Stealth caps at a 1 yard minimun within your "cone" of vision. You can have 1,000 stealth level and he will still see you one yard away.

Had a few questions about stealth as i understand it now everyone one level of stealth lets you get 1 yard closer to a enemy without them seeing you.

So assuming a level 70 rogue with 5/5 mod, jc trinket and cloak enchant goes up vs a level 70 warrior with 0 stealth detection would that mean that he would not be able to see you no matter why you stood in front of him or is there a default stealth detection level of at least 1 yard so you could'nt just stack stealth.

5/5 mod = 15 stealth
shadowsong panther = 5 stealth
Cloak: 5 stealth

25 stealth / 5 stealth per level = 5 levels of difference

Normal detection range is 10 yards, if i remember correctly, and every level of difference moves it by 2 yards, to a minimum of 1 yard, so you should be able to get right in his face without being seen until you're almost on top of him.

So with 5 levels even if a human poped there racial you could still sap them without them seeing you if you were fast:)

The base skills at 70 allow you to see from 5 yards away, and every 5 points of stealth is 1 yard. So MoD, trinket, and the cloak enchant is overkill, since you will max out at 20 points anyways.

NOTE: This is against targets that do not have any sort of increase to their detection level (also a base 350 skill at 70). For more on what will alter that, click here.

You can do that with 0 levels. You just need to stay behind them. Stealth detection only works in the 180 degrees in front of a person. You can either approach from behind, or shadowstep to avoid being seen. Same goes for paranoia, but you have to stay behind both the warlock and the pet.
