lol that is impossible if you are an ally unless you can get 300+ ally characters to do it...
This will encourage more city-raiding which is always good fun.
However, there will be more of the opposite faction participating due to the City Defender achievement - so it'll be more difficult than ever.
If they are making this achievement they should really turn down the guard spawn rate.
All I can say is that it's about time that they start giving some kind of reward for this kind of stuff. I've been defender on many a raid, and it just didn't seem worth it as there was no real reward outside of a bit of honor, for either side, really.
It's currently stated by Blizzard that this achievement will reward a Black War Bear: 'Actually, we moved the "of the Horde" and "of the Alliance" titles to 100K HK's.'
The new reward for "For the Horde" and "For the Alliance" is a Black War Bear.
Should be extra motivation to complete this achievement.
Apparently, this achievement will reward players with a Black War Bear, as Tigole said in
I hope they do something to prevent the inevitable server crashes that will occur from this...
Ok before i start putting massive raid groups together to kill these guyz i need to be sure of a couple of things. If we down down them b4 WotLK is released will we still get credit? If we have multiple raid groups, will both groups get the credit for killing them?
They are buffing the guards to 75, as well as the ? bosses. This achievement is going to be near impossible for most people till level 80. I'd be interesting to see a full T6 guild attempt at level 70.
What about Jaina in Theramore, shouldnt they include her in the criteria?
On the topic of level 80 elite mobs in Under City I managed to solo 1 of them as a feral druid, even though being a tank does help along with gear* it didn't seem to bad, but as for 40 or so level 70's go in should be very easy (not including opposite faction). I'll post back on Wednesday after I attempt a 40man raid on him though.
I actually tried this twice already. There are several things worth noting.
First, the guards are all level 75 and they have a good amount of HP. They're barely more than a speed bump if you have a good group and you pull them intelligently. On my first try we were in TB and people were just aggro'ing anything they saw...didn't do so hot. Second try I took our crew into Silvermoon. The idea was that Silvermoon is less populated, easy to enter together, the guards are more spread apart, and we could arrive in the city relatively unnoticed.
The elite guards in front of the boss were 80, but shockingly easy to handle. Right as we were about to hit the boss, though, word had spread and the Horde were showing up. The smarter ones pulled a few of our...less bright...players into a group of guards. Those guards each spawned two more when aggro'd and - with 15 guards hitting us from behind - we wiped and couldn't recover.
I can't say one way or the other if a group of well geared 70s can take a Horde boss. I do think, though, that getting to them should be a walk in the park as long as you're organizaed and intelligent.
This is going to spur a lot of world pvp, which is always awesome...and its going to be fun to watch too.
I had the pleasure of observing a group of Horde rush into Stormwind Keep last night only to run headon into the buzzsaw known as Varian Wrynn. It was all over except the crying in less than 30 seconds.
This is gonna be great!
horde version completed 16-10
40 man raid.
Done on Blackmoore-EU Alliance by a 40-man Gaia Raid on 18-10-2008. (
Cairne is very hard to do at Level 70 as he often resets the MT's threat and you can't reliably taunt him due to his level, the other three are simple tank n' spank with many adds.
Done on Alleria-US Alliance by 120-man on 18-10-2008 4 AM EST
Was a bunch of ppl from the high end raiding guilds in the raid.
The toughest boss for us was probably Thrall, although we did have a drunk raid leader so you have to give some props for that.
We could have gotten it done the 17th but we had a hard time finding a vent that would hold 120 ppl, so the drunk raid leader payed for a vent for us to join and all have a blast on. :)
And if im reading this right:
World - 2nd
Alliance - 1st
US - 1st
Server - 1st
just from most of the research i have done.
I have to ask: If you have 2 or more full raid groups, like the previous poster, does only the first group to hit the boss - get the "tag" - get the achievement? And if so... what is the boss respawn time?
A little tip if you want to do them at 70:
Hunters are much better against the level 83 bosses than other classes as their shots can't get resisted, parried or dodged - our Hunters easily did ~5 times the damage of the other classes against the leaders. Other classes may be better off just healing/tanking or killing horde.
I'm from Emerald Dream EU and my guild Nervous Energy have killed Thrall and Lor'themar Theron with a 40 man raid. We attemped Sylvanas tonight and we got wiped by one priest. Yes one priest. We took her down to 1% and then a horde priest cast Guardian Spirit on her. She died and then instantly got back up to 50%. That's 3 million hp healed in one second. We took her back to 20% but sadly wiped due to being swamped by horde.
So moral of the story: Guardian Spirit is OP right now. If people are trying to kill your world boss, get a priest to cast guardian spirit on them and they won't die and raid will probably be wiped because 50% is a loooooong way. Hopefully blizzard intends to change the way guardian spirit works because it really is stupid that it can be used on a world boss in that way xD. I actually thought it only could be used on party/raid members like shield. Being able to cast it on NPCs is stupid. Please take note of this...I'm sure Blizzard doesn't intend this.
Thread on this if you'd like to spread the word and possibly get a hotfix for this.
We managed to kill all 4 of them on Trollbane EU-PVP with a raid of 40 people.
Following link is to realm forum page
Killed Theron monday 20th of october
Killed had some fail tries on caine and thrall the 21th of october
Killed Caine bloodhoof the 22nd of october
Killed Thall 22nd of october
Killed Sylvanas the 23th of october
Caine and sylvanas was clearly the hardest ones
Caine was really hard due to the fact that he dumps the aggro all the time, and he hits like a train.
Sylvanas was just annoying, because of the vanish thingy she does, its like every 5-10secs then she disappeers and comes forth again a few secs after, its like rense and repeat for like an hour or something lol..
Thrall isnt really that hard him self, atleast thats my view, its just it can very easy be VERY crowded with hordes that needs to be taken care of asap, if you can control the hordes its really easy..
Theron is just a joke if you ask me, we killed him twice without any major nor minor problems, and well silvermoon is a dead city we diden encounter that many hordes there, and well the boss is nothing special it self.
But the one thing that is REALLY annnoying is that you cant or well you dont wanna have any magic debuffs up on the buff, since as of right now the priest glyph for dispell magic is kinda insane, or well not just kinda its really overpowered for this matter, since it heals the target for 6% of its maximum HP when dispelling.
But all in all this is really nice, since the nerf patch came there is no challenge left in this game before wotlk gets here, and well lets just say that killing the faction leaders isnt just a walk in the park.
Pixels guild + Sinister guild raid.
Alliance players completed this achievement on the US Stormreaver realm on 10/30/08. We used two raid groups. One had a full 40 players and the other had approx 25. The raids were comprised primarily of the guilds <Out of Line> and <Insomnia>. Most if not all players were in tier 6 and sunwell gear.
We waited until approx 1am server and took out all four horde leaders one by one. Cairne Bloodhoof, which we killed last, was by far the most difficult, however out-of-combat res-ing and sheer numbers were the key to winning.
It is important to note that if multiple raid groups are used, only players in the raid group who tag the boss will get the achievement. However, we circumvented this requirement by cycling players in and out of the raid group which had tagged the boss during the encounters.
I have done this with a group of 40 sunwell geared players on EU Stormreaver.
A few strat notes that will make it easier for others.
Tank her downstairs by a hunter, try to keep 2 hunters on top of the aggro meter standing next to each other.
Bring a Moonkin druid with a lot of hit rating and make him/her hold FF up at all times. This will make it impossible for her to vanish and she won’t bugg.
Keep killing hordes as they enter the room.
Bring a lot of prot warriors or prot palas to tank him. Try to have 4 tanks on top of aggro meter at all times.
Tank him in his room. Healers stand so that they can’t be targeted from hordes not in the room.
The other fights are rather easy, what makes them tricky is the entire horde coming, especially Thrall were you are close to AH.
All bosses are doable with 40 lvl 70 players.
It's true Cairne is bitch and if You get him to 1% and then kill him he will ressurrect to 100% HP due to his ability which has 30 mins CD
And also a key thing is to have multiple Tanks on him taunting continuosly so after he runs out he will get back on the tanks, and off combat ressers are a must have
And for Sylvanas keep up Faerie Fire on her ---> no Vanish then its much much easier
The other Bosses are pussies so basically just tank and spank
I did this Achievement with my Guild (Arathor - EU ) in the early morning today along with the other Bosses so I'm enjoying my Black War Bear :P
this video are about faction leader raid,Achievement unlock by Infamous guild of EU.
Ok this achivment is kinda ezmode if you can get a decent setup. Did this on one day sarted around 02:00 am and they was all dead at 06:00. Did it with a pug grp no vent used. ONLY ONE RAID USED (40MAN)
Setup 10 tanks 15 healers 4 of em resto druids (kinda need Cr and sm ress) rest dps
We just ran in aoe all the adds down, tanked her in the middle off the room healers to the right and dps to the left. All dpsers just did white damage so it took like 1h to down her.
Same setup but now we only use one prot pally and a swp geard tank in tank gear rest go dps.
took the backdoor in aoed all the adds in the room before him. After that it's just a tank and spank fight, took about 20 min.
Same setup but 4 tanks in tank gear rest in dps. Took backdoor in just ran down to the "room "before her aoed all the adds. The problem with this fight is that you'll get the BG master in the pull and the fear like hell. And if you get feard you can easily reset the boss (happend to us about 4 times) We had a hunter tanking Sylvanas and all the druids in the raid just spammed FF. All the Bg dudes was off tanked in the small rooms in her room, Took about 30 min
Same setup but now 4 tanks in prot gear and rest in dps
Took frontdoor in run to the "bridge" infront off him killed the adds. MT picks up
Lor'themar 2 other tanks offtanks the other dudes in that room, just tank and spank. The fight tok about 30 min.
Its kinda good to have REpiar bots with you, cuz on carine our tanks died like 30 times..
And caster is not that usefull so put om PVP duty and on the aoe.
A prot pally is rly usefull on all the bosses cuz off all the adds.
Use at least 5 hunters so your tanks can get max threat kinda needed.
Hope this helps and GL getting bears
Server First Earthen Ring. Mixed guild KM/TH & Others, Led by TH. All four kills done with Only the 40 man raid. Raid comp varied with the boss, but never more than 5-6 hunters. Cairne was downed using 7 tanks taunt spamming.
Ravenous Guild of Dunemaul EU -horde- got that mount on 10/26/2008 5 AM.
was a lot of fun.
Server first and only.
You receive the following letter form Varian Wrynn upon completion of this achievement:

The blows you have delivered to the leadership of the Horde will open the door for our final assault. The Horde will bow down to the might of the Alliance.
Your deeds will not go unrewarded. Ride on proudly!
(Included with the mail is the Black War Bear)
Did this last night at about 2 am with a raid of 39 people. About 95% of them in Sunwell gear. It's very important to bring about 3 or 4 Sunwell geared tanks because any tanks undergeared run the risk of being 1 shot. Had about 7 caster DPS, 9 healers, some ret paladins, rogues and a couple hunters.
In order of what we killed-
Cairne- Most annoying and fun :P It's important for your DPS to stay below the tanks. We had 2 druids doing OOC ressing. Wiped twice, then killed him the 3rd attempt. Very minimal horde resistance, but enough to kill 5 for the achievement. Took 33 minutes to down him.
Thrall- Took back entrence and killed gaurds along the way. AoE'd down the first room then went in and picked up Thrall. Had a Druid off tank the extra adds and other tanks picked up Thrall. DPS'd him down, not sure how long it took, about 20 minutes or so. This is where we had the most horde resistance, but we kicked their ass.
Sylvanaas- It's important to note that she will evade and reset sometimes so we tanked her at the bottom of her platform and did not go on the stairs at all. We killed Sarah first, and then switched to kill her when she spawned again. We were having an issue with faerie fire- it kept saying "A more power spell is active" and we couldn't figure out what it was :P So we just DPS'd and killed her about 20 mins or so.
Lor'themar- Went in the front and killed gaurds as we ran to his room. AoE'd down all the gaurds in front of his room. Tanked picked up Lor and off tanks picked up the other adds. It was very laggy here. He did reset to full when he was at about 50% which sucked but we just kept going. Some horde resistance but not much.
Hope this helps! It's important to mention that we had a mage ready to invis and put up a portal before each boss died so that we could exit quickly. Avoid any horde cities or places where horde would see you gathering/buffing up. We started the raid around 2 am and finished at about 6 am so be prepared to stay awake for awhile!
Server second group :P
Alliance players on Eitrigg US Completed this achivement on 11/9. Had one full raid, and another of about 30. Easily downed all 4 bosses, and both raids did get credit for Kills. First Time on the server, horde have tried a few times, but Fail every time.
Took a 40 man raid of mostly 80s (with the odd 71-79 thrown in. I was 77) and did all four in one evening.
Lor'themar was first, and was pitifully easy, mostly because there's no such thing as horde in Silvermoon.
Sylvanas was next, and she was painful. Didn't wipe on her, but lost a few people. Still didn't get many horde coming in to help which was nice, but she's irritating as hell dude to her ability to disappear every few seconds.
Cairne came next and was likely the easiest of the 4. He went down in something like 3 minutes. The only tricky part was finding him under the masses and masses of TB guards. Many more than in any of the other cities oddly enough.
Thrall was last, and was the only one we wiped on. The team was well disciplined enough, and ran in through the back door after coming through from Ashenvale. Got to Thrall's room quickly, and the fight was going well enough until the horde realised we were there. I don't think there was even that many that came, but they stuffed everything up for us (though I'd almost recommend Vol'jin be targeted first for any others as being turned into a frog every 20 seconds or so got bloody annoying after a while) But yeah, we wiped, and came back an hour later and killed him fairly easily. He doesn't do anything special aside from chain lightning.
Server was Kil'jaeden, and guilds were mixed (any idiot can do the achievement honestly, as long as raid leader is followed and isn't an imbecile himself) though my guild was Concordis, so rar go Concordis hoorai etc.
WE did it yesterday with a 40 man raid with random people.
80% was level 80.
We did it in around 2 hours (all 4).
Hardly anyone died....
So at 80 it is easy :)
Alliance on Anvilmar did it on 11/30/08...server second. 40 man 75-80 PuG.
This is the mail accompanying the reward (sent the same time you get the achievement):

Reins of the Black War Bear
Done on Steamwheedle Cartel EU.
Proof in armory:
As a fellow warlock I can share few tips on these mobs in Horde capitals:
1st mob Windrunner:
best way to enter the hive is through the Serwer just like in the death gate quest chain. passing few guards with is rather easy considering overwhelming advantage of swords and spells from Alliance side. The mob itself wasnt hard from my side, simply recasting curses as a Affi lock. There was none PvP Defense whats so ever.
2nd mob Theron:
Pretty much the same, fly to ZA and attack from front, not much PvP defense either. The advisors were off tanked. But all DPS was focused on the boss mob anyway.
3rd mob Bloodhoof
After the QT mob it is highly recomended to use Theramore portal from mages. it dosent matter with entrence you will use since PvP Defense is non existant here anyway. It is important though to tank him inside the tent or else his AoE KnockBack might throw off some people from the hills.
4rd mob Thrall
Most likely the hardest orc for us Allies to deal with. I heard somewhere here to use the trick of warlock and 2 stealthers and summ up all the people to the east from the cave where the mob is. PvP Defense is really hard here. Offtank the Troll since there is no much use of hi mfor us Allies anyway. It is highly advised to split up the raid for 30 fighting and 10 at the entrence to prevent any incoming mobs.
This is BUGGED, probably because someone in the party still has that quest to take the portal to Orgrimmar from Stormwind.
Tactics for the 4 city bosses.
Easily done with a good group of well geared and skilled 40 people.
Roughly 4 healers to the MT, the rest on raid healing.
All bosses are tauntable but usually only one MT (well geared, T7ish) is needed for each boss.
-Healers main priority is their assigned tank, as in any other raid a loose boss level mob is pretty much an insta-wipe.
-Tanks, know your targets abilities and plan ahead. Keep up your damage debuffs at all times. All the bosses are undisarmable.
-DPS, your priority is as follows: Horde players > Horde guards > Horde elites > Boss. A good tactic is to AoE the area around the raid group to nuke down as many players and Npc's as possible (plus revealing any rogues), then focus fire on elites and finally the bosses
-Periodically vanishes and reappears somewhere else in the room, wiping aggro.
prevents this ability and mainly makes her tank and spank.
-Comes with two other boss level adds: Just have some off-tanks take them and take these down first.
-Cleaves: just don't let anyone in front apart from the tank.
-Drops aggro from time to time: Usually no problem for tanks: just taunt back. However can cause some touble if he also...
-Stun: Stuns all those in melee range for 6 seconds. Can cause problems if he drops aggro mid-stun.
-Cleave: as always melee stay behind.
-Random charges: Normal procedure applies here: taunt him back and continue.
-The most difficult of the hrode leaders for several reasons: First he is in Ogrimmar the most heavily populated Horde city, Second he comes with a larger amount of guards than the other bosses as well as Vol'jin (the troll leader).
-Chain lightning: Similar to Shaman lightning of course: deals more damage and hits up to 10 people, and
can be spell reflected
Apart from this he himself is tank and spank. But a) the number of horde in Orgrimmar, b) Vol'jin and his hex, c) the large amount of elite guards --- make this the hardest fight.
-----I advise you deal with him first, he has a hex ability and likes to cast his own brand of Shadow Word Pain on random people. These can be disatrous for an unprepared group.
-----Have warrior tanks for this folks: spell reflect works wonders, reflecting Hex (but obviously not hexing Vol'jin). Basically spam Spell Reflect every 10 seconds.
Remember the order of killing: Horde -> Guards -> Boss(es).
Hope this helps and good luck on getting your War Bear!
It's very possible, downed all 4 in a night with a pug on Staghelm. We had 40 70-80s. Had no wipes, a few deaths. Well, until we tried to leave Orgrimmar. lolz
Hardest fight would be Sylvanas cause she kept porting around the room. Had very little horde resistance at all.
The worst part, had to wait 2 friggin hours for Thrall to respawn cause another group had downed him a lil bit before we got there. It was FUN!
This achievement is terrible as a horde on the european server Quel'Thalas. The alliance to horde ratio is around 4:1 and now these achievements have inspired alliance to camp our cities usually ganking AH NPC's so we cannot do anything in our cities, this is on a PVE server btw... And defense is just suicide since they outnumber us so much, it took the whole horde hours to mount up 1 big enough defense group for 1 city.
More People are starting to forming raids for this achievement, for me UC is the hardest of them all.
Make sure to MARK the Lady in UC before you guys start going crazy, trust me if you don't mark it will be a painful fight.
A few tips, if you intend to do all four cities in a row, begin with the one in the eastern kingdom.
That will if you are lucky draw some of the horde away from Ogrimmar, which is the hardest one simply because of the amount of horde players in that town.
A raid of 65-80 can do this if tanking and healing is done right.
Remember, just because you have a lot of people doesn't mean you can be sloppy.
Takes approximately 6 minutes per boss.
The bosses and guards are not the real problem with this achievement, it's if you encounter a lot of resistance from horde players.
Since i have only seen 1 refrence to how long respawn on the boss's are,some1 said round 15-20 mins
By Shanody on 10/21/2008 (Patch 3.0.2)
The respawn timer of these bosses (or at least of Lor'themar Theron) seems to be rather short.
Tonight my guild fought its way to him in Silvermoon City to find another guild fighting him already.
After they killed him, we stood around for about 10 to 15 mins killing incoming horde, until someone in our raid claimed his respawn timer would be around 2 hours so we decided to go to Thunder Bluff.
I got however killed before going through the portal and after I corpseran back, Lor'themar had already respawned, so my estimated guess is that he respawns within 20 to 30 mins max.
The respawn is actually between 4 and 6 hours as far as i can know.
SW king was downed 2 days ago on runetotem and 2 extremly unlucky new DKs arrived in time to see the killing blow, they went afk and stayed there for 4.5 hours when they got bak there was no sign of the king and there hadn't been another raid since
i did this today and got the achievement!
few things 2 say.
1)first city raid....tons of fun
2)took a 40 man and still had some complications
3) thunder bluff had alot of gaurds and we almost all got killed
4)the only city were we had to re-try the raid was undercity and the boss herslef is much tougher than other horde bosses =/
5) worth all 4 hrs it took (cause we did all bosses at once) and had a blast and love my mount
6)thrall was easy, him being the best was deff an overstatement
My guild did this tonight on Proudmoore (US). It wasn't that hard for us- we did it at 6PM server time. Our order was Thrall, Cairn, Sylvanas, and then Theron.
We one shotted each one, but hit 2 major snags.
1) If you are currently doing the Wrathgate questline- you cannot do this achievement. We had a few members who had to drop because of this.
2) Watch out for Horde DK's in UC. We had one pull our tank out of the room 2 times before we figured out what was going on and reset Sylvanas.
Took us less than 3 hours to complete and it was enjoyable.
Tanglebriar led a 40-man raid last night on the Feathermoon server that successfully wiped out all the leaders. We had to hold the Orgrimmar Throne Room for about 2 hours, waiting for a respawn, though. Had to kill Vol'jin at least 5 times while we waited. We were there so long that, even though I hardly ever PVP, I walked out with over 600 HKs.
Edit: Huge kudos to Tanglebriar for putting together and leading that raid. She did an awesome job!
"For the Alliance". Have tried it twice (asked to join raid grp) and both times the raid group has disappeared upon entering the zone.
Why? (This defeats the purpose of joining a raid group, doesn't it?)
Read above comments and they did not solve my problem.
copy this to WoW chat(funny), it shows completed archievement (with your name and FAKE date)
Man i love doing this achievement it was fun raiding the horde citys. But Org was hard cuz it is the main capital of course for horde to hang out at. :-) . well i also did this achievement at a low lvl "73" lol but we won and i got my mount. i encourage u all to get a raid going and try this awesome achievement out. :-)
Did Silvermoon at 70 with a 40 man raid. Have tried 2-3 times with 40 man raid of 80(most in blue and naxx epics) and we dont have a problem getting boss down until horde come and wipe us out. Have only tried Org cause ppl give up after it fails. It is also worth noteing that we attempted UC on one of my guilds at 60 in classic WoW and pulled valmathis and got him and was about the start on slyvannis when an AV let out...before cross server battlegrps...so not cool seeing 40 horde drop in the room.
Just did this today with 27 80's and a 74, 71, 77. It was a guild event celebrating out anniversary. Hardest part was definitely Thrall's joint, but we did well. :D
On my realm (Burning Steppes - EU) the problem we have Is the realm is made up of around 70% Horde. To get down Thrall, we had to make a
raid so we wern't mauled by horde. I made a 40-man raid a day later, took down the other 3 leaders and as we went back to OG...... well you know the rest.
A message for those somewhere on this chain: (or any other part of the chain)
You can obtain the achievement even if you are somewhere on the chain related to getting assistance from Thrall or the battle of Undercity. Even if you abandon the quest you will still see the "invisible" version of both Orgrimmar and Undercity so the only way to do the achievement is to be in the raid that will kill the bosses and simply be in the boss room! Your presence is enough for you to get the achievement criteria complete! :)
Here are two screenshots to prove this works for both Thrall and Sylvanas.
I happen to be one of the unlucky people to find this out the hard way last night when I joined a raid for For The Alliance. For thrall I ran into the room he was in, and eventually everyone else killed him and I still got the acheviement. But for the UC I was on my way running there and I wasn't even near the UC when they killed the main guy and I still got the acheivement. I don't know if you get it for simply being in the raid or not, but I did on Sylvanas and I thought that I would share that with everyone :D
I think shes bugged. My guild tried her and if you get more then 10 feet away from her spawning place, her health goes back up. Really dumb and her vanish thing made her HP go back up too. Epic fail.
I can't do it yet since i am a low level but when i do (soon) it will be fun...killing horde...ahhhh...what a nice thing lol...check out my website then you could be in the HALL OF FAME tell me if you did do the for the alliance quest then you could be in the HALL OF FAME check in to
hope to see you comment
I did this with 35 more people exactly when "Earth Hour" was.
So we did'nt have problems with Horde players. We met around 10 hordes when we downed Thrall :D
The main problem with this achievement is that it takes a couple days to do usually. On my server (Shadow Council), it's pretty hard to raid more than 2 horde cities in one day. The plan i recommend is to attack Silvermoon first. Silvermoon is usually empty, like a horde equivelant of Darnassus. Once you kill the Blood Elf leader, I recommend attacking Ogrimmar next. The idea of this strategy is to pull all horde 70-80 to Undercity, for it's usually the city expected to be hit next. Teleport from Silvermoon to Darnassus via mage portal and fly to the closest point to Ashazara you have. Go down the river (A DK's path of frost or a Shaman's water walking make it much faster) and come to the back door of Ogrimmar. Rush quickly to Thrall and unleash an all out attack on the throne room. You have to fight hard, due to the large number of gaurds and other elites in the room, not to mention Vol'jin. If you're lucky, many high level horde are camping Undercity or, if you time it right, fighting in Wintergrasp. Once Ogrimmar is finished, Theres to paths to take. You can either 1. move on to attack Undercity, then Thunder Bluff or probably more likely 2. wait until the next day. Attacking a third and fourth city is harder to pull off if you dont have a full 40 man raid still with you. It's also a bad idea to try to attack Thunder Bluff
after Ogrimmar. It could only work if its not prime time, when horde may be in disarray enough that they wont be able to group and get to TB fast enough. Undercity is also a good choice for a first attack. Undercity, though not as often populated as Ogrimmar, has its own difficulties. The main concern is getting through the bottleneck path to Lady Sylvannas. If you follow a likewise pathway, you should be able to do this in 1-3 days. =D Black War Bear ftw!
Spartigus, (level 80 warrior, Shadow Council)
There are nasty rumors going around, that with 3.1 the Mount will be gone form the archivement. As I was not able to check it for myself, can anyone verify or falsify this?
Once again, the only hard one to do is Thrall, due to the fact that there's actually 2 city bosses there, and Vol'jin's AoE Hex is very annoying, especially when he hexes Thrall's Tank. As a protection paladin, I went out of my way to cleanse the hex in between my tanking cycle. The biggest challenge of Thrall is the proximity to the Auction House. Fortunately, my raid last night was done 2 hours prior to server service shutdown and during Wintergrasp battle.
As always, if you're doing all 4 bosses on a raid, start with Thrall, because your raid will start to fall apart after the first 2 boss. Might as well start with the hardest one, and move down the scale of difficulty. You can definately 25 man either Sylvana or Lor'themar Theron.
For The Alliance, in terms of difficulty varies from server to server. On my Server, all someone has to do go "LFG-For The Alliance" and BAM!, you get a fully organized group in minutes XD
On Uther (67% Alliance, I think) we've had a 100% success rate since the Achievement System was introduced and no, I am NOT exaggerating. The order is Thrall, Carne, Sylvanas and then Lor'themar, all in one go. Once Thrall is downed we get almost no resistance from Horde Players. Now to preparations if you're gonna do this.
Group Makeup (40-Man for Thrall and Sylvanas, Cairne and Lor'themar can be 25-manned)
1 MT Preferably T7 Geared or Better
1 or more OT, same as above (OT should aggro Vol'Jin in Org or Adds in UC)
4 or more Healers (Priest preferred, Resto Druid/Shaman otherwise)
20 or so
At least 2 Mages (For Porting Purposes)
At Least 1 Warlock (For Summoning Purposes)
MUST BE LEVEL 75+
For overkill, 100% 80s. My first run I was level 79 but anyone below 75 has a good chance of being 1-shotted by 80 Horde Players or the Horde Leader. The rallying points we used for each city were Rachet (Org and TB--we ported to Theramore after Org and flew to Rachet), WPL (UC and SMC for those who didn't have Z'A FP) and Zul'Aman (SMC) before moving out.
As the group's only Warlock in 3 runs I'd run into SMC with a Mage and Pally and summon the whole raid group just to save travel time (Just outside the Boss's Room before the stairs--Horde's almost never there my server). Be sure to make sure everyone's been buffed up and the Tank's Healer has been Soul Stoned in case there's a wipe (which never happens with my server but...yeah).
Ok, this is it Boys and Girls! In the Interests of Fairness, I'll do a counterattack stradegy too.
Enter through The Barrens Gate. If this is your first time in Org,
follow the raid leader or main tank
(hopefully they marked themselves) so you don't get lost and/or picked off by Horde Players. If you get dismounted, KEEP MOVING to Thrall's Room. If you have a pet, Keep pressing CTRL+2 as you go or set it to Passive. Once you get to Thrall's Room, the group will split 30-10. The Main Tank and most of the DPS will tank and spank Thrall while 10 keeps Vol'Jin, the Adds and any Horde Players who show up busy.
As a Dual Spec Demonology/Affliction Warlock, I used my Demonology Tree for Org and DPS'd Thrall while my Fel Guard DPS'd Adds/Horde Players. The fight itself shouldn't last more than 5 minutes. Any more than that means you have ALOT of bad DPSers. If you're part of the Vol'Jin group be warned he DOES respawn pretty quickly so...yeah. Once Thrall has been downed, the adds will stop coming. At this point, Mages should be opening ports to Theramore and anyone who gets left behind should be summoned by a Warlock.
take out the MT and all Warlocks and Mages first
. Once you do that, the raid group will collapse pretty quickly. Wait to see if anyone self-rezzes before giving the all clear.
Sidenote: If you need to get Org's Flame (for Midsummer), it's right across from Thrall's room. A perfect time to grab it during the Melee!
Mount up before getting on the elevator. Again, if you don't know where to go, follow the Raid Leader or MT. You'll be forced to dismount going up the large totem but keep your pet restrained (if this applies to you) until you get to Cairne. He's mostly tank and spank like Thrall but there's ALOT of adds. Can be 25-manned as long as everyone is well-geared and/or knows how to DPS/HPS. Once Carine is downed, adds will stop coming and Mages should open ports to IF to regroup, etc. before going to WPL.
Horde side, just AOE the crap out of the Raid Group. If the group just killed Thrall, you should be able to head them off before they can even reach Cairne.
Sidenote: TB's Flame is on Spirit Rise northwest of Cairne. Wait until after Cairne has been downed before going for it. I would also reccommend letting the group know of your plans before you enter TB as well.
Ah, the Ruins of Lordaeron. Birthplace of Arthas Menethil. Where was I? Oh, yes! Going in the Front Door is suicide, you're going in via the Sewers (if you're 80 you went this way during The Battle for The Undercity Quest). Sylvanas is a bit different from Thrall and Cairne--periodically she teleports around the room, meaning Ranged DPS will be really important here. A group should be near the door to repell the Horde Players who will come rushing in. Once Sylvanas has been downed, the Adds will stop coming and Mages should open Ports to IF to regroup, etc. before going to Ghostlands.
Horde side, Warlocks should fear the crap out of everyone. Humans have Every Man For Himself with which to break Fear/Trap Effects so watch for that. Take out the Healers and Warlocks and the raid group will collapse. Wait to see if anyone self-rezzes before giving the all-clear.
Sidenote: UC's Flame is just inside the main entrance above ground. Aside from a few Horde who may be there it's a pretty easy grab!
Anyone who doesn't have the FP to Zul'Aman should be summoned before mounting up. Like TB there's only one way in so...yeah. Watch for the Arcane Guardian by the main gates--it can net you. The Path to Lor'themar is pretty straightforward. Upon arrival, Tank and spank Lor'themar while the OT focuses on the other two Elites. Be warned--Horde can port between UC and SMC in the room behind the Boss room. If you just came from UC, there's a good chance they'll be here waiting for you!
If there's Horde waiting for you, you'll have to punch through. If Lor'themar is aggroed doing this, MT should focus on him, etc. Otherwise take out the Horde group, heal the MT and then aggro. Lor'themar can be 25-manned but hope Horde isn't there waiting for you! Once Lor'themar is downed, congratz on Completing For The Alliance! King Wrynn will have sent your shiny new Black War Bear Mount via Mail =D
Horde side, AOE the melee DPSers and Fear the Healers. You should have plenty of time to head off the Alliance if they came from UC. DoT the MT and AOE everyone. Rogues should Sap Mages and Warlocks if possible.
Sidenote: SMC's Flame is just before the large fountain on the RIGHT. You can grab it, mount up and then keep going =D
The horde leaders don't hit hard got a bit tired and gonna say how easy they're by first writting their damage.
Horde leaders can hit tanks up to 6k thrall voljin cairine hits 7k if any higher your tanks are getting the wrong stats if you can block you should have them hitting for 2.5k thrall can be maged tank if a frost mage has all shields on and healer heavy.
I would take out uc or org first because if you don't take them first and get them last horde will get time to prepare like as if they did sw and IF last,
Thrall's chain lightning hits for 6k and his shock it's a 3 sec cast he hits 10k on mail 14k on unshielded clothies his attack speed is about 3 seconds, voljin shoots for atleast 5-7k on leather his hex is magic IT CAN BE MASS DISPELLED he has veil shadow if you know what that is it's a *curse*, he should never killed first the simple way to kill them is to tank vol'jin to the right of the room where he is thrall to the left a priest or paladin healer and one tank should focus on him horde patrol stay near the door make sure no horde especially rogues get through have one dps stay on guard leaders hit 6k on tanks, the reason for those healers is to dispel hex because if you don't he will shoot random players it also seems the more people near him the higher frequency he cast hex so if all 40 members are near him he will cast it every 10 seconds after it wears off, the reason to tank them to the side is so aoe horde won't mess up anyone.
Sylvanas: she isn't as precious as thrall but don't waste time here's the trick.
Uc only spawns 65 guards But when going through the corridor tank goes first the royal guards melee 700 on leather like all elite guards they shoot however for 2k on cloth rarely though before engaging her and especially with the new patch theirs 3 new battlemaster's all 81e but beware on sota and ioc holiday there will be 4 81e the ones that are always there are deathstalker guy hits harder then all other battlemasters 9k ms on leather misery she has mana but less hp she still a melee all cities have a wg battlemaster they have 509k hp fireball/frostbolt for 2k FB or 4k sheep and they add amplify damage for 10 secs the target takes 100% more damage they only cast it on their current target but when the battlemaster fear they could pop it on the tank have shamans put tremor totem kill these guys first. sylvanas is easy put faerie fire and it's a tank and spank.
cairine: only hits a bit harder because he only leader that uses a 2h good tanks should never get hit above 9k regardless from ms i seen massive heals on shamans and he tanked it barely he doesn't charge anymore the guards do backhand and he uses all the other ablities if you're a human tank use the racial it works.
SMC : the boss is a joke the mage guy hits for 1k on leather gg the ranger guy is a joke once you get to him you already won.
side note: just made my acc on wowhead after getting tired seeing people think these guys are hard and my typing is horrible sorry
OK serious question here please don't down rate me, if i kill the thrall that is in nagrand will it count for this achievement?
Did this yesterday, easy piecy, mon.
We (40 man raid, 75-80 levels, 4 druids and 1 shaman healing) started from theramore, ride to TB, totally owned Cairne.
Then we decided to go UC because "Org is so hard", but then we decided to throw a try at it. Thrall got owned, along with ~20 horde players. Then we left for the UC where we were supposed to go. Another win. After that, everyone feeling great and confident, we went to kill quel'thalas. End of Story.
Lesson of story? Don't fight guards, just ride to the faction leader, and let everyone pop AoE attack. ALL the guards following you will be dead in few seconds.
It is pretty easy to do if timed right and started at Ogrimmar
why ogrimmar? because otherwise every hordeplayer will pile up in front of Thrall to protect their leader.
We started at the back entrance of Ogrimmar and walked too without any trouble, a few horde players, but nothing we couldn't handle and we obliterated him with ease. (have a good, organised raid group)
After that we run back through the back enterance and into the zeppelin tower to Thunder Bluff. 40 players piled out of the zeppelin and the horde that stood guard at the lift didn't see us until Caine was dead meat.
So we went to Silvermoon and had easy passage because nobody seems to care about their leader. the only horde there was a level 45 Belf paladin. So we just walked in and killed the leader
after that we went to undercity, this is where it was the hardest. Although we took the sewer entrance, the place was crawling with horde who were out for us. we got to Sylvanas chamber, but 3 idiots rushed to sylvanas and they weren't even tanks, so we got killed. The second time we spawned in the throne room and attacked her, but she kept healing and teleporting all over the place so again we died.
We took a 15 minute break to repair stuff and eat some food, and tried again. again we took the sewer entrance and found that the horde had mostly given up on killing us, so we formed a plan and killed everything in out way to Sylvanas, in there we pulled her off of her throne (important) and killed her by running after her with the tank every time she teleported. (bring a fw DK's with army of the dead) finally we killed her and got the achievement (I did Org and TB again because people had left after 2 defeats in UC, but in the end we were with 40 people again)
Good luck :)
what lvl d u need to be for it?
If successful, this is a very fun achievement to earn. Gathering 40 friends/allies to lay waste to an entire city by killing the leader is something every 80 toon should try. It may be tireing, exhausting, and difficlut at first, but nothing beats that 3 second lag you get after landing that killing blow while your enitre raid earns their rightful achievement ^^. Best of luck to all who attempt this!
just got this on my 71 rogue and shaman. there where like 4 raids doing this today but had not realy a prob with respawn, both raids we had around 30-40 players all where very easy every boss took about 5-10 min. on rogue we had almost no horde so everything whent verry easy. on shaman we got horde in Orgrimmar what made it abit harder but it worked out well ...but when in Thunder bluff shaman died because i got disconnected and got killed be guards i think. they where already bussy fighting him so i tought for a moment i wouldnt get the achievement because im dead but half the way i did acctualy get it when i was dead.
Well, that's how me and my raid group done yesterday, we were about 20/25 people, about 10 of 'em were 70's players.
- Some guys (4 or 5) ran down from Alterac Mountains gryphe to
, Warlock summon us near to the back entrance of Undercity (tunnels) we ran all the way down the tunnels and just ignored the npcs, we didn't found a single horde player in the way, getting there, all I've gotta do is take the
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner
aggro (and consequently all the npcs in the way) and tank her. Some hordes in the way but no big deal.
- After cleaning the boss room in Undercity a mage opened a portal to Shattrath and some of us headed to
Isle Of Quel'Danas
(in these particular cases the achievement
helps a lot) and took the gryphe to Zul'Aman in
and summoned everyone at the raid stone. Then we headed to
through the front door, even if in my server (Warsong) has tons of horde (3x1) and tons of Blood Elves we didn't find players in our way to the boss, except the low level ones. Sad because we missed
Wrath of the Alliance
achievement because of that. The fight is pretty easy I think, we had good healers and I didn't lost even half of my life tanking him.
- After killing Silvermoon boss, one of our mages opened a portal to Theramore in
, there we get the gryphe to
, summoned people and went to
from there, by the water. We entered by the back door of the city and ran non stop until we got in the boss room. Absolutely the hardest fight of the 4. After entering the boss room I pulled the aggro, but Thrall became imune to my Taunt abilities soon after that, so, watch out tanks! Another thing to take care, one of the mages in their group of bosses morphed me into frog A LOT of times, keep it in mind when you're doing this boss. This was the only city where we really found horde 80 lvl players, we killed many of them after killing Thrall, so they united in a big group, and killed all of us, the only one who left behind was me, and they need 7 or 8 to get me :P
- The ones who died ressed at the angel and used our stones (like me) or ran, all the way to Thunder Bluff. We got together again near the entrance of the zone, summoned the rest and made our way to
. Most of us didn't know the way, so we almost destroyed the entire city searching for him.
When we found him, some Horde low levels stayed in the area watching everything, out of curiosity, I guess.
The fight was pretty easy. After the kill some of us used our stones or portals and got togeher in
to receive our
Black War Bear
and ran around yelling FOR THE ALLIANCE! and continued our lives in WOW happily.
4 bosses, less than 1 and a half hour, pretty quick and also
with repairs, for tanking the 4 bosses I just payed 150g for the repair...
I found this achiev. was the most fun out of all the ones i did. And getting a Black war bear from it encouraged me even more to participate in this fun. But they always make um at 12:00 at night...Well on my server. Gratz to the ppl who have this achievement.
I made multiple attempts at this when i was lvl 70 and out of like 2-3 groups i put together we were only able to kill the blood elf leader. When we tried to kill sylvanas we got destroyed by lots of horde and when we tried tried cairne we were overrun by at least 50 guards who spawned right outside of his tent and lastly we got to thrall where the horde caught up with us and killed us before we were even near thrall. pugging this is not a good idea you'll probly have a better chance of survival with a guild or some friends.
i did this achivement today with my guild and we were lucky to see not a single enemy player in all 4 horde capitals cities....YEAH BABYGOT MY WAR BEAR!
I would like to state that also while a raid is going on YOU DO get credit for a kill if you are in the area even if you are not in the raid group, people have been experimenting with multiplue raid groups full of players and they have also gotten the achiev, not to mention it was pointed out by my cousin AND Adamsm on the forums My cousin was trying to get in to Org for flame during the fire festival, and Adamsm said he was running to RFC on a lowbie and he too got credit for the kill.
Now even though on a lowbie the mount isnt usable if by chance your there to sneak in each kill, its nice to have in your bags until you CAN use it :)
am i the only one who thinks that a bear in the mail is considered a
I seriously looked through ALL these comments and not one says how or where to get this quest!
Not everyone has done the quest before!
I see it all the time in trade chat. Now that I'm 80 I wanted to see what it was and how to get it, but no luck on here or wiki on how to get it - Where, who, requirements?
If someone could post it that would great!
My group on US- Earthen Ring found that alternating continents worked extremely well. We started with Silvermoon, then Thunder Bluff, then Undercity, and last but not least Orgrimmar.
. make sure you have at least 1 warlock incase some one doesn't have the Flight point. make sure every gets there, then charge through

EDIT 1:edited grammer EDIT 2:edited for Cataclysm
As of patch 3.3.3 a properly geared group of lvl 80's can now sail through these kills without much difficulty. We accomplished this on Hydraxis today (Saturday afternoon) in under two hours with a single 40-man pick-up group. All faction leaders died on the first attempt. I don't recall anyone in our raid dying. Enemy resistance was light; we got less than 5 PVP kills in Thunder Bluff and Silvermoon City.
One of the keys was having a good raid leader who kept the group on a tight leash. Vent wasn't needed.
1. Raid assembles in Dalaran, limited to level 80 only, summoned to Ratchet when raid is ready.
2. Take side entrance to Ogrimmar, kill Thrall, mage port to Theramore.
3. Ride to Thunder Bluff, kill Bloodhoof, mage port to Ironforge.
4. Fly to South Shore, enter Undercity via sewer entrance (heal up after exiting sewer), kill Sylvanas, mage port to Shattrath.
5. Take portal to Isle of Quel'Danas, flight path to Zul'Aman, ride to Silvermoon City, kill Lor'themar, mage port to Dalaran.
6. Black War Bear party in Dalaran.
Fastest way to do this is first go to TB, then kill Cairne, then take the Zepp to Org, then kill Thrall, then take the Zepp to UC, kill Sylvanas, you can't use the Orb if you're ally, so you can fly to Zul'Aman and run to SMC,
But be warned, when Cairne dies, odds are, the Horde probably (depends on server) make a D-Raid to stop you, this will make it very hard to get the achievement,
my favorite way to do this is kill a leader in day one, then stop, the next day, do another leader, then stop for the day, then continue the pattern, if you do them all in a row, the Horde will expect you to come back.
lol it disconnects me when i put it up on horde. no traitors for u!
The key is to have a bunch of great
with you :)
can you get dishonor by killing the leaders since some are quest givers?
the king hellsceam is right in front of the door so it will be so easy for the alliane to do for the alliane
They should add Vol'jin or that that goblin guy to list :-) They deserve it :-D
They need to rename this achieavement "We'll Keep Trying!"
Now that all the leaders are in the same room, is this still possible (I realize it's possible to kill them all, but read about only getting credit for one leader atm).
RIGHT NOW (
Novemver 14 ) I would assume that this
be completed due to the facet they (Blizz) haven't changed it to Garrash
So, now Alliance must kill Garrosh Hellscream instead of Thrall? (Because of Cataclysm, Thrall will no longer be the Warchief).
Well, this should now be doable, but...
Here are some figures, Garrosh has 103 million health.
If you want to do it in four minutes, you will need (approx) 36 DPS capable of outputting 12k damage per second, this is assuming three healers and 1 tank.
As you fly past main Horde Bank and Auction house, waving at the Horde, please bear in mind that I wish you good luck!
You are gonna need it, I haven't figured in any heals on Garrosh.
Why has no one said anything about the goblins? or the worgens? they need leaders to xD they need some lovez.
this is really hard to do post-cata, no one on my realm did it yet
there should be a guild achievement for this. FTA/FTH guild edition, kill the leaders of the opposing faction with atleast 30 guild members is the group
We did this at around 2am with a random raid group of 28 assembled by whispering and shouting! Took us an hour and a half to assemble and by counts we should have been anticipated and massacred. A group of 5 manned the choke point while the rest Tanked and spanked the boss. Flushed with success we went on to the other cities and at 3am we were all running around Stormwind like children on our black bears :). Realm vek'nilash EU
we run this achieve weekly on allied on skywall have downed all 4 almost every time been over 10 times now
posted screen of people on the bears
This achievement is quite hard now considering Garrosh, the leader of Orgrimmar, is right next to the main bank and auction house in orgrimmar making horde players have a very quick reaction to any raiding party that wishes to earn this achievement. Be advised that a huge group will be needed depending on your server.
This can be 2-manned by any of the following classes: (ABC order)
Why not Trool king
This is next to impossible here on Moon Guard.
Every time someone tries to get a raid together, I load up my horde toon to check trade chat for early warnings. Of course, there's anywhere from 1-3 people "FTA RAID STARTING <city>" and screwing things up for us. I really think this kind of behavior should be reportable for cheating, since it blatantly is cheating those of us who are trying to have fun out of any fair shot at doing this.
Might have to do it on a PvP server like Tichondrius or something :c
With the right tactics (yes, you you need them can't just go fly into say, the building Garrosh is in and pewpew without wiping.) this is quite easy to do. And after alot of fails, I managed to do 6 runs in a row without even so much as wiping in Org. My server Bladefist EU has more horde then alliance, so it does remain to be a challenge. I'll explain
of doing For the Alliance. (
Wall of text inc. But it will be worth it as it is, in my opinion, the way to succes.)
First of, there is forming the full 40 man group we need, more specificly to get Garrosh down, for the other city leaders, being with 40 man is just a plus. I like to make sure I have a healthy balance of PvE'ers and PvP'ers, because you will need the PvP'ers in Orgrimmar.
Now on my server, there are alot of people that wont hesitate to relog to horde and warn them that the alliance is coming as soon as you so much as say FTA in trade. So I plan it ahead of time on the calendar for my guild on the actual day itself, I whisper members from others guild and have people invite their friends.
to keep it out of trade. If you do however, get told on, then make sure you tell no one the order of the citys untill the very last moment and its always handy when you have someone with a horde char that can keep an eye on their trade so if need be, you can switch it up again. People popping on- and offline in your raid group are most likely to be the traitors.
Here are some tactics for the Undercity, Silvermoon and Thunder Bluff. As Orgrimmar has a bit more, i'll do a seperate piece on that one. Keep in mind, that the players in this raid are meant to follow the leader, wich should always have a mark on themselves. If anyone is uncertain as to where to go, you can tell them to follow the marked person.
Start by gathering everyone at the sewer entrance, this saves you an annoying trip with the elevators and you can just keep flying till you are in the room where Sylvanas is.
The main annoyance here are the adds, nuke all of them down, then focus Sylvanas.
She dissapears every now and then, but will re-appear fast enough. Handeling the fight shouldn't be hard if the tank(s) manage to keep aggro. Go out the same way you went in and you're all good.
Since you cant fly here, I gather up all my people a couple of yards away from the entrance. I'll make sure that everyone is there before we do the great walk in. I made it known in a raid warning that everyone needs to move in all at once and keep running no matter what. Some people might get knocked of their mounts and slowed, but it is not worth it to stop for them and kill the guards as more will spawn. These people will make it to the boss as well, it just takes them a bit longer. The bridge you cross to get to Lor'themar Theron you'll notice that there are alot of guards there, still, keep moving. Besides your main target, there will also be 3 other high hp adds, but they don't matter much and can easily be ignored. And even though AoE in a 40 man raid group tends to make most people go down to 1fps, its the best thing to do here to handle all the guards. Once those are down, just focus Lor'themar and you should have him down very quickly, then all you need to do is either HS or run out the same way you came in.
This is probaly the most easy one to do, or atleast in my opinion it is. Besides a stun every now and then and loss of aggro Baine Bloodhoof can be reached easily by flying directly to the hut he is in. Gather everyone on a rock near Thunder Bluff, all fly to Baine location and let a tank aggro him and pull him out of the comforts of his hut. He'll stun the raid a few times, wich causes loss of aggro for tanks, but can easily be taken back later.
is the harder place of all. Garrosh Hellscream is located in the middle of the Valley Strength in between the AH and bank, wich is one of the most crowded places in Orgimmar. Here is my version of how to kill Garrosh and handle the horde that are bound to come in and kill you, not because they like Garrosh, but because they hate alliance.
To start with, I make sure everyone gathers at a place called
Boulder Lode Mine
You can camp in a small valley where you wouldn't be spotted as easily as practically standing on Garrosh' doorstep. At this point I make sure every one in the group pays attention while I tell them the following
These, in order are:
- Make sure you all fly in together and
, even if that means slowing down a bit to ensure everyone will make it into the room in one piece.
- When you have made it into the room, the PvE'ers, including any tanks or healer will move towards the back of the room while pulling Garrosh and stay there throughout the battle.
- The PvP'ers station themselves at the entrance of the room, to make a nice distraction for the horde, while the PvE'ers work on killing Garrosh.
- When you have horde incoming, The PvP'ers are responsible for
(ring of frost, fear, slows etc.) and do anything to stop them from entering the room.
- IF a horde does manage to push through your PvP defense and enter the room, that person has a
, wich means some of your PvPers will have to peal of the main fight to get rid of the horde inside the room. If more then one get in and form a serious threat for your PvE'ers, I advice any present rogues to use
to secure the group from ranged dps or AoE.
- In case there are barely any horde, just because it silent, or because you have managed to wipe them, the PvPers can join into the fight with Garrosh and help dps him down.
The actual fight with Garrosh isn't hard, its the horde players that make it hard. Hence these tactics I invented. I found they worked perfectly and it showed as my For the Alliance runs where a great succes.
Warning, If trying for FTA Garrosh, all players need to be from the same server or phasing will happen and kill you all. Just tried a raid via OQ, and it was a disaster, everyone was ported to their own realms and got squished.
As of the launch of Warlords of Draenor, completion of this achievement seems to have been revoked from Alliance players. If you killed Garrosh before, you will now need to kill Vol'jin, as the criteria for defeating Garrosh is not in-game anymore. This also means that your Black War Bear mount has been removed and that
you will need to complete the achievement again.
However, it does not appear that Horde players need to complete their acheivement again, as it hasn't been changed.
The phasing issues in Orgrimmar appear to be fixed. We just went in with a cross realm group and everyone stayed together.
Unfortunately Vol'jin has 655 million health. You should probably wait until people are level 110 if you want a successful raid.
"Damage High Overlord Saurfang until he humors you by pretending to die"
Did this today with a group of 25 110's. finding the odd ball times when a lot of horde aren't on was the key. Lot of fun to obtain nothing like a army of Alliance warriors flying in formation to put a smile on your face!
Saurfang is being kept as a prisioner by the alliance so for now you only have to kill 3 leaders instead of the usual 4
