(( Surprised? I've decided to post Light and Death every monday and friday - like Dralas' Blood and Steel story. Why? Cause I'm typing these up too fast and the suspense is killing me.
And yes, it's short, but it still works to continue the plot line Combined this with Page 25. And I give you:
VALINARIA OF THE SCOURGE INVASION - Girlcaster, if this isn't how you think Valinaria looks tell me your description of her was vauge in The Scourge Invasion.))
- Duthorian Rall - former apprentice to Master Paladin Marcus Holyhammer - hurried up the stairs of the Cathedral of Light. The door was already standing open and Duthorian walked right in. Marcus was standing just a few feet away from the altar, the Holy Light flowing over it. Duthorian knelt down behind him.
- "Milord," he began, "we've just recieved word from Sir Nilon."
- Marcus slowly turned around. "Nilon? He's still alive?"
- "Yes, milord, the Gnomes in the Dwarven District picked up a telegraph message on their machines. He's reached the Trisfal Glades, from there he plans to continue on to the Eastern Plaugelands."
- "Excellent," Marcus said, then began to walk towards the doors. "Inform Sir Derek and Sir Sean that they are to be coming with me, and have them prepare for a long trip."
- "Milord, where are you going?"
- Marcus looked back over his shoulder. "The Eastern Plaugelands, of course. Sir Nilon will need help." With that Marcus walked out of site, and Duthorian hurried futher into the Cathedral to look for the two other Paladins.
...
- Morec help up his spyglass - scavenged from a Forsaken frigate he had just destroyed the day before - to his eye. Peering through it he scanned the land, the sight of the Scourge roaming across it bringing a strange mix of pride and disgust. Eventually he spotted Nilon and his allies.
-
So, the Death Knight thought,
they made it after all. Then he frowned.
Hmm, the Shaman is with them, that gives them a slight advantage in healing magics.
- "Well?" Arceus asked, his glass eye regarding Morec with as much disrespect as his normal one. "Are you going to have us charge in to attack them?"
- "No," Morec replied, keeping his gaze on the living, "they have an advantage on us in healing abilities. To attack would be suicide."
- "Could it be?" Arcues wondered out loud. "You're actually thinking? It's a miracle!" Morec didn't reply and Arceus grinned. "Anyway, what do you plan to do about that?"
- Morec turned the spyglass's gaze to the east, centering it on the building known as the Scarlet Monastery, the Scarlet Crusade's main base of operations in the Trisfal Glades. He grinned as a thought crossed his mind.
- "I think I might have an idea," he said. "Release the ghouls into the wild, we're going to shore."
- "And then what?"
- "Then we're going to pay a visit to come crusaders." Morec gripped the hilt of his sword.
...
- Nilon doubled over in pain, gripping his head. Thrrag, Celen and Scalebender all rushed to see what was wrong.
- "The... Undead," Nilon said through clenched teeth, "I can... sense them. They're... everywhere. It's... too... much."
- "You can 'sense' them?'" Celen asked sceptically, "What does that mean?"
- "It's... a Paladin trait," Nilon explained. "With a little effort I... I think I can subdue the pain." After a moment he stood back up. "There, much better. And I'm glad your talking to me again."
- A look of embarrassment crossed Celen's face, and she turned and walked off in a huff. Nilon looked at Thrrag and Scalebender, both nodded at the Paladin who then hurried off after Celen.
- "Look," he started, "I'm sorry about what I did back in Ratchet, but-" he was cut off as her hand connected with his face, almost knocking out a tooth.
- "'SORRY!'" Celen shouted, "Your 'sorry?' Well then, I suppose everything's okay, now that your 'sorry.'"
- "I didn't have much choice, he was our only hope of getting to where we are now."
- "So? What if you had lost? I'd be..."
- "Nilon walked up to her, their faces almost touching. "I. Never. Lose."
- Celen opened her mouth to speak, but then turned her head, listening. "Do you hear that?" Nilon listened, there was something, a whizzing in the air.
- "An arrow!" Nilon suddenly shouted, and then pushed himself and Celen to the ground. Seconds later an arrow embedded itself in the tree behind him.
- Nilon jumped back up, grabbing his sword and spinning around to face his new enemy. "Come and fight me you-," he cut himself off as he saw who he was fighting. "Scarlet Crusaders?" he lowered his weapon. "Its alright, we're alive, good work on being cautious, though."
- One of the crusaders, a Paladin, took a step foreword, then charged at Nilon.
- The Blood Elf was shocked, but he managed to raise his sword to crudely parry the attack. Nilon kicked the Crusader in the gut, knocking him flat on his back, and then prepared to execute him.
- "Stop," a voice commanded, "or she dies." Nilon turned, three Crusaders were behind him, and one held a knife to Celen's throat. The Blood Elf wrestled with his conscious for a moment, then sighed and lowerd his blade.
- The Crusaders disarmed him and Celen, and then led them back to Thrrag and Scalebender - the two had also been captured and were surrounded by at least twenty Crusaders. The two Elves were forced into place next to the other two.
- Then every Crusader in the area gave a crisp salute, someone was approaching. As the figure drew nearer it revealed itself to be a female Blood Elf, by the looks of her armor and weapons a Ranger. She had blond hair and delicate, pale skin. She looked over the four travelers, and then left her gaze on Nilon. She started to smile.
- "Hello, Nilon, its been a while," said Valinaria.
