Yes, Coren Direbrew does drop ilevel 200 trinkets as he did the previous year.

However, This year you will find that when you kill Coren for the first time each day you will get a "Treasure Keg" (I believe that's the item name) in your bags. Open the Keg and you have a chance at additional items:

Frost Badges x2 (guaranted drop)
Great Brewfest Kodo mount
Swift Brewfest Ram mount
Tankard O' Terror (ilevel 226 1H Phys DPS Mace)

So, no, you're not going to be getting anything amazing this year. But do you really ever, outside of pets, mounts, and playthings? Not really.

Anything they could have put into this year's Brewfest that was better than last year's wouldn't last you too long anyhow with the rate at which Frost Badges can be obtained.

Two Frost badges a day is going to add up to an extra 30 Frost Badges throughout the Brewfest event, which is nearly an item in and of itself (and an ilevel 251 item at that). And 2 badges that takes literally less than 60 seconds to earn after entering through an incredibly quick Dungeon Finder tool is nothing to sneeze at.

I don't see anything to complain about here, especially since if the mount drops it's automatically yours and you no longer have to hope for a single mount to drop after two weeks and 75 runs (15 days at 5 runs a day for a full party) only to see the noob that is only level 77 roll a 100 on it and win it.

Enjoy the game and stop worrying about "zomg phat lewts that I will replace within a week!"

This is a fun event ... try to have fun.

You can not buy and then sell back the brewfest clothes. just tryied on 9/20/10 the vendor will not take it back. so you will need the 552 tokens to get all the achevments. or 550 if your lucky enough to win a mount.

Some new things I learned for '10 Brewfest,
1) The daily with Coren is no longer available. You can only get to him through the Dungeon Finder.
2) I was told the mounts no longer drop from Coren, but from the barrel you get the first time you do him that day. You can also get frosties from the barrel.
3) Unfortunately, no new stein. Just a green one like last year :( (Would've been awesome if it was red or orange or something like that this year)

Confirmed. The mounts come from the keg-shaped treasure chest. I got my kodo from it a day ago.

Not being able to sell back the items is sort of dumb. I understand Blizzard wants to add as many time sinks to their time sink so they can have a time sink for more time sinks....yo, but seriously. These quests aren't "that" fun or entertaining and having to do them for two weeks just to get a title is disappointing. =o

I'm especially p/oed after reading you can sell the stuff back and then trying it after doing the dtp sheev to only find out that I have to wait 6-7 more days for Brewmaster since it isn't part of the meta anymore (no I didn't check the achievement meta cuz I thought you could sell the stuff back still).

A pretty awesome holiday. You can get totally smashed along with friends and people you've never met before, but you don't get those rough mornings the next day or contemplating about any bad decisions you may have made the previous night, and not get arrested for Mounting Under the Influence.

...plus you get to throw mugs around!

i was wondering if the Noble hops come out during this time.... working on my cooking and i know the sous chef in org suppose to carry these and were recently taken out and to be put back in the patches to come. but. someone had asked or told me that they come out during brewfest and i have to wait... I searched all of brewfest vendors etc. and nothing speaks of it... im hoping someone can confirm that this is a rumor

This wow event is my favorite because I know it is time for the real thing... Nothing like a day out at Oktoberfest then come home and spend a few hours having fun at Brewfest.

I just wanted to add that this is a perfect opportunity for anyone who still needs to do their "Needy" achievement since you can farm this guy as much as you like.

"Got My Mind On My Money" achievement also comes to mind because this guy drops between 17 and 22g per kill (17-22g per member in a 5 man group) and takes less than 2 minutes to kill.

Edit: He also drops mounts this year (or did he drop them last year too?), Ram just dropped, still waiting for my kodo.

Edit #2: It seems that blizzard changed the gold you loot to a much lower value, been getting anything between 4 silver and 1 gold today. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

a tip for those making the daily quest of the barrels..

Along the way there are 4 "drums" (don't know excately what tey are) that refresh your ram fatigue (submited a screenshot to help finding them)

1 almost inside the tent were you get the quest
1 near the bridge
1 near the little hill
1 passing a little bit the guy that throws you the barrel

If you hit them with your ram, the fatigue counter goes to zero, so, you can go at maximum speed full time

A few tips:
-The quest doesn't go in your quest log and is not abandonable in case you mess up. Where you would normally hit "Accept" you will see "Complete Quest". Hitting that will apply the ram buff to you and put reins in your bags.
-Equip the reins to your action bar.
-Be sober so you can steer and see straight. Try Starfire Espresso to sober up.
-Dismount before accepting the quest to ensure you get your ram correctly.
-Wait to hit any movement buttons or to use your reins for one second after you see your ram appear. Otherwise the ram can glitch and despawn.
-Have 3 empty spots minimum in your bags before accepting the quest. One for tokens, one for barrels, and one for reins. Remember that tokens stack to 200, so you may still need the empty slot for overflow even if you have an incomplete stack already.
-Do a test run of your route on a ground mount before accepting. Know where your barrels are. If you are having trouble use raid world markers while in a party to mark the barrels and npcs.
-If you are having a hard time with latency and can't get the barrels to refresh as you pass, try to run square into them so they stop you. Once your fatigue resets, jump to free yourself. Also, try not to run neck and neck with other players.
There's a good description and a map of another method at icy-veins.com, though I don't use the strategy it was informative to see the map.

My route, the long version (12 barrels with mistakes and some latency): skip to summary if you don't want to read
Also the most efficient way that I have found to do it is to only hit 3/4 barrels. I skip the one at the end behind the guy that throws me the keg unless I miss the one before it (behind the bone fence). If the fatigue reset doesn't apply at the second barrel (happens frequently with higher latency) then I stop hitting the reins before I cross the road. That usually drops me from a gallop to a canter at 85-90 and gives me time to get the barrel #3 behind the fence without exhaustion kicking in. I stop 20 yards before the guy who throws me a keg and it appears in my bags right before I hit barrel #3 again (watch for it, you may need to adjust where you turn if the keg doesn't appear by barrel #3). I always go through the tent and jump over the fence in the pen behind it.

A summary of my route 12 barrels per run with mistakes and some latency:
Ram Master Ray
Barrel #1 in pen behind tent
Barrel #2 between tents, archers and fires in dranosh'ar blockade encampment
Barrel #3 to the north of the road behind a fence 60-70 yds away from Bok
Bok Dropcertain
Barrel #4 Just behind Bok, skip this barrel unless you miss barrel #3

Start at Ram Master Ray
Run through tent and jump over pen fence to get barrel #1
Bear left past campfires, head between red tents to get to barrel #2
Cross the road and head between 2 large rocks, go behind the fence to your left to get barrel #3
Turn around 20 yds short of Bok Dropcertain for him to throw you a barrel
Go back to Barrel #3
Head down the road and between the rocks, jump over the crates to barrel #2
Left around the fires and fence, jump into pen for barrel #1 and Ram Master Ray
Turn around in the tent and repeat

Hey guys,

We are aware that many of you are concerned about not having enough time to level up and such, which is a concern we fully acknowledge, as we know that many of you would like to enjoy and experience the new areas and content at your own pace, and not feel like you have to rush through things and level up as fast as possible just to have a go at the Brewfest dungeon boss.

Therefore, In order to make sure you guys have some more time to prepare for this year's Brewfest, we have pushed the whole event forward by just over a week, stopping short of overlapping with the Hallow's End event.

However a start date, or how much time you have to level to 89 has not been announced(at least not that I have seen). Maybe calendars will be updated with the pre-patch? If it means a week from the 20th that would only leave a little more than 2 days to level to 89 before it starts and have the most chances possible to get the mount. In the beta calendar atm it begins on sept.28th.

The origin of Brewfest is recounted in the graphic novel Pearl of Pandaria.

The famous pandaren brewmaster Chen Stormstout, having been overwhelmingly recommended to try Thunderbrew beer, found his way to Dun Morogh and Grimbooze Thunderbrew at Thunderbrew Distillery, challenging the dwarf to a drinking contest to decide who was the better brewer.

In the end, when the two were nearly passed out, Chen declared Grimbooze to be superior. However, Grimbooze liked Chen's beer more. After a brief and lighthearted argument, the two decided to hold a contest in Dun Morogh for all dwarves to taste their drinks and decide. Coren Direbrew whined his way into getting a position in the contest as well. In the end, Chen and Grimbooze were neck-in-neck while Coren only had two votes, one from himself and one from Chen out of pity. The Dark Iron attacked them in anger, and Chen fought him off. Grimbooze's brew was declared the victor by a single vote.

The festival continued annually, with the Gordok ogres replacing Coren and the Barleybrew dwarves replacing Chen, eventually evolving into the modern Brewfest. Coren Direbrew, never forgetting his humiliation, has led attacks on the festival every year since.

With Brewfest 2013 a month away I hope Blizzard updates this WE.

And I don't just mean changing the stats on existing gear either.

I've been doing this WE since the first year they introduced it. I use to always look forward it, but now I have the mounts and pets...

Personally I'd like some new quests and dailies. Keep the old ones fine, but give us something new to do this year. New flying mount. Brewfest themed armor....chest, shoulders, helmet.

An interesting little trick I've found out for the Dark Iron Dwarf invasion(Still works for patch 5.4):

You can use your pet/elemental/demon to grab the spinning mugs. By using the "/petmoveto" macro, you're free to drink while acquiring the spinning mugs. Using this method, we we're able to beat the Dark Iron Dwarves with only 3 people. I use my turtle as his spin let's me know he's touched the spinning mug. Some pets, however, will not spin but still throw around mugs.

Bottoms Up!

UPDATE: I was just able to accomplish the gear with only 1 other person. Another thing to add is your pet will NOT get bashed around by the Dark Iron Dwarves.

As of Patch 5.4, nearly all references in quests and achievements of the requirement of being drunk have been removed, usually deferring the use of 合成酿酒护目镜, and the Complimentary Brewfest Sampler has been renamed and replaced by 美酒节试喝软饮料.

Now, I know that the option for drunken revelry still exists, but HONESTLY!

For the 玩具大师 "Toy-box achie" you need together 400x 美酒节奖币. It is easier to collect them on more then 1 char then all on 1. Pick 3 chars, 1 go for the 200x 美酒节奖币, and 2 others for the 100x 美酒节奖币

Good luck if you want to try your hand at Coren Direbrew. They raised the lvl requirement to 100. Basically, Blizzard are saying you HAVE to buy WoD if you want to complete World Events now.

Fun fact: The music playing during brewfest is categorized as "dialogue".
If you try to disabling music (or silencing it) it'll still keep on playing. You need to lower the dialogue volume.

Update: I updated the 美酒节佳酿 numbers, as I was able to deliver 15 kegs (up from 14.)

These numbers are based on crunches that I did, personally, during Legion Patch 7.3.

According to the "Drops" section of the 桶型宝箱 page, a player can receive anywhere from 10 to 15 美酒节奖币(s). If we consider our distribution (the tokens we receive from the chest) and the endpoints (the minimum and maximum possibility of tokens) to be symmetric, then we can theoretically calculate our average. With that said, we'll consider the distribution to be normal and the interval to be within the interquartile range.

avgTokens = ((10 + 15) * 0.5) = 12.5 美酒节奖币(s)

In other words, players can expect 12 or 13 tokens per chest that they open. I've gone with the lower end, and used 12 tokens in my calculation of what a player will see in their 科林·烈酒-related chest. I will now calculate the total number of tokens a player can obtain on the first encounter of the event (meaning all quests are available to the player), as well as what they can net (approximately, of course) per day, thereafter.

The First Encounter: (does not include sources affected by the daily reset)

This event was not in the original Classic World of Warcraft. If I am not mistaken, this holiday was added in patch 2.2.2 (TBC), so nothing was added to the Classic database.

From 2019 onwards, during each day of Brewfest there will be either a Hozen, Alemental or Dark Iron invasion, in the Brewfest camp.
This event repeats every 30 minutes, exactly on the hour and half hour.

When the invaders have been defeated, one of these three items appears in front of the stage: 猢狲图腾, 被制服的酒灵, 猢狲图腾. These offer a simple daily quest hand in. This rewards 10 No 美酒节奖币.

Following the event, the quest item does not despawn for five minutes after the event; during that time the quest may be done by anyone who has unlocked the Brewfest daily quests, even if they've not taken part in the invasion.

For TomTom users, the location of the item that offers the quest is:

Below are the new macros to play Brewfest sounds in-game.
Due to data mining occlusion effort by Blizzard in patch 8.2
macros to play sound files in-game can not point to ogg files anymore.

In terms of how Brewfest affects the Ember Court, I found Theotar's Festive Brews spaced out around the event. These each give a 15% reputation buff, stacking to 20 for a total of 300%. There seem to be more than 20 and it was not difficult to collect 20 stacks before the event ended.

It seems like maybe there is some type of friendship buff happening for the Ember Court via Brewfest. I had never invited The Countess, Cryptkeeper Kassir, or Polemarch Adrestes to my Ember Court until today. Here are their reps as of this current run:

The Countess = Acquaintance (4825/8400)
Cryptkeeper Kassir = Friend (925/8400)
Polemarch Adrestes = Acquaintance (4736/8400)

I also invited Droman Aliothe to the Court this week. She has been a guest before. Her rep currently shows as: Acquaintance (6125/8400)

EDITED TO ADD: I did click on as many Theotar's Festive Brews as I could, but I wasn't keeping track of how many I actually clicked on as I was focused on trying to complete the mini events before my time ran out.

2021 trinkets are Blue quality (not sure that matters to anyone) and ilevel 184. (Day 2 morning for reference in case they change stuff - 184 is fairly uninspiring)

getting a phasing bug when I try to do any of the ram riding quests. as soon as I'm out of the main brewfest area, it reverts to non-holiday npcs, no barrels to collect, no apple barrels to eat from, etc. I don't have any quests uncompleted in this area.
