People hate blatant money grabs largely because they have been burned by past experiences with them. If you ride a money grab, you're going to get some hate.

Do not forget that grinding in a game does not have to be bad by definition, the proces in getting mounts or other rewards ingame might actually be fun, maybe even more fun then actually having mounts in your stable. Or at least that's how i feel about it. i know for sure that i wouldn't put the effort into getting the drakes in ulduar if i wouldn't have liked the 'grind' itself, nor stratholme for the baron's mount, nor would i have given away the ZG tiger after grinding the place for more then a year just bc it was her birthday soon.

In spirit of that do not judge ppl who grind places for a mount, a pet, an item or whatever just bc you don't deem the reward worthy. maybe the reward is worthy to them or maybe they having fun in the grind for the reward which you might see as labourous. To them the reward doesn't even have to be worthy at all as they enjoying the ride already and any reward just is a bonus.

In the same way if you find fun in getting a mount from scratching of a code and deem that worthy 25 dollars then by all means do so. no one can judge for you how you feel about the reward nor the 'grind' you had to make to do so. a person who makes 5dollars/hour and doesn't like his job one bit, might look a whole lot different to it then a person making 100dollars/hour doing a job he likes a lot.

So if you don't want to be judged, a good start would be to not judge other ppl and their occupations in a game.

Thats a fairly good analogy save for the fact that, you know, this is in a video game and not real life.

Although I don't blame your confusion, WoW players tend to not know the difference.
