I was trying to find some items that increase haste rating like enchants and gems. I could have sworn that there we some of these and so far the only thing that I was able to find was the haste potion. I was wondering if someone could help me out. Also what would be a good site that would give me the formula on how to calculate haste rating. And yes I am a BM hunter for life.

Without actual haste gear there are no enchants or gems that will add haste rating atm. Spec 5/5 into IAotH and theres your 15% haste proc right there. You can also pick up Leatherworking and bring drums to the raid.

So you are telling me that even though there are spell haste gems there are none for melee or ranged attacks. I thought I have seen them before on other hunters but I will just have to accept that I was mistaken.

Mid ZA on an AFK break... off the top of my head there is:
Abacus of violent odds (Mech)
DST (Gruuls)
Drums as mentioned
Swiftstrike Shoulders (BT/MH BoL Pattern. Slightly better hunter stats than the mail version unless you're a hardcore mail +int addict).
Leather and Mail haste BoE bracers (MH/BT Trash BoP Pattern)
Cloak of Fiends (ZA Chest Drop)
Tuskbreaker (ZA Chest Drop)
Shivering Felspine (Sunwell Trash)
Embrace of the Phoenix (Rare sunwell trash chest pattern drop)

**There's probably heaps i've missed out, just listing the ones i can remember.
