Lmao, Knaak's using a hearthstone as a plot point...
I don't know whether to /facepalm or be pleasantly surprised. Apparently they're so rare as to be nearly mythical.
But let me guess. The beautiful humans and the silver/golden-orbed elves have one, but not a stinky orc who's alluring orbs could only ever be what a human found attractive about them.

Actually, it was the Night Elf ambassador in Stormwind who had one.
Also:
The idea for Bolvar's appearance could be likened to pirate Raithen of the Diablo novel " The Black Road". Burned to death by the Demon Kabraxxis's fire, then resurrected by traces of a spell the demon used to raise skeletons, he walked the line between dead and alive. This is similar to Bolvar. Possibly killed by the Forsaken attack, then resurrected by the Red Dragons fire. Didn't realize the Flames of the Red Flight had resurrection abilities.

Hearthstone's... RARE! WTF!
So, who agree's with Knaak's interpritation (sp) of them as rare? (if that's not a loaded question...)

I have an idea for another Fan Fic, though I already have two going at the moment... I guess I'll finish Tales of the Shu'halo, then Overlapping Shadows, then I'll start it.

Would actually make sense why they aren't seen more often in Lore heh.

But they are seen in Jailbreaks.

I know there's one somewhere arround here, but I can't find it, where's that thread to post your RP toon so that others may rate it, and point out the clished parts, or sue-ish parts?
I've searched, but since it's not a sticky I can't find it, can you tell me the name of the thread? I want to post a resume of one of my toons for a lil'fanfic in spanish I'm writing (don't worry :P the toon's biography will be in english)

So, who agrees with Knaak's interpretation of them as rare? (if that's not a loaded question...)Well, I do think that if they are brought into real lore, they should be rare. The real question is whether they should be brought in at all, or it they're too plot device-y.
In the book, it was a rare artifact dating back to Zin-Azshari, which is probably the way I prefer it. Not every guy should get one, and it does make sense that the Night Elves would have used them back in the times when they were using magic more than soap.

The rare thing works; only specific stones would exist for some of the oldest cities on Azeroth. Of course the next question comes up; how do you attune it to a new location instead of the city where you found it?

You know, it seems to me that the Cult of Forgotten Shadow seems heavily based on
LeVeyan Satanism
.
Edit: Also:
The Nightmare Lord’s outrage echoed in Malfurion’s mind a moment after, a pitiful sound in comparison to the majesty of the storm. However, the archdruid did not assume his victory assured or imminent. Arms outstretched, hands clenched, Malfurion threw his will into what he and the druids had created, then threw it at the Nightmare Lord.
The storm raged.I see what you did there, Knaak.
Edit #2: Just finished the book. The wedding scene was horrible. I felt physically ill. I'll admit, there were portions of the book that I enjoyed, but the wedding scene was a sickening orgy of sappy Twilight "romance," the glowing auras and light-beams of the worst spiky-haired Japanese anime, and all of Knaak's special snowflakes gather together, all writhing in a stomach-turning display of horrible awfulness.
Night Elves don't even get married!

try reading The Sinwar Trilogy (another set of 3 books by kanaak but based on the Diablo Universe rather than warcraft) :P for some reason his sue-ish crap isn't so horrible in there.
let's all be gratefull that the cataclysm books will be written by golden rather than kanaak.
unlike kanaak, golden isn't biased, and so self-absorbed into depicting romaniticized versions of every posible twillight clishe ever.
when I read Rise of the Horde, she was enough unbiased to describe both orcs and draenei in a favorable way, unlike kanaak who only describes orcs as animals that can talk.......... no wait let me correct that........ he describes orcs as filthy stinky dumb animals that can talk..........
BTW:skreeran, that scene where that elf says "the orc has an axe" reminds me of a funny scene in the videogame Mass Effect 2:
Garrus: come on tali, don't you miss all our conversations? about the quarian culture, and your customs?
Tali: no
Garrus: come on, I know you do, let's hear it, how's life on the migrant fleet?
Tali: this conversation is over.
Garrus: not even a little bit? like for example do quarians---
Tali: I Have a shotgun
Garrus: ......... errrm maybe we better talk later........
xD Classic :P

Partially true. All authors have bias and favourites. The key difference is that Golden tries her best to pu aside her own personal views to let the reader decide for themselves, whereas Knaak's opinion is put down as canon, even when words such as monstrous and hideous are extremely subjective.

na, check out metzen, his book of "of blood and honor" does an amazing job of depicting both tirion and eitrigg as honorable men, while portraying the rest of humanity as simply misguided.
while I agree that everyone (authors and players alike) have a favorite, it's vital that you let the audience form their own opinions rather than you force your opinion on them............
is like on the video-game Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines..........
both factions in there: The Camerilla and the Sabath are a bunch of bastards, corrupted to the core, yet when you meet jack, he doens't fill up your head with any bias towards any faction, instead he says "I like to let people draw their own conclutions, when you've had more knoledge I'll tell you what I think of the camerilla and the sabbath"
(Yyhe, I love several RPG's warcraft is but one of many I've played over the years xD, my favorites being Neverwinter, Vampire the maskerade, mass effect, Dungeons and Dragons, baldur's gate, Knights of the old republic........ ect)
