As the achievement says kneel before the boss before the fight begins, you are given a debuff which adds an additional mechanic similar to delve Kyeveza. A shade of yourself will spawn frequently. When it spawns you must face it or you will die, complete the fight with the mechanic and the others and you will be granted the achievement.

DO NOT try this in progress groups. The 背弃誓言 will instakill you ~10s into the pull.

You can complete this with people dead. As long as everyone kneels prior to the pull, the achievement will complete.

Not sure if it is intended or not, but my guild did the /kneel and we died to him on normal came back and one shot him and it gave us the achivement without the extra mechanic.

Before starting the fight, all players need to target the boss and /kneel. This will give players a debuff: 忠诚誓言. The fight will now have an extra mechanic to watch out for: An image will spawn during the fight. You will see a void image with a void laser shooting upwards, face this image or else you will get one-shot. This image will spawn randomly throughout the fight, and may also spawn during the intermission phase. If players die during the fight, the achievement will still count. Do the fight as usual, watch out for the image, and you’ll get the achievement once the boss is defeated.

Seems like if you get rezzed during this after having the debuff, you won't have the debuff when you come back to life, so you don't have to deal with any more copies at that point. Achievement will still happen though, which is great.

The title and description is a reference to Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. In the movie Chancellor Palpatine (Darth Sidious) says "it's treason then" when Mace Windu and other Jedi Masters attempts to arrest him. The description is a reference to Sith in the Star Wars universe who often kneel to their master, which in this case also is connected to Chancellor Palpatine.

The bug which kept /kneel credit after a full wipe on this boss was fixed, presumably in 12.0.7?, so your raid has to do the mechanic correctly now (unless you die and are rezzed).

Note that the achievement does stay lit white as requirements met on the tracker right after the wipe, but it flips back to red once Salhadaar actually respawns.
