Try to get some fresh air every now and then.
Meaning that if you grinded to friendly with the
, you really need to get out of the house more often.
Edit: The Bloodsail grind is easier now than it was in 2008 when I wrote this.
You don't need exalted with them, just friendly with them and hated with the gobs
Mate, you have to kill over 1,000 Booty Bay Bruisers. There is no "just".
Funny that they imply that the Bloodsail grind takes so long. It was actually one of the fastest pre-BC grinds I did. Much faster than the Argent Dawn or Timbermaw Hold, and much more fun, too.
Takes around 5 hours if you don't do any Booty Bay quests, not that hard compared to other rep grinds in the game.
This guy is right. Its actually pretty quick. I got friendly with Bloodsail in three days worth of grinding, putting about 3 hours in each day.
Remember, you don't get ANY Achievement points from this one!!!
i dont get y this is a feat of strength, how is this going to be hard when wotlk comes out, it should be a rep achievement
For all we know, the faction may be removed just like the Wildhammer were.
We know that the Amani War Bear is out but it looks to me like the Raptor, Deathcharger and some others may be I think "Feats of Strength" may be a checklist of "scheduled removals".
If I remember right, Blizzard have said that you can get
of the Feats of Strength even in WotLK. I'll try to find source for this.
WotLK: Player Achievements Preview
Feats of Strength
Feats of Strength represent the past glories of Azeroth, and as such, players will find them
-- if not impossible --
They're worth no points, and unlike normal achievements, unearned Feats are not displayed in the achievements interface. Feats include old-world player-vs.-player ranks, obtaining rare mounts, special titles, and more. Feats of Strength will be awarded retroactively (that is, they'll be immediately granted to your character if you qualify) since
many of them will be impossible to earn in Wrath of the Lich King.
It MIGHT be that Blizzard decided to revamp the Bloodsails, make them more like other factions (more quests, new rewards, etc), but decided to remove the older quests as well. I know there have been several petitions asking for Blizz to do something more with them, so maybe they decided to throw that in. Of cource, everything is speculation until Wrath comes out. Either way, I've been killing Booty Bay Bruisers like mad to get my rep up. You know, just in case they DO remove it ;)
it's funny, because i'm a frost mage and i went to BB with a resto shaman for this...we both had all of the BB quests done and were fully hated with the bloodsail, yet it only took us about 4 hours total of gathering up groups of 15 or more and AOEing them down...idk what ppl are talking about, but it takes no time at all. Totally worth the effort for the set.
Yeah... having done both the Bloodsail AND the Wintersaber grind...
Bloodsail is a walk in the park.
if you manage to get a good aoe group to kill BB guards it can be in hours but as a rogue and solo it took me a week to gain friendly with bloodsail and 2 weeks to get back.
Obtaining this achievement will finally grant us the title "Bloodsail Admiral"! Pirates, rejoice, for the battle has been won!
(For people currently on the PTR/Beta, it's going to be added into a future build. Just confirmed a little bit ago by Tigole on the beta forums -
Lol, I solo'd this as a badge geared 70 mage over a weekend. And not a solid weekend.
Probably took 10hrs total. =/
Though, I didn't do any quests that lost Bloodsail rep while I was leveling up. This was a big factor.
Feat of Strength indeed, the guards in Booty bay are level 67 and they hit rather hard on clothies and do take a good beating before they die.
Do not keep them far from you or they will shoot it has pushback effect so there is no telling where you will land and how many more guards you will attract.
its easy over night grind nonetheless, but very mind numbing.
I am rather glad to see that my grind will pay off, grinded the hat for its unique looks and pet.
Hated with Steamwheedle Cartel means you wont get cooking above 225, engineering specializing will be a distant dream, fishing will get stuck at 150, cant land to Un'Goro Crater safely.
if those skills or minor annoyance things wont bother you the hat is worth it.
that is if you have no intenttion to grind the rep back.
If you really want to grind for this I'd recommend having a group of at least another dps and a resto druid. Grinded about 10k reputation in about an hour and a half.
My major concern with doing this was not being able to talk to
. I was afraid I would no longer be able to turn card game loot cards anymore but Landro is not part of the Cartel, therefore,
remains friendly to you
I do not know if you can swim in and talk to him from the water. You may have to fight your way to him, which at 70 would be a pain solo but 80 will not be an issue at all.
This took me 2 days of pretty much straight grinding as a L70 Fire Mage, in rather crappy gear. However, I died enough times to require 3 full repairs.
Generally, I've found I can take one bruiser easily, and can manage two and live, though it'll be close, but three bruisers will kill me. Keep a keen eye out for patrollers- if you get ambushed while fighting, it won't be pretty.
Also, whatever you do, do not go where they cannot reach you in melee. Their guns have serious knockback, and you will most likely die before you ever hit the ground.
A good guide to this can be found on Warcraftpets.com, under the heading "Bloodsail Parrot Booty."
concerning lanndro what i did (being someone deluded with the idea the grind was easy but failed and now i'm 100% hated with steamwheedle and hated with BSB) is stealth into booty bay then popped out right at landro and went bear form giving me enough time to enter the code and not die but for those of us who can't take a head (looking at you, clothies) i suggest bringing a group or atleast a meat sheild 2 gather up aggro and YES u can still talk 2 landro after all he is a member of the black flame NOT steamwheedle
While it can be done solo, it's better done in a group. Every Booty Bay Bruiser killed yields 25 rep in a 1-5 man group and 15 rep in a 6-10 man group. I'm guessing the rep gains would be 5 from 11+ men but didn't check.
1 prot pally
1 Resto Druid
1 Shadow priest
1 Mage (spec doesn't matter)
1 rogue (me)
Pally gets about 10-20 mobs (uses Blessing of Freedom if netted). Mage goes in and arcane explosions while kept up by the druid. Shadow priest keeps the mana up while I have fun with Blade Flurry (evasion tank if needed).
From 1/3 into hated to honored w/ Bloodsail Buccaneers (about 21k rep) in about 3 1/2 - 4 hours.
Keep the mage up! You'll thank them later :)
So, is this Feat of Strength attainable after WotLK, or not. I can't find any sort of list of which are attainable post Wrath, and which you have to have the second Wrath is released.
Can a pirate answer me this, if i grind this achievement, can i still talk to the gnomish engineering trainer that renews your subscription for gnomish engineering? If not, ill wait to do it.
There is a repeatable quest in Feralas that raises rep with steamwheedle without lowering the bloodsail. So getting both to friendly, while greatly more time consuming. is definately possible to avoid this issue.
I did this in a group of 5 and it took about 2 hours.
Well I spent the better part of yesterday farming this.... And let me tell you.... it was long and tedious to say the least..... It took me and 4 other people about 8 hours at half hated with bloodsail at the beginning. But alas! I got my hat and suit ^_^ and it was def worth it! I think in total we killed 1084 Bruisers and every other npc we could get our hands on, Word of advice.... Make sure to have a class that can charge and stun the ones that shoot you. Or you will never get this done. Also when there are members of the opposite faction grinding rep as well.... its wise not to kill auctioneers as they will flag you and waste more time lol.
Obtain the Bloodsail Admiral's Hat...
and try to get some fresh air every now and then.
This comment is quite silly, since farming the Timbermaw rep is
time consuming, repetitive and plain boring. And it awards two rated achiements (15 + 25 points). Killing the bruisers in BB is actually quite entertaining, since they know how to defend themselves and their respawn is ultra-fast. On top of that, the reward for reaching friendly with the pirates is much better that the one for reaching exalted with the Timbermaw.
Getting exalted with Timbermaw Hold is what proves you need to get some fresh air, since it's pointless, while getting friendly with Bloodsail Buccaneers awards you with a cool costume and an extremely rare pet.
I'm still waiting to see someone running around named Bloodsail Admiral Akbar. ;)
For those that did this pre-bc (myself included ^.^) you know how much harder it was this ha ha. Most definitely longer than a few hours :)
Are there any other mobs besides the Booty Bay Bruisers that you can grind to lose rep with Booty Bay?
68 Protection Paladin just finished it, got from Hated to Friendly in about three and a half hours with one 66 friend of mine. Unlike the Wintersaber grind this rep is actually incredibly fun, good luck everyone.
Took me and 4 others about 4 hours today, but was worth it! ^_^
I just love my parrot and the Bloodsail Admiral infront of my name ofcourse =D
Very important! I don ' t care if you hate cooking, get your cooking up to 225 and do the quest in gadgetzan to get artisan cooking before you do this, especially if you intend to try the much more arduous task of trying to keep friendly with the Bloodsail as you grind your goblin reps back up. The fishing book can be bought on an alt or friend, but for cooking you must be at least neutral with gadgetzan.
so if i grind rep back up with booty bay do i lose the title?
Feats of Strength that are
impossible to earn
Amani War Bear
Spirit of Competition
Clockwork Rocket Bot
Blue Brewfest Stein
Yellow Brewfest Stein
Collector's Edition: Netherwhelp
Just to name a few... I wouldn't be too quick to say they'll remove this one since it's been something players have been asking for for a LONG time now.
I started this grind with ~24000 / 36000 Hated. Took us a little under 2 hours and I ended up with honored (kept grinding for a little longer to help other people in the group):
Also it was pretty fun. We greeted each new boat as it docked by ganking Alliance as they got off.
This doesn't even compare to the other pre-bc rep grinds.
I spent upwards of 6 weeks getting exalted grinding CC rep before the AQ gates opened.
They must have nerfed it since 3.0.2... only took myself (70 disc priest) and a 70 Rogue 2 hrs to do, from full hated with Bloodsail... Plus we did it during the Zombie Infestation event... hardest part was going back in to assassinate the leaders. =P
Actually you can have both Bloodsail Buccaneers and Booty Bay friendly by killing Venture Co. mobs at Venture Bay, Grizzly hills. I got 5 rep for Booty Bay and didn't lose any Bloodsail Buccaneers rep and I'm not fully hated with them.
Ah.. How fun this was. I did this yesterday on my Death Knight, and it took
hours. Yes, two hours. I had no quests done for any of the goblin factions, and when I started killing Booty Bay Bruisers, I was 36000/36000 hated with the Bloodsail Buccaneers. After about.. twenty or so kills, I noticed that my Bloodsail faction went from Hated, to 10/3000
. After I saw this, I grinded it out with another Death Knight, who also had this same thing happen.
~Bloodsail Admiral Mmhm
Finished this in a couple of hours, 3 man group (elemental shaman, feral druid and prot paladin)
One thing i would recommend is: if you wanna do it, do it while you're not 77+, that way the guards are still green and give 25+ rep with the buccaneers. If you're 77+, they will give only 5rep per kill, so it will take 5x longer.
I was 75 and the other guys were 78, and when i was friendly already they were still hated/ hostile.
Warning to all those thinking about doing this . . . as of right now (patch 3.0.3) the mobs are still lvl 67 and will only give 5 rep per kill, while still decreasing your Booty rep by 125. DO NOT LEVEL BEFORE DOING THIS GRIND! You will have to kill about 8k mobs, as opposed to 2k.
EDIT: Blizzard fixed this a while back. Happy hunting! :)
obtained by my blood dk 72 solo in 3 hours
yea.. way too easy, just completed this afternoon with a 75 prot warrior, and a 72 unholy DK. took us about 3 hours from hated to friendly.
Level 80 Prot Warrior and level 68 Affi Warlock...
Started off killing, getting 1 or 5 rep per kill depending on the mob... The Warlock hit hostile rep and suddenly recieved 25 rep. When I hit hostile, I still only recieved 5 rep or 1, depending on which mob we killed. Im guessing this is due to the fact I'm 80, reduced reputation gained from killing.
Just thought I would pass on the very unfortunate discovery.
You can gain reputation with all the steemwheedle cartel not losing any rep with the pirates by doing
this repeatable quest
Guys, I have seen some guys runnig around with high rep at Bloodsails but never seen any exalted. The question is that is it even possible to become exa with the pirates? thx for the answers. =)
You Keep the achievement and title even if you do decide to grind back up Booty Bay rep.
And also. This is a Feat of Strength, not because it is unobtainable post-wotlk, but because they do not want to force players to become hated with the goblins trying to get all the achievements.
If you can't just overpower these guards and want to kill them one at a time, go by the ramp that leads from the water to the bottom platform of Booty Bay. There is a guard there that spawns immediatly after you kill the previous one. If you stay right by the ramp, you won't aggro any more after the initial aggro except that guard. This stradegy is good because you will not have to worry about aggroing more than you want.
Do you get xp for killing the guys throughout Booty Bay?
DO NOT wait with this until level 80 thinking it will be a sweet ride - at level 80 you will only receive a tiny 5 rep per Bruiser kill.
I heard that the requirements were you only had to have your reputation up to neutral with the Bloodsail Buccaneers. Is this true or do you need to be friendly?
Is there a certain amount of time for this quest or is it at your own pace?
Me (a level 73 Prot Pally) and a friend (a level 74 Enchance shaman) did this title in about 3-5 hours. It's really easy to get now, even if the rep needed was increased.
After nearly 3 days, roughly 3-5 hours spent each day, I received the title. As a level 80 I only got 5 rep per kill, and started out at 32000/36000 hated with Bloodsail Buccaneers. So I had 13000 rep to grind...that is approx 2600 goblins to kill! It's a long grind, but well worth it!
If your'e leveling a new char and want this achivement, and want to start out early a good idea may be to kill the NPC's around Faldir's Cove. Some of the mobs (Including some mobs that gives xp and drop-loot) gives 5 rep with Bloodsails, some of the other mobs only give 1 rep. They are easy to kill, the respawn time is alittle big but notthing that concerns me.
Im 31327/36000 on my level 80 and yes the bruisers only give 5 rep now, so this grind isn't *VERY* easy at level 80..
(Ignoring the Hated because most peoples are different):
From Hostile>Unfriendly>Neutral>Friendly = 9000 rep
Thats 1800 kills for a level 80 to take them from Hostile to Friendly. Bear in mind raids lower the rep gained. Imo take an aoe group.
I myself have about 2800 kills to go lol.. what a joy.
Many players nowadays didn't play wow before any of the expansions came out thats why there is so many comments about how long it takes to complete this. A person joining wow right now might think that hitting exalted with Netherwing would take forever. The short explanation is people that ARE exalted with the Netherwing didn't have anything else better to do at the lvl 70 xap. The same goes for lvl 60 players before BC.
My UD Priest is honored with Bloodsail Buccaneers.. REALLY Hard to get exalted.. U need to kill more the 7000 Booty Bay Bruisers.. When u get friendly with Bloodsail Buccaneers u get hated with all "Goblins" (Booty Bay, Ratchet, Everlook, Gadgetzan) So the whole Steamweedle Cartel hates you.. There is many of my flight paths thats gone now.. Just good that I still can fly to Area 54 :P
Anyone mind telling me how/when you start to gain rep with the Bloodsail guys, im hated with them and i have been killing bruiser's in ratchet and lose rep with them but dont gain any with the Bloodsail guys.
Do you only gain rep if you kill the bruisers in Booty Bay? the lvl 67 ones?
Or do you have to reach hated or something with Ratchet and all those other goblin places?
A side note.. I'm using a lvl 61 DK so the guys in Ratchet arent grey to me.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but a bit after TBC release they increased the level on booty bay guards from 57 to 67. Has there been any mention of them increasing the level to 77 in the future (and hence, speeding up this achievement for anyone already at 80)?
This is going to be fixed in 3.0.8. Level 80s will now gain full reputation from grey mobs.
Except for the fact that the Goblin Guard mobs will be raising in level again to 77 I believe.
Mate, you have to kill over 1,000 Booty Bay Bruisers. There is no "just".
If you are revered with bootybay, then i believe that its about 8,400 bruisers, killing each bruiser gives you 5 reputation points with Bloodsail Bucaneers. Each Named npc there gives 1 point and potentially calls forth one or more new Bruisers.
Bloosail Bucaneer Plan :
Hated (36,000 : 7,200 bruisers)
Bloodsail Bucaneers will attack you on sight
Hostile (3,000 : 600 bruisers)
Bloodsail Bucaneers will attack you on sight
Unfriendly(3,000, 600 bruisers)
At this point Bloodsail Bucaneers will not attack you on sight.
Neutral (3,000 : 600 bruisers)
Patch 1.11 added
Dressing the Part
for , , and .
Friendly (3,000 : 600 bruisers)
This is as far as you need to go as of patch 3.0.3
At friendly you can get the quests Neutral
Avast Ye, Scallywag
Avast Ye, Admiral!
The reward for completing the quest
Avast Ye, Admiral!
which can be both worn and used to summon a
pet. In Patch 3.0.2, this quest also rewards you with the title
You will also be able to open any of their treasure chests without being attacked.
Friendly (6,000 : 1,200 bruisers)
5% Discount on purchases
Honored (12,000 : 2,400 bruisers)
10% Discount on purchases
Revered (21,000 : 4,200 bruisers)
15% Discount on purchases
Exalted (999 : 199.8 bruisers)
20% Discount on purchases
Since I started this slaughter when I was honoured with bootybay, the loss of honour plan with bootybay was :
Additional Bruisers will not enter combat upon encountering you in combat with other bruisers.
Additional Bruisers will not enter combat upon encountering you in combat with other bruisers.
Additional Bruisers will not enter combat upon encountering you in combat with other bruisers.
I think at this point while fighting bruisers, any patrols or spawns would run into attack me
Entering buildings, attacking named npcs will spawn additional Bruisers(might also happen at Unfriendly too)
Proximity based aggro rules apply, in addition to ; entering buildings & attacking named npcs will spawn additional Bruisers
I'm also pretty sure that reputation gained at each level is a ration of the amount you loose with either faction.
So at honoured with bootybay, with each bruiser killed I gained 25 bucaneer points and lost 125 bootybay points.
There was also some points lost with Gadgetzan, Steamwheedle Cartel, and I think also Everlook.
The amounts of bruiser that need to be killed at each stage obviously varies depending on your standing with both Bootybay and Bloodsail Bucaneers.
It is also worht mentioning that at lvl70 each bruiser yeilds 25rep with the bloodsail bucaneers, where-upon reaching lvl80 the amount rewarded per bruiser drops to 5
..idk what ppl are talking about, but it takes no time at all. Totally worth the effort for the set.
Try it wihtout AOE as a holy priest. takes me about 2hrs to move 1% through the hated stage.
This is with constant pulling.
While it can be done solo, it's better done in a group. Every Booty Bay Bruiser killed yields 25 rep in a 1-5 man group and 15 rep in a 6-10 man group. I'm guessing the rep gains would be 5 from 11+ men but didn't check.
Doing this solo, each bruiser rewards 5 points with the bloodsail bucaneers
Doing this with two people, there is no difference.
Haven't test with three, four or five people yet.
Done this with my level 75 Unholy Death Knight. It was pretty easy thaks to the fact that I didn't do any quest for Booty Bay before and that DKs basicly don't have any major downtimes (no mana, self-heal). It took me 4 x 45-50 minutes and an hour. Bruisers awarded 25 rep, vendors 1 rep and on attack summoned additional guards. Was a bit boring at the end but the award worths it!
Bloodsail rep stop at honored after when you hit revered(0/21000) you need to kill a single mob in blasted land who give 1 rep until you hit 20999...after that to get exalted you need to turn the quest you got when you was friendly or else its impossible to get exalted so you cant said
Revered (21,000 : 4,200 bruisers)
Exalted (999 : 199.8 bruisers)
Collector Edition: Netherwhelp is always possible to do...go on ebay and buy BC collector edition...go on your account info change the Cd key of BC and boom achivement
Just got it at 80 today. Started at rev. and had to kill around 8-10k goblins 5 rep each.
it took me bout 1k gold only to get to neutral with BB and with gadgetan
So think over everthing before masacre in booty bay
I need to be Friendly to talk with the Quest Giver guy?
For me and a 80 I did it with half rep. normal booty bay in a few hours
Twotoe - No you won't lose your title but at the moment it is not going to be a walk in the park to grind back up to neutral with Booty Bay (or the other Steamwheedle Cartel factions) because either you will have to pay enormous amounts of gold for the cloth turn-ins or you will have to grind rep off of the Bloodsail Bucaneers, slaughtering thousands of Bloodsail Bucaneers only will yield 1000 reputation and it would take (seemingly) forever. I recommend to wait it out until the next patch when Blizzard lifts the level limitations on reputation grinding so that even if a mob is grey it will give the normal amount of reputation as it would if you were to be the same level as it. I like this achievement and I like my title but it really still doesn't make me feel unique because there are hundreds more of people who have the same title in my server, I would say it really wasn't worth it as being hated with Steamwheedle Cartel literally blocks out A LOT of other achievements including the recent "Merrymaker" title because if your cooking is low leveled and you need to get it past like 225 or so you need to be atleast neutral with Gadgetzan, so I recommend thinking it over before actually doing it, this is to anyone who is thinking of doing this, I honestly wish I could take back my mindless hours of Bloodsail grinding but I think I'll eventually get my Steamwheedle Cartel reputation back up eventually :D
~Bloodsail Admiral Kinqo, lvl 80 Hunter, Hydraxis
Easy way to do it. Go to booty bay with a group or raid, Click " At War" with Booty bay. Start farming guards, kill em till your friendly with Bloodsail Bucaneers. It's very easy if your level 80, did it in 2 and half hour as level 70 with 4 friends.
I actually have a question here. If you are friendly with bloodsail buccanneers for the title right, and you want to earn back your rep with Booty Bay and all goblin factions, and somehow you become Hostile again with Bloodsail Buccaneers, will you lose your title or not ?
Grinding the rep is not so hard, it's quite quick, BUT grind the goblin reputation back, can be more painful. And if you want to keep bloodsail rep up, then it's really a pain in the ass.
At level 72, as of today I'm getting 25 Bloodsail rep per guard.
Yep! you will put out just shy of 20 Million dps to do this.
Took me about 3 or so hours to solo as 80 Death Knight.
You have to go from hated to unfriendly to neutral to friendly.
All in all, you will need about 9000 rep and each BB guard will yield a scant 5 Bloodsail rep. I love the hat, parrot and title... totally worth it. It is also a feat of strength.
Have fun ya scurvy dogs...
how can ya grind rep back up with them ya are freindly with bloodsail and hated bybooty so ya cant get quests from them..
unless i am wrong if anyone has an answer for me on how to actually get back my exalted status with the bootys and stay freindly with the sailors essage me plz.
i could use the title
Only took me about 3 hours of grinding since rep decay was removed, also the guards are now lvl 77
I am pretty sure that you had to get to honored with the bloodsail buccaneers pre-TBC in order to get the quest. I got my hat way before TBC and when I hit friendly, I went over to the place to get the quest, but I couldn't get it. Grinded my rep to honored made me able to get the quest though.
Lol did this about 2 weeks ago. 1 hour grinding with 1 shaman and paladin lvl 80 everybody. Im Unfriendly with BB atm because i grinded the Bloodsail. Easy to get.
A guildie and myself just grinded for this achievement yesterday, after 3.0.8. Killing the Booty Bay guards now gives 25 rep per kill at level 80, even when grouped, making this grind MUCH faster.
Just knocked this one out as a dk, took me less than two hours.
With the new patch, all mobs give their full rep. now. So each Bruiser is worth 25 rep. with Bloodsail again, even at 80. So this makes it a lot easier to do now.
Easy and fast grind for a lvl 80 paladin. My specc is holy and I did it the grind in about 1½-2h solo.
Grinded this last night, on the latest patch; so for that reason I'll add my thoughts.
25 rep per kill, all in all took me about 3 hours to go from Hated to Friendly.
Your results may vary, but being a tankadin I just aggroed as many as possible whilst trying to avoid getting 'shot' at, as the Bruisers could barely even hit me.
Not sure how tough it was before, but if you're bored and have a few hours to kill, definitely worth the fun!
Got htis yesterday as my level 62 restoration druid with 4 other level 80s who killed the guards. You can get the reputation while a spirit so this will help if you are too low a level. This took approximately 2 or 3 hours because there were 5 of us but one person was almost at minimum reputation with Bloodsail Buccaneers so one of the people managed to nearly get to revered with them.
80 human rogue working towards this achievement at the moment.
Currently 10k rep away from hostile, grinded for about an hour and a half, and was originally deep into hated. Not a bad grind at, considering the 25-28 rep a kill, until you become hostile with Booty Bay and the guards begin to double spawn and attack you before you get the jump on them. I'm thinking this would be much easier done in a group, but for now, we'll see how far I can get soloing. :)
EDIT: Also, I get hit for 400 - 550 each hit from the guards wearing leather. A clothy might find this extremely annoying to solo unless you have healing capabilities.
Just got this today. Took me a few hours of gameplay, really not that difficult.
Bloodsail Admiral Obtain <Ultima>- Level 80 Tauren Death Knight - Dawnbringer (US)
Erm coords for that guy in feralas?
Mate, you have to kill over 1,000 Booty Bay Bruisers. There is no "just".
Actually there is a "just" ^^. A friend(80 warlock) and I(80 Death Knight) we're bored today and got it in three hours and thirty seven minutes. That's counting the few times when we got swarmed and had to run back to our corpses, so really it was only "just" two and a half to three hours.
it actually only took me a little over 3 hours to do it with BB at neutral on my DK... however I'd be inclined to agree if you got Bloodsailor rep to friendly and then grinded BB rep on venture company to neutral so you could maintain both
Hey me and a friend just did this in a hour and a half.
Were both raid geared and hes tank im dps.
We killed about a total of 1,500 guards and npc's.
I read how some people said its hard but this was easy!
"Collector's Edition: Netherwhelp"
This is incorrect. One can earn this achievement under WotLK by purchasing a World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Collector's Edition and going to the account upgrade page and entering the CE key even if you already have both a normal TBC key and WotLK installed.
Bought mine off eBay, worked perfectly. Got the pet and the achievement on all my characters even though I have been using a non-Collector's Edition key for over a year.
just did this on a level 75 boomkin with a holy palidan level 80 and a unholy dk level 80, took err.... 2 hours and 27 mins from 26k rep (hated) with bloodsail to friendly, so it wasnt to bad
As a DK with the standard 2h unholy spec (17-0-54) I did this achievement in just a bit more then an hour. After that all i had to do was pick up the quest for the clothing and kill the fleetmasters for the hat, very easy and fun achievement to do :)
What I did was, kill some npc's in Booty Bay, this will summon more Bruisers for you to AoE. Had almost no moments where I was not fighting some bruisers :)
im like hated 9999 with them il never get that hat
You also can't get Atiesh, given that Naxx40 has been removed.
I do not believe that this title is worth being at war with Booty bay. It was funny doing quests for them and fishing there, so for me they are kinda mates.
i used like 2 hours farming as a prot paly
One of the easiest and more fun rep grinds but it's still a grind, particularly if you have done a bunch of booty bay quests and don't have a group of 5 people who are willing to wreck their goblin rep. I've done it in groups of 2 for about 6 hours or so and I am still hated by the pirates. I'd guess at least another 6 hours or so and I will be friendly.
Course the change to make grey mobs give max rep doesn't matter for this, because they upped the level of the BB guards<.<.
what bothers me is that this is a feat of strength. It is perhaps the most easily obtainable of TITLES, let alone a feat of Strength.
I was seriously not expecting to see it listed as a Feat of Strength, just made me go O.O
will you lose the title if you go back to BB rep?
It is also impossible to get the titles: Champion of the Naaru and Hand of Ad'al.
This is very easy when u have a group of 5 people including a healer and i got it done today in 2,5 hours so i say thats pretty easy
This is so much fun i got like 10 80s and slaughtered booty bay
it was fun killing all the NPC's also watching lowbies not turning
in their quests haha
I think that paragraph is mostly referring to the "First on Server" awards, more than the things now-removed (such as Naxx)
Regardless, I'm happy to see that those players are being rewarded acheivements, but that, since they are impossible, it doesn't count for achievement points for those of us who are trying to max.
I don't understand why Baron Rivendare's mount is a Feat of Strength, though... it's not like it's hard to solo Strat w/ L80, well, anything!
It is hell of a work getting through Ratchet and to the boat when they get hostile... -.-
Every time I get on the boat one of the Bruisers shoot me down from it....
if your an DK and have a group of 5 ppl you can do it (if you didnt do any booty bay rep quests) in lke 2 hour
Edit* You can even solo with a 80 pally
The Achievement is still obtainable as of 12th April 2009, i just got it :D
MS warr-PvP specced-Mediocre gear, 2 and a half hours flat.
Doesn't require 5 people to do, just be able to kill mobs back to back.
I haven't read all of this thread but a few things
Cake as a ret paladin or any other class that can self heal. I had one or two occasions where i needed to LoH but that was only because I wasn't paying attention. Keep using your instant FoL and you will be topped off the whole grind. Didn't need to drink once either.
One thing i'm not quite sure of. Noggenfogger elixer? I prob won't be able to get it anymore will I? Should of stocked up before hand.
One thing i would like to point out that gave me some trouble. Some (or possibly all) of the bruisers will shoot at ya with their little pellet gun. Be careful because it has a knockback effect. I was semi afk and next thing i know i was being shot across the bay. Try and stay close to them to avoid this.
Good luck with the grind :D
Did this today with a group of 4 took arond 1 and a half hour..Imo that isn't that much.
Just kill everything you can in Booty Bay =)
Getting this achievment is worth the cool title u get "
" and is one of the Quicker less common title to get, i did it in 1 night solo at lev 75 in a total of about 5 hours and will always be cooler then a title like "
" so if u find some spare time on your hands and wana get a nice quick title this is something to have in mind.
The best spot to solo the guards in my option is this spot in the back. To get there from the Booty Bay entrence you go left and your gonna see a guard to houses with 1 npc in each house an npc outside the 2nd house and a guard right next to him. If u find urself with out guards to kill just attack a npc cause when u do they spawn a guard and if ur still low on guards u can just go back to the entrence and pull the 2 guards there.
I think it's worth mentioning that you will not be able to participate fully in the BootyBay Fishing Extravaganza after completing this achievement lest you grind rep back with the snotgoblins. So if you have fishing, are colecting titles and want 'Salty' either win the competition before this achievement or start farming Venture Co. mobs to get rep with the goblins and keep your pirate rep, which will lead you to getting part of the requirements for 'Insane in the Membrane' feat
I have done this grind on my death knight at 65, raid group of 20 and got it in less then 2 days, not even straight, working on it with a single 80 pally tank, it is easily soloable till literally pop out of walls and shoot at you, im using my 76 feral/balance dual spec druid and before i got hostile with BB, it was going well, second i got hostile, walked up to help him out and boom, im dead in a few hits from a whole crowd of maybe.. 11 of them at a time?.. use a pally, best for this grind, #1 for sure.
I got a Question, can you get bloodsail admiral title and pirate outfit along with achievement and kill bloodsails for rep with BB back, although i know you can just do Venture co, this may be faster, just asking cause i would want to keep rep and i get bored and raid x-roads sometimes, dont want to be knocked clear across the boat even while im 30 feet away >.<
FWIW, I tried to use the script from the top of this page to put the link for the achievement into chat and it
me every time. I don't have the achievement, so it's not listed in the achievement's window at all. Maybe that's why.
From Eepi's comment above "... unlike normal achievements, unearned Feats are not displayed in the achievements interface."
i got this title in less than 2 hours with me boomkin warr prot arcane mage rogue and a priest for heals
Took me around 2 hours to do this by myself as a frost Death Knight.
You can hit the NPCs (non-guards) and they'll bring out more bruisers to aid them, I ran around the part where the bankers are and did Blood Boil to grab them all and ended up having around 12 bruisers attacking me at one time.
Yeah his was the easiest rep grind I've ever done. Soloable at level 80. (Except Horde kept attacking me to try and stop me from slaughtering goblins, but they didn't pose much of a challenge since whenever they attacked me, bruisers would attack them XD)
I had the luck of starting at 0/36k with them, and after looking for three days for a group (and having a mage join for ten minutes and then drop) I just decided to solo as a 80 SV hunter. I didn't bother pulling out a tenacity pet, so it probably took me a lot longer than it should have - around 10 hours in total, 7.5 for the first 36k and 2.5 for the last 9k. Not difficult at all, but terribly boring, as most grinds (Nether Ray, Cenarion Expedition, etc.) that I've done seem to be. But the title, hat and clothing is more than worth it. =]
Solo'd in about 2 hours @ 80 as an Unholy Death Knight. Funny that they hint it takes a long time. It didn't take nearly as long as Kurenai, but the title isn't nearly as neat as the Cobalt Riding Talbuk I got from Kurenai.
80 Death Knight, 1 hour dead.
Another way to get rep with ´the goblins without losing rep with Bloodsail Buccaners is to kill Venture co. Miners in stv without losing Bloodsail Buccaners rep
5rep with Booty Bay
3 rep with all other
ARRrrrRR! Avast ye ^&*!@es, I am now a member of the Bloodsail!
Last night was ridiculously insane! Had a warlock, another mage, a Pally, and a DK. We wrecked all of booty bay last night right on the main docks where you get off the boat all the way to the INN, and then we worked our way up stairs and then jumped down onto the deck and went back to where the boat drops you off. I figure, at the rate those little @#$%^es were spawning... I went from hated to ALMOST reverend in about a 1 hour and 1/2.
Got all three quests done, and time to work on getting my rep back up.
I assume you can kill the goblins in Ratchet and Gadgetzan as well?
This achievement is not as difficult as it may seem. It only took my level 80 buddies and I two to three hours to do at most. It basically began with us fooling around in STV (wiping the enemy base, killing low-level enemy faction "newbies") when I told them as a joke that we should go get the Bloodsail achievement (I believed then that it would take forever and they would laugh it off). They ended up taking me seriously and we spent the next few hours grinding our pirate rep up to friendly.
Getting the pirate hat/parrot was awesome. And the Bloodsail pirate uniform was just another bonus. But my favorite was getting the title "Bloodsail Admiral", which to me is simply too awesome for words.
please be aware that achieving the title and obtaining these bonuses will get you to Hated or at the very least Hostile with all the Steamwheedle goblin factions.
There are many consequences involved with dropping to this level of rep, examples including loss of access to all the neutral Auction Houses (AH), inability to purchase the highly popular "Noggenfogger Elixir", and have nearly all goblins across Azeroth attack you on sight. That said, just be sure to consider the consequences before doing this quest.
Indeed there are ways to reverse your reputation with the goblins, but these methods are all costly, or highly time-consuming. I, for one, was at 0/36000 Hated with Booty Bay by the end of the pirate rep grind, so I'm not planning on being able to speak to a goblin any time soon. Oh well, at least I have a good excuse if a level 30 ever begs me to help them in Stranglethorn.
Something to note is that a rogue's vanish seems to have no effect on the bruisers besides halting their attack for less than a second. They continue to attack you after the vanish animation, even with the "Improved Stealth" buff from Vanish. You can, however, easily stealth past them at level 80 while out of combat with 3/3 MoD.
It's been asked a few times, but everyone's failed to address it.
If you have the title and you grind your rep back up with the Cartel, do you lose the achievement?
Do you think this feat of strength is doable with a 60 warlock and 60 priest or would you recommend a 80 boost
Now how do i reverse it easly? without taking 2 years to do so
This was obtanable for a lvl 20....i helpd my friend out.
he wasnt able to get the title er the cloths D=
Doing during pirates day right now and got enough people to get a party going, its a much faster way to gain rep this way.
Now although this may take a short time to complete, you'll be spending ALOT more time, trying to get back to neutral.
It's a pain to do, and not been able to go to the cities really has a straining affect on you.
I suggest you gather the mats before hand, then you know you're up to the challenge.
Don't be naive and just decide one day you want to do it.
I am lazy which is the reason I haven't got neutral, but I know they are other lazy people out there who will struggle to do so as well.
Good luck farming this achievement and getting back to neutral!
Just finished this last night and wanted to share my thoughts.
I don't think it was mentioned but...
Rep, unlike exp, is not divided groups. Everyone in your group gets full rep for every kill.
That said I really can't encourage you enough to do this with two or more people. I ran this (80 Rogue) with two friends (80 DK and 80 Shaman) and it took about 4 hours. Solo would have probably taken much more than 12. I think I was hated by Bloodsail roughly 26000/36000 when I started.
Bring food/bandages/mana/pots just in case. Trust me, you'll use them. Tanking as a Rogue I was never really in danger of dying with my pulls, but the fast respawns can catch you off guard. You're going to get beat on almost nonstep. What really helped was my engineering repair bot. You won't be able to repair in Booty once you're Unfriendly. Keep that in mind.
Plan a route. Fight inside as much as possible. LoS rules don't even really apply here as many times Bruisers we couldn't even see shot us repeatedly through walls. When this happens - save your friend. Get into melee range of the shooter to make him put his gun away. Disarm works wonders here.
Our route started in the NE corner of the first large building on the lower level (huge mob pulls here when hated), ran quickly into the next house, worked our way up the stairs, behind the top level building (so as not to get shot into the water), into the Inn, up and out, across and then dropped back down into the starting point. Each loop took about 20 minutes. I know there is a website that shows where to pull and such, but trust me, if you're in a group you're going to want to kill much faster than that.
Npc's, Horde, Flight Masters, anything you can to get more rep and spawn more Bruisers.
Lastly, is it worth it?
As silly as this sounds I did all of this without realizing there was a title involved with the acheivement. The hours of pandamonium in Booty Bay, the confused look you can just feel on every passer by, the pirate life! If you've ever found yourself frustrated with WoW, it's ever changing/nerfing nonsense, this is an awesome change of pace. It's fun for the sake of being fun. Which is what a game should be at the end of the day.
One more thing. To really complete the pirate look I recommend getting a few things.
(It summons a freaking cannon!)
Piccolo of the Flaming Fire
(Even pirates dance)
(Look at what the Fleet Master carries)
Mug O' Hurt
(Pirate's be thirsty!)
There are plenty of other items that look great, that's just what I went with. Defias Rapier is awesome, as are the shield's that look like ship wheels.
woot 100th comment...
but in all seriusness i have a pally 78 tank spec would it be recommened to get 80 first before i grind rep or just try now?
I may have missed it. But if you're Friendly or better already with BB, how can you attack the guards? The only solution i can think of right now is by attacking horde there. Which isnt the best method for fighting the guards on your terms.
Do you get to keep the cool hat and stuff if you grind your rep back to friendly with ratchet? I ask because I only want the hat and title, but I still wanna be able to go to Ratchet and BB and stuff without getting slowed down by guards.
Me and 6 of my guildies did it in about and hour and a half. Not hard at all.
"I killed thousands of innocents, and all I got was this lousy hat"
This is actually one of the easiest rep farms to do. The only real tips i have for people doing this is to check to see if anyone in the area is doing quests in BB. It's kinda rude to go around killing the people other people need to turn the quest they just spent an hour farming(
)then having to wait for the quest giver to respawn. Also try and avoid the elite guards if you're doing this during fishing tournament. One last thing: on the final quest for this you ARE gonna be slowed down by at least 10 guards on your way to the target(Pretty much the only hard thing in the entire quest for my DK)PvP trinkets and undead and human and gnome racials may help there.Good luck on getting your hat and title!
Guards in Booty Bay aren't attack-able anymore. Go to Ratchet.
Achievement is actually quite easy. If you're dedicated (And have no life) you can easily get it in a single day. Just head over to Booty Bay, since it seems to have the most density of
in one place, and just kill away. If you're a geared 80 it should take no more than 5 or 6 hours.
How do we Get reputation back fast with Steamwheedle cartel once we get this Achievement? I've been killing loads of bloodsails but they only decrease bloodsail rep by 25 ea kill and give like 2 rep ea kill
did it in an hour or hour and half tops, me in my unholy/frost/blood offspec half the time then other half full blood, a mage who was with us for 45 mins or so, and a blood dk, we even killed 12 allies including an 80 mage that i can 2 shot lol id say was good run
The friendly is really easy for players who havent leveled much in stv since they propably start whit low reputation to booty bay(Recruit a friend or just if u beeen doing instance since new lfg tool) and its doable as raid u can get many high lvls to aoe all the guards down it goes pretty fast :) + u can get this at 55 so if u got mates who are making raid just go and join :) tho you can also join at lower lvl and wait as ghost while they kill guards and when u ding 55 later then take quest and there u go nice title:)
rly eezy waht to say ;)
I have a newb question... I am on chinese servers and we are stuck at level 70. I want to grind this rep... and the mobs are now 77 here also... so I am guessing I would need at least a group of 5 to help me grind up.. or would I need more since mobs are red to me at level 70~ Thanks in Advance
If your going to get this title, I would suggest taking a group of heavy AoE classes. I did it with 80 ret, 80 boomkin and 74 destro lock (me). I took no longer than 1 hour and 30 minutes. LoL. Starfall + Divine Storm + Concencration + Hurricane + Shadowfury + Rain Of Fire = AoEGG
The easiest way to do this is buy going to Booty Bay, grind the guards, untill they attack on site, then have a group member run all around the inn, gathering as much as possible. while this is going on the rest of your group waits outside of the inn. when the person that went inside get all of them, they should jump off the inn and run to the group. when the mobs come, blow all AoE CD's, i.e. StarFall, Divine Storm, Shadowfury, flamestrike, ect, ect ,ect...
Another helpful hint. DO NOT FARM THE GUARDS BY THE BOAT DECK! AS THEY HAVE GUNS THAT CAUSE YOU TO GET KNOCKED BACK OFF THE DECK INTO WATER, they also follow you and keep pushing you farther into the water.
Good luck, hope you have fun with the grind.
Fair warning.... THIS IS NOT WORTH THE LITTLE GREEN MEN ATTACKING YOU!
That is all. Thank you.
Edit: Ah yes... that and the fact that it hinders several other factors of the game, including transportation for alliance, loremaster somewhat, etc.
considering how many goblin towns there are in game and also that they are all from the same faction unless you want a lengthy grind back to neutral i advise not to try for this (i learned this the hard way lol)
After getting this title can you befriend booty bay again and keep the title?
It took me an hour overall to gain this achievement, it easy, why must everyone complain?
Grinded from 'bout 15k/32k hated all up to honored with me matey druid. It only took us arrr couple of hours (less than 5). Now I'll be gettin' me the
Winterfin Patch of Honor
to complete the look. Arrrrrr!
Call me crazy...or even - pun intended - insane, but I guess I'll be goin'for
Insane in the Membrane
...I should get some fresh air first though.
I have been working on this for a while. I got sick of it. Could not fully figure out how to do it all. Any tips?
You can still get this achievement as of 4.0.1 (Title Still Included).
It was surprisingly easy with a healer, it took me and 1 healer 2 1/2 hours to get this. My rep was at friendly with Booty Bay and Half way into hated with Bloodsail when I began.
Tip - Stock up alot of cloth (Silk Cloth, Linen Cloth, Mageweave Cloth, Runecloth) before you start this achievement or it will be a pain getting into the citys or even talking to some flight path NPCs.
still obtainable at 4.0.3 ?
Getting the Bloodsail title and parrot wasn't worth losing the rep with the goblin cities.
I wasn't able to get any of the Bloodsail Quests post-shattering, even though I had the rep done pre-shattering (I was trying to grind to exalted before it, and hoping to finish the grind post-shattering until I saw the guards @ 85 smacking me for 25000 damage). I filed a ticket with the GMs two days ago, no response as of yet. Also filed a bug report on the forums here:
If they removed the FoS, Hat, Achievement, etc for the reputation in 4.0.3a, they sure as hell haven't told anyone about it. The only news about the Bloodsail I can find is that Booty Bay guards can be grinded up to Exalted with them now, so as not to interfere with quest progression (how, I have no idea).
At first try to obtain quests, I was 0/36000 with all Steamwheedle factions, and Revered with the Bloodsail Buccaneers themselves. Since then, I've started grinding pirates in the hopes of at least hitting 35999/36000 Hated with Booty Bay so I can enter Gadgetzan or Ratchet at a minimum, but I still can't access quests with the Bloodsail, only their vendors (when they spawn).
Can you still get this title?
Fixed as of December 14.
When reputation with the Bloodsail Buccaneers is friendly, players can now accept the quest "Avast Ye, Admiral!" from Fleet Master Firallon.
Thy best way 2 farm rep is go here
, there 4 nps 1K hp. You can get 5 rep for each kill.
Rep farming with Bloodsail is currently bugged. If you have the quest achievements from Southern STV you can only AoE the guards/npcs in Booty Bay. You can still farm rep, but you need a tank who hasn't done the quests in Southern STV.
I have not and I will not report this bug, if you want it fixed you will have to report it yourself.
The best way to farm rep with Bloodsail atm is killing the mobs in Faldir's Cove. I made 583 rep in 10 minutes with 10% rep bonus from my guild (non human). By farming them you don't need to find a group to kill the guards in Booty Bay, and there is no way you will wipe if you have a high leveled character.
For god's sake already it's "LOSE"!
One friggin' 'O'.
If you get confused, just remember the mnemonic: "Loser" is what your daddy became in high school, "looser" is what your mama became in high school. Back when high schools actually taught spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Faldir's Cove isn't a good place to farm reputation for the Buccaneers but the only good place to do so, now the solo farming in Booty Bay is peculiarly impossible. The mobs that can be killed are 5, 2 of them rewarding 27/28 rep and 3 - 5/6(guild perk counted). My calculations show that I've earned between 2000 and 2500 reputaion per hour.
So this is just a theory, but working on my loremaster I came across something interested. Around 35 quests into the zone, you phase out BB into a warzone where the bloodsail pirates begin attacking. Interesting enough, this changes the BB Bruisers to lvl 35 to compare them with the mobs, but give 0 rep.
I turned on war with all the factions and began killing the quest givers/merchants/auctioneers etc gaining rep. Not sure how fast this truly is as i'm not farming the achieve, but it's a nice change for any lower level that wants to get it, or anyone who can't farm the BB Bruisers. Some of the mobs gave upwards of 15+ rep a kill.
This is basically impossible to get now lol, unless you have a couple resto shammys with you and a tank haha. I got this title when wrath of the lich king came out, even then i was carried by a few geared players aha :D
Good luck to all whoever want this title in the future, its near impossible to get now ^_^
I did it, i got this achievement today =)
I did it solely on the mobs in faldirs cove, since i'm a squishy priest and bruisers would hand my behind to me within 2 blows.
So yes i spent my days in faldirs cove.
I would not advise this to anyone though because it takes forever.
There is 5 mobs you can kill in faldirs cove.
4 of them spawn within 10 / 12 minutes of which 2 grant 27.5 rep per kill (guild reward rep increase counted)
1 mob Shakes o'Breen spawns within 20 seconds and grants 5.5 rep per kill (guild rewar rep increase counted)
I started at 0 / 36k hated so it was one hell of a grind.
Thankfully i have two screens and shakes spawn in the same position every time.
So while watching a movie on my other screen i just had my mouse pointer at his location and kept blindly clicking it while also hitting my Devouring plague button.
Unless you realy realy want this and can't find a group, don't do it like this.
It's mind numbing!
And please consider the lowbies questing there as the mobs do have some quests for them, if you see a lowbie lay off the other mobs for a while till they are done and only kill Shakes o'Breen for a while.
All in al it was one hell of a mind numbing ride :)
Bloodsail Admiral in Cataclysm:
I've recently grinded the title on my warrior with my friend on his hunter.
The first thing that comes to anyone's mind is grind Bruisers, but since 4.0 they are level 85 and they hit like trucks, so if you plan on doing it that way, bring a tank and a healer, for you will surely need them. We've tried to kill them, but it involved lots of kiting, lots of running and really takes up a lot of time and focus. In the end you will feel like you can't dps your way out of a
It took us about eight hours starting off close to
to Avast Ye! Admiral (and thus the title!).
to be the best location, pretty easy to get to from Twilight Highlands.
You will have to kill
a couple of thousand times. He respawns pretty quickly, but awards 5 to 6 rep per kill (with the guild perk)
Have fun trying to kill Shakes in different shapes, patterns and inventing new abilities like
There's a few other NPCs at Faldir's cove, but they have a lengthy spawn time, roughly 10 minutes, but they reward about 25 reputation per kill, so be sure to kill them when they (re)spawn
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Admiral has left the
Earning your title in Cataclysm, the relatively painless way.*
*Please excuse my horrible linking skills; this is my first Wowhead post. ^_^;
If you have not done any of the Stranglethorn quests prior to Cataclysm, or were partially done and had the whole zone reset on you (as in my case), you can use the following guide to have really easy grind.
Note: You will get capped at 11999/12000 Honored.
1. Do some quests. No, really.
- Talk to Sea Wolf MacKinley and do his two quests -
- This will unlock
from First Mate Crazz. As you can see on that quest's page, there's a whole chain of quests to go through while you rub elbows with the Bloodsails at the bidding of Baron Revilgaz. Sadly, you do not earn Bloodsail rep for doing these quests.
- At the end of the quest chain, you'll be sent to your very own Captain's chambers aboard your own pirate ship (woo!), where you find Captain Stillwater's Charts. It begins a third, smaller, quest chain in which you sabotage the Bloodsails (
), learn about
, and head back to Booty Bay to report your findings to Baron Revilgaz.
- Once you have accepted
, stop what you are doing. The area phases as soon as you accept this quest. All of the NPCs in Booty Bay are dropped down to level 35 for the event.
2. Set your status with Booty Bay to "At War."
3. Have fun killing things!
- Everything is now much easier to kill, as they are all 35.
- Booty Bay Bruisers do
give you rep during this phased event. You
kill other, named NPCs around Booty Bay for reputation. The only named NPC you cannot kill is Myizz Luckycatch the fishing trainer, who is dangling from the rigging outside the Inn.
- Rough breakdown of rep by NPC:
Baron Revilgaz – 27-28 per kill
Rickle Goldgrubber (banker #1) – 27-28 per kill
Viznik Goldgrubber (banker #2) – 27-28 per kill
Grizzlowe (shipmaster) – 27-28 per kill
Wharfmaster Lozgil – 15-16 per kill
All other named NPCs – 5-6 per kill
Auctioneers & Bruisers give no rep.
You may have to kill some bruisers because they get in your way, like the one by Seahorn.
(I did not write down any information about how much Steamwheedle rep you lose with each kill, unfortunately. You will, however, end up fully hated with all four Steamwheedle cities somewhere along the way)
- Two useful paths to grind out this rep:
Start at the end of the dock where Grizzlowe is cowering. Make your way up the dock (right side, not towards the entrance), and head into the Black Market building. Kill everyone inside, then come out, mount up, and fly over the building to the main entrance. There's a path up there with a couple buildings; kill the 5 or 6 guys standing out front, and Dizzy One-Eye, who is across the first bridge. Keep going across the “back” of Booty Bay, hitting up the profession shops, until you reach the Alliance flight point (platform next to the hanging shark). Jump down, which puts you at the start of…
Kill Jutak, then head into the inn. Kill the 2 goblins and the gnome drinking right inside the door. Run all the way upstairs, killing Catelyn and Deeg along the way. (Don't worry about those two rooms across the bridge-thing from Catelyn; no one's in them.) Now you're on the balcony with the Baron. Kill him, then take the little side path around the corner to the Horde flight point. Kill Kebak and the Bruiser (and try not to hit the Horde flightmaster. He’s still 85 and hits like a truck), then jump down into the bank area. Kill both bankers and Privateer Bloads (sitting in the back behind them). Run up the ramp back towards the hanging shark, and kill Fleetmaster Seahorn, Sea Wolf McKinley, and Fin Fizracket (the sick goblin lying in the little alcove next to Seahorn). You won't be able to tab-target Fizracket, but he will give you rep if you kill him.
For the most part, I did laps of Route 2. It took between 50-75 seconds to do each lap, depending on if a Bruiser had netted me, and for the most part, by the time I got back to an NPC, it had respawned. Jutak and one of the drinking goblins have longer respawn timers, so you won't get them on every lap. Sometimes Shaky Phillipe will run by, giving you some rep, and a few blessed seconds free of his inane yelling. The bankers occasionally take a little longer to spawn. If you do Route 2 a lot and find that the NPCs aren't spawning fast enough for your liking, fly across the harbor and do a run of Route 1. You can get all the way up to 11999/12000 Honored rep by using this phased quest.
4. The absolute best part about this phased quest?
You can pick up and complete
, earn 550 Bloodsail rep for it, and then keep going! The ship The Crimson Veil is where you can pick it up, and normally it’s docked off the Wild Shore in the south. However, because of phasing, it can now be found at the mouth of Booty Bay, next to the island with the statue on it.
Edited for clarity and to update rep cap
If you haven't done the quests where you become a pirate and betray the Bloodsail, go read the comments on the Doublerum quest. Exploiting the phasing bug is the fastest and least expensive way to get this achievement. It will wreck Booty Bay for you until you can figure out how to get back in good with the gobbies. It will also present problems in that you can't see the transit ship in Booty Bay.
Bloodsail, however, is a big pita, since cata. The guards are damn hard kill to solo, you can die very easily. (esp if you are a clothie like me) Unless you have a 5 man raid with tank and heals. The NPCs in arathi highlands NO LONGER EXIST to give you the easy farmable, if slow rep. The only people there now are a couple of friendly NPCs.
however, you can grind rep during a questline in booty bay the bruisers will drop down to level 35. the Bruisers don't give rep but the NPCs do, like shop keepers etc. See Above: Braelin's post. <<< very good explaination
The easiest way that i did this was go frost and fly near the baron and fleetmaster then dismount and howling blast them swim away to lose Bruiser aggro then rinse and repeat
this is easily done with 5 ppl, takes about 3 hours
There are a few more NPCs you can't kill:
, a male undead standing in the corner next to Jutak. He gives you the quest
. I'd assume there's an NPC like him for the Alliance, but I don't know who/where he/she is.
, part of the Explorer's League. Female dwarf sitting on the second floor of a three-story building in the Southeast.
, part of the Reliquary. Female blood elf sitting on the second floor of the building with "Sea Wolf" McKinley in it.
And, of course, the flight master for your faction.
You can get a sail to Ratcher by waiting till the ship leaves the Booty Bay and then jump on it. You can´t see or mount it while it´s at port if you are near it.
If you are working on/considering the bloodsail rep grind then please read!
Probably the fastest, easiest and safest way to do this is to farm the phased version. However there are a lot of little details that some people have overlooked. (long post inc!)
P.S (I just checked and this seems to still works as of 4.3)
How do I start the chain?
I’m going to assume you have read the other posts and know what I’m talking about when I say “phased BB” This is how you get it. First mate Crazz starts the quest chain so just do everything he has to offer you. Some people say you can start this without doing the quests from “sea wolf” Makinley first but I did the quests before checking so I can’t confirm that- so if the goblin doesn’t give you the quest go to Sea Wolf. After spying/sabotaging the bloodsail ships you report your findings at bb, bring a goblin a beer and the Bay gets phased. If you have ways of gaining more rep I recommend you use them at this point. (World event buffs, tabard, standard, new stuff Blizz has come out with when this post is old and outdated ;P)
So what perks do I get from this vs farming the cove or grouping with friends and killing normal
Fast/reasonable respawns. There will always be something nearby to kill.
Bloodsail quests can be picked up right in the bb docks
No pvp gankers
Lower lvl twinks can do this/ gain rep from friend doing this while in a group. (keep in mind the lvl requirements for the admiral quest though.)
The attacking bloodsail npcs wont decrease your rep if you have to kill them and at hostile they wont bug you anymore
The TCG npc are still there and friendly.
I doubt blizz meant for this to happen so sooner or later expect it to get fixed/nerfed
The zone is phased so no one can see you. (although at one point a low lvl worgen did the quest and we could see each other.)
The boat to Ratchet is gone so the only way to get on it is to mount up and wait for it outside the phased zone and jump in before it vanishes. (never had to do it so idk if it would work or if you would be attacked.)
There is NO way to make phasing go away without grinding back to neutral so unless you plan on the “Insane” or can get a gm to fix it- its stuck like that. Curse or blessing depending on how you look at it.
Although the bloodsail ships are right there, you can’t get the quest from them unless you have flying. So if you don’t have flying you need to convince a friend with a 2 seat mount to fly you over there or summon you. (and keep in mind they can’t see you or the ships so they will be flying blind)
The flight masters still work and are still 85 so try not to click them and die horribly.
Is you leave/get summoned out of bb 85 guards may start showing up due to phase bleeding and it will take lots of relogging, reloading, restarting and running around to fix it. (It fixed itself for me after I logged out on a fp just before I landed)
Also if you have a pet be careful. You share the decrease in goblin rep when your pet kills something by its self but NO bloodsail rep.
My farming route starts outside the Inn. I kill Seahorn, Sea Wolf, the guy passed out under the overturned half of a boat and the female orc. I clear out the Inn, jump down, kill the bankers, kill seahorn and friends again and run over to the bird vendor on the other side of the bay. (usually jumping off the ramp and landing on the roof so I can shoot the goblin on the roof and skip guards)I kill everyone inside then clear out the docks were the boat to ratchet used to dock. Then take the ramp up towards the exit and clear the npcs off to the side. Take the bridge over to the second level of houses, take the ramp up to the third level and clear out the npcs. Make sure to get the tailor and herbing vendors before jumping down to the back street and kill the firework vendors before running back down to seahorn and starting over.
Fun notes: Kill “shaky” Philipe whenever you can... pretend he’s the rare mother ship from space invaders or something. His screaming will drive you crazy if you don’t kill him. Also notice the cute little worgens on the roof drinking…because they are cute =D
Hope this help, good luck!
Now I have to go throw cloth a goblins until they forgive me for reducing their towns population to 5… ;_;
Rape pillage and burn, send them to their graves!
<--This here cursed scoundrel cannot be saved!
Loot all the ships, then let em sink!
Say no to the bath and yes to the drink!
Yo, ho, ho a pirates life for me!
P.P.S(and really bad eggs? O.o)
Happy farming ! :)

Just got this achievement a few days back. Didn't kill a single Booty Bay Bruiser. All I did was to camp at Faldir's Cove and kill the NPCs over there for a night or two. The NPCs there are Captain Steelgut, First Mate Nilzlix, Deckhand Moishe, Doctor Draxelgauge , Professor Phizzlethorpe and Shakes O'Breen.
It's really easy because Shakes O'Breen has a 12-15 seconds respawn timer. He gives 5 rep per kill. Basically you're camping this guy, while waiting for the other guys to respawn. First Mate Nilzlix spawns on the same bridge where Shakes O'Breen is standing and he nets 27 rep per kill.
The three guys sitting around the fireplace are worth abou 30+ rep, so just walk over and wipe them then come back to Shakes O'Breen. Because of the short respawn time of Shakes O'Breen, ignore the Deckhand Moishe which spawns in the ship. Flying up, finding him and coming down again is not worth it, because Moishe gives 5 rep just like Shakes O'Been.
So basically I minimised my WOW Client and played some movies, and hitting Holy Shock every 15 seconds. Every few minutes or so, I maximise my WOW Client, turn around and go kill First Mate Nilzlix and the other guys sitting around the campfire, then run back to where Shakes O'Breen spawns. Then I minimise my WOW Client and continue watching my movie while I hit Holy Shock. =)
Avast, Ye Admiral / The Insane HELP!
Here is the situation. I decided to do "the insane" title. There is a quest in Booty Bay called "Prepare for take off" where everything goes into phase. The Bruisers are only lvl 35. I worked my pirate rep up to honored while in this phase state. While in this phase state and once I had the appropriate rep, I was able to pick up the "Avast, Ye Admiral" quest. I complete the requirements (killing the 2 NPC's) and went immediately to turn the quest in only to find the quest giver now phased. In a matter of 1 min, I am not able to turn in the quest.
I also can't turn in the quest to "un-phase" Booty bay because I am now hated with the goblins. I cant repair my goblin rep to make the un-phase quest turn-inable because it will damage my Bloodsail rep and make the Admiral quest giver hated.
I contacted customer support and got no assistance. I honestly think this is bugged. The bloodsail quest giver went phase in such a short amount of time.. makes no sense to me. any help would be greatly appreciated!
I got the cool outfit and title but I lost all my goblin friends :'(
If you get this, the fastest way to get your rep back up with the goblins is to turn in cloth at the people located at the outside of the goblin cities.
You need additonal supplies to turn in besides the cloth.
I havn't seen it yet so I'd throw it out there.
To track this achivement do:
If you want to link it in trade chat to get more people into your group.
Don't forget to add Skulls and Stars.
Got it at lvl 60, definately worth it for the head turns and "howd you do that at 60?"
I wouldn't suggest soloing this at 65 like some others have done
i would wait for at least a lvl 70-75... I think its obvious that you would die if your not hardy enough. If you do i would suggest having a healer to call up for a backup plan.. Just in case. I'm not trying to discourage anyone, but these bruisers hit
and i mean
when your lower than the usual rep farmer. Have fun farming! <3 ---Posi
So many comments so I apologise if this has been mentioned already - as of Cata this achieve is a feat of strength so no achievement points.
After that achievement be ready with tons of Silk cloth so that you can earn back most of the reputation with Booty Bay.
If I could recommend anything, I'd say to do the non phased version. It is very helpful that the mobs are one shot at 85, but you don't get rep from guards. You also can not do any other thing in southern STV while you are phased. You will need to acquire all the silk back, and then turn in the quest before unphasing booty bay.
As of MoP, I find most kills grant 5-7 exp, with only one or two granting 25-30, including Revilgaz. Also, several NPCs are lvl 40-60; so far, only Bruisers are reduced to 35.
in WotLK i made a dk got to level 80 got full HC gear from dungeons and grinded the rep in one day was really easy even own my own... but i can't walk into BB now :S
If you earned this achievement before the
April 14, 2014 hotfix
, you now have credit for the Bloodsail rep requirement for
April 23, 2014 blue post
. In addition, it was confirmed to me by a GM, who stated the following.
That's correct! As long as you have the other reps it should automatically give you criteria for Bloodsail. If not though feel free to contact us so we can grant that criteria.
While Booty Bay is phased, you can only gain rep with Bloodsail. Killing everyone with AoE is easy (no need to target) and Bloodsail can be looted. Once you've raised rep to Unfriendly with Bloodsail, check "at war" with them so you can continue to kill them if you want to continue looting. Again, your rep can only improve while Booty Bay is phased.
Got this achievement in my Orc warlock. I really, really, really love this whole pirate-theme. Would love to see a whole new Pirate Expansion for Warcraft.
I don't get why this is hardly mentioned anywhere but good Thor-Almighty Raptor Jesus, after failing to kite Fleet Master from his ship with a buddy mentioned earlier somewhere on this rep-farm thread, I found out on the Blizz-Forums that Fleet Master Firallon is on a NEW SHIP in BOOTY BAY while you might be phased for Double-Rum quest and I turned my friendly Rep in and got my title and hat! FFS... Why has no one mentioned this before?
Anyone else confused AF about which npc to go to for the rep farm on Pirates Day. Once u have hated and friendly, Fleet Master Firallon is on the middle ship on the bottom deck... 47,94 coords.
I couldn't find any of the npcs talked about in the guides in the places they said they were, they either weren't there or were and had no Q... was revered before I finally found this guy.
I turned in Return to Revilgaz, and now I'm beyond the phase. Is it too late to get the ach? WHAT do i do?
Ok, so if you're like me and you've just done the grind to get to Honoured for
by doing the phased approach, you can still do this by going to the OTHER location if you're phased. Ignore the original boat location for the Crimson Veil (46,95) but go to the location north of Booty Bay (35,66) and Fleet Master Firallon is below decks and offers two quests (at revered):
(instant turn in)
You can still do these in the phased locations.
It seems that you can get this quest and achievement at friendly
Make sure if you're grinding guards in Booty Bay that you activate war mode. Guards are much more difficult to kill with war mode off.
If you're here for Pirate Day and have been killing
like everyone else and now can't pick up the quest line in the guides (
, etc.), never fear! The quest line is
necessary for this achievement. (It is used to phase Booty Bay to make the rep grind easier, but with ilvl ~460 gear, killing
is easy enough.)
I started with
done but none of the following quests (that I checked), and ~34k/36k Hated Bloodsail Buccaneers rep (i.e. not far from Hostile, I'm not sure what the starting rep is). This is what worked for me:
Under Reputations, select Classic > Steamwheedle Cartel > Booty Bay, and tick "at war".
until you're Friendly with Bloodsail Buccaneers. (If you just kill
and not the low-level NPCs, they will keep spawning for a bit. You may have to be Unfriendly or Hostile with Booty Bay before they start spawning like this.)
You should now be Hated with Booty Bay (if not, keep killing).
(47 95) and pick up
Kill Fleet Master Seahorn and Baron Revilgaz and turn in thie quest. This should award
If it is Pirate Day, go to
(40 84) and buy
I have no idea if this is faster than doing the questline and doing the rep grind in phased Booty Bay.

Lots of fun yells. Over 170 and most are lore related too. It's perfect for joining in the fun at Booty Bay.
It really is a lot of fun when several players are using this AddOn at once! I hope you enjoy using it as much as I had fun making it! I make a lot of AddOns but this one by far was the funest! Yarrr!
