Hi Wowhead Community!
So I have the following 110's:
Hunter MM / and BM to a lesser extent
Shadow Priest
Mage Mostly Fire / Some Frost
Druid Lot higher in Feral than Balance
All of which have their
T20 4pc Sets
. Some, like S-Priest seem very good. But, and here is my dilemma, I have bags full of
915 to 930
gear as well! I hate losing the
set bonuses
, but I have to think that using some of that higher gear might be better.
Thoughts?
*I am about to install wowhead's Inventory Add-on. If it works the way I think it does, I will come back here and link to ea toon.
Thanks in advance!

My rule of thumb is break them up when you have bonuses from the next tier. Ideally you want 4 pieces of the current gear and 2 pieces from the previous gear, 2 legendary items, then whatever else you can slot.

For DPS classes, I really recommend you SIM it out. Itemization issues, and slot usage, may not allow you to do 4pc+2pc. In that case, general practice is to not break 4pc until you have 2pc at least. But some 2pc bonuses are so underwhelming that it's not worth it. Then itemization comes into play too.... new tier, better ilvl, different stat allocation.
Unfortunately it's not very cut and dry. So simming your results is your best bet. A couple months back I did a quick video on how to simply sim out a character. If you need a starting point, this may help you.

I was kind of thinking the same thing with the tier pieces.
As for Simming it, I have done that on occasion. I can't help but wonder if the Sims take into acct the set bonuses, hence this thread.
My guess is that they would, but I am not 100% sure as using SimC/Simulationcraft is something I have only recently started doing.
I guess I need to do a combination of Both of your comments and thx for the replies!

SimulationCraft does take into account set bonuses. If you do use
Raidbots
to do your simming, it uses SimulationCraft.

Ask Mr Robot does take into procs and bonuses tho.
It is a bit fiddlier, but makes a much more thorough sim.
