Having both agility and attack power is good. These days you find rogue gear with both stats on it. Agility is a better stat to have since it does give 2 dps stats, crit chance and attack power.

It's possible to achieve 700+ agility as a subtlety build rogue, which would give you 20%+ crit chance alone. But is it necessary? Probably not.

Agility is better since it scales. It gives you improved chance to dodge, armor bonus, and of course, AP.

What a noob observation. Ever heard of itemization points? The simple fact that you are going to find a hell of alot more AP than AGI on same item level gear should be a big clue.

The question. DO i socket 40AP gems or 20agi gems?

40AP +10% = 44AP

20agi + 15% = 23.75agi +10%AP = 26.125AP
23.75agi = .28% crit
23.75agi = 47.5 armor
23.75agi = .43% dodge

Let's Say you have 7 red gems to socket.

40AP gem x7 308 AP

20agi gem x7 182AP
1.98% crit
332.5 armor
3.01% dodge

Those are the numbers. SO do you want a little more raw dps or a little more survivability.

And? They didn't get rid or Agility and AP in the past two years have they? This is still a valid issue that people debate non stop. Just thought I'd add some information that consisted of raw data instead of the usual "Shut up moron AP is for nubs LOL" The only reason I came across this thread is that it was #3 on a Google search.

Thanks Chezy, i spent hefty amount of time looking for those numbers! Mostly data was outdated or google comes up with something, but nothing in value inside

i also hate kiddies shouting out: don't do that, do that instead ... with no valuable information or logical explanations. And you know why? Simply - they don't know the correct answer and usually forces others to follow their fail mistakes
