 toons takes work.
also, I don't see any reason to take the throwing weapon you suggested, I'm already over the def cap as it is.
as I said, was working on the badge shield which I just got today.

Funny thing about the guild problem.....I found a nice guild, been chillin with them a bit and they said they would boost me through 25 man Naxx today. But when it came down to it I was pulling my weight as off-tank without any problems. Now granted we had some well geared guildies in with us, but if i can off-tank 25-man, i think i can off-tank (if not main tank) 10-man.
