Uhm... What?

English qualifications:
You do GCSEs in yr 11 at high school.
Then you can either go get a job or do an extra 2 years for your A levels.
Then you go to uni and get a degree.

Uhm, okay. I had no clue what you were talking about in your first post...
And then you reply by saying English qualifications, and then talk about something called GCSEs.
And I look at the first post, and see nothing related to English, except general studies, and that's not specifically English.
And I still don't know what A levels are...
So hopefully you understand the confusion you provoked.

Fizzles
In Year 11 (or 10th Grade in USA) you do tests called GCSE's (like SAT's, only harder).
After that, you can leave school age 16 or stay on for 2 more years to get your A-Levels. A-Levels are marked similarly to grades in America, (we use A* instead of A+) and is just more qualifications to get a job.
I believe today was the day the results got back.

Ah.
I understand a little better now.
And are you saying that GCSE's are harder than SAT's from experience? Or is this a proven fact?

Yeah, its results day today, just looks like noone wants to post any.

Maybe because some of us aren't a European kid in 11th year (10th grade)?

Shall we just leave this thread to rot...

There's really no reason for this to get locked. There's a valid point behind it, and others may feel the urge to post their own results.
Aaanyway, I believe if more of us were Britons we'd post our results...

I don't find out my GCSE results for another week, otherwise I would post. To Rob, they are qualifications in England; hence the use of English...not all of us are Americans you know!
Also, it makes a change to see a country-specific thread that's not about the U.S. Plus yes, GCSEs are harder than SATs. I did my last set of SATs when I was 14. GCSEs finish at 16. :)

OH.
English as in England, not the language.
That makes more sense now, lol.

Well, you did know that English was a nationality as well as a language, right?
To Mindthegap, no worries about maths...I'm doing Biology/Chemistry/History/Engliah Language for A levels. :)

That's peculiar. 'cause I think I took my PSATs when I was about 15, and my SATs when I was 16 and 17 . And i believe that's normal.
Taking SATs when you're just out of middle school, just a freshman in high school is pretty much unheard of, unless you're one of those crazy anomalies that gets in the news... o.o

Well I have no idea about the US years so... :)
I have finished my GCSEs, but I did A level ICT instead of GCSE - school ditched two years of ICT and I failed it, because the teacher was lazy. D:
