>>>~~~ This is from the new Darkmoon Deathmatch Event ~~~<<<
To get this achievement you must loot 12x
and complete the quest they give you. Doing so will also award
, you must be at the Darkmoon Deathmatch Arena when the special chest spawns. It spawns every three or so hours at approximately the following server times:
In addition to being at the chest, you must defend yourself if some else is seeking the treasure. Even if they are from the same faction!
Accoridng to Blizz:
Like any good carnival, the Darkmoon Faire has a shady side. You can leave the skilled labor to the suckers and go for a faster score instead. If you’ve got the minerals, the Darkmoon Deathmatch offers an experience unparalleled since the Gurubashi Arena. Pitmaster Pei has a big old treasure chest just brimming with goodies and Darkmoon Faire Prize Tickets that he’ll drag out into the Darkmoon Deathmatch Pit every three hours or so. Everybody wants it, so if you want a piece of the action you’ll just have to jump in and prove that you’re the toughest one in the Pit.
Very similar to the Stranglethorn Arena. However, since this is brand new it will be extreamly crowded and the chance of geting a chest very low unless you can get a really big group of people to help you out.
Would be interesting to see tanks (specially warriors) using 2x of these since if you get double procc you will be just get awesome due to high block raiting :)
This seems a ridiculously tall order for anyone but the most hardcore of achievement hunters. The amount of people going for this (or just the regular Rare version) combined with the time limited availability of the Isle, is going to make this genuinely frustrating. I really hope they make it a Feat of Strength! :)
Confirming that this is ingame as of today, as an achievement worthy 30 points, It shows up once you've successfully looted the
, thus getting the
Whoever pushes on and really pursues this, deserves it (I do kind of agree with Quantuvis above that this really could have been a FoS), as it will require a crazy amount of time and not to mention dealing with the unpredictability that lies in having to fight both friends and foes before every single opportunity to loot the chest.
I am guessing this might very well take months for someone to complete, unless they can get a team of dedicated helpers together that is sturdy enough to control who gets the chest on each spawn and also return to do this when the Faire is open each month, as you have no guarantee that you'll get to loot on every spawn that you are there for.
The one thing that might make it work out slightly quicker, is if the players who choose to attend the Faire repeatedly lean away from the pvpjunkies, so if they do poke their nose into the arena at the right time, the lack of resilience and pvp experience have you/your group kill them by staring at them hard. Though, you gotta be rock-hard at heart to kill those pve'ers entering the arena with zero resilience, not really knowing what they got themselves into as they clicked to "enter Deathmatch" only because the door was actually clickable.
Remember that the chest is put out once every 3 hours, so you'd have to be around for quite a while to get your shot at enough to actually be the one to loot it 12 times. You do the maths, and don't forget to calculate around the unpredictable stuff, like falling asleep while waiting for the next spawn, or some Gladiator-team deciding to kick your ass just for fun or whatever...
Silly stuff, "... jump in and prove that you’re the toughest one in the Pit."
Or most usually just the one with more fellas cowering your back while you fill the cast bar to open the box. Meh...
You don't need to have more skill, better gear, or anything like, just get more friends to CC and kill everyone else that enter arena and have an easy win.
I can confirm that the Pit Fighter trinkets do not stack.
You'll need 12 inventory slots for this.
After a seemingly random amount of time, if nobody won the contents of the chest, the chest will despawn.
I've seen it go away after 16 minutes, and today, after 37 minutes where the MVP in it never being over was no doubt, the always as impressive Magma Totem.
Completed this today and I can give a few pieces of advice to anyone pursuing it.
Remain dedicated and persistent. Don't give up easily or lose hope. It took me at least 30 matches before I got my 12, many of which I was <1 second from successfully looting the chest, yet ultimately still lost.
If at all possible, get friends/guildmates to assist you, especially those that don't mind if you loot the chest and are just there to help you by killing/CCing opponents. This is a huge plus if you can pull this off, though it's not always possible, and roughly half of the matches I won were with entirely pug groups.
With that said, when you can't get a majority group of your own friends/guildies, try to strategize in advance based on who shows up to the arena 5~ minutes before it starts. If there's at least 5 competitors (and there usually is), your solo chances are very low, especially if any number of them are together. Try to start or join a pug group using the /1 general chat, so that at the very least you increase the chances of you being alive to loot it. You may lose it to someone else in your group, but your likelihood of success by being in the biggest group is still much greater than trying solo or being vastly outnumbered in a small group.
Set reminders 15~ minutes in advance of each match for the ones that you are likely to be able to attend. For me, I had my phone alert me at 11:45 AM, 2:45 PM, 5:45 PM, 8:45 PM, and 11:45 PM, as those were usually ones that I would be more likely than not to be able to attend. It may sound silly, but it's easy to forget if you get caught up in other activities, in-game or out. Keep in mind that the event happens at 3 hour intervals according to your SERVER time, so be sure to adjust accordingly if your local time is different.
If at all possible for you, try to prioritize attending matches being held at unpopular times. 6:00 AM is probably the best time, with 9:00 AM being the runner up, and occasionally 3:00 AM being less populated as well, depending on your realm. I unfortunately wasn't usually able to make these times due to other obligations (and maintaining a proper sleep schedule for them), but I certainly suggest them if you can. If you happen to live in a timezone significantly different from your realm time, you can try to take advantage of that as well. For instance, if you live in PST but play on an EST realm, you can show up at 3:00 AM your time, and it would be 6:00 AM for the server, giving you a decent shot at winning. Other decent times are often prime time on nights like Tuesday and Wednesday where many people are raiding or engaged in other activities, and I've seen some pretty desolate 9:00 PM matches on those nights, believe it or not. Ultimately, it will vary from day to day, and with each server, so show up as often as you can.
With regard to actually fighting for the chest, I suggest balancing your CC/interupting abilities with trying to click the chest. Unless you have a very large group of people all dedicated to helping you, doing nothing but spam clicking the chest won't often win it for you. If you're in a good battle, remember to alternate in your CC or damaging abilities roughly every 3-7 seconds, while trying to click the chest in between. For instance, as a warrior, unless I was in the process of opening the chest, I would use Thunder Clap on cooldown to ensure that nobody else would be uninterrupted for more than 6 seconds at a time. I tried to time stuns and fears accordingly as well, but would still repeatedly try to click the chest in between those abilities, unless an opponent was low on health and it looked like I could kill him quickly, or unless we began to become noticeably overwhelmed.
I hope one or more of these tips helped at least somebody out there. As I said before, above all remain determined to achieve your goal and be patient, it will come in good time. Best of luck, everyone!
Some info for the loner achievement seekers like me:
I think that this achievement will be insanely hard to get (especially in a higly populated server) if you don't have a dedicated party of friends (or better, a raid) to help you get it... Plus it won't get easier in the near future.
And of course (except from the main idea) it is nothing like
. I was able to get the Gurubashi one because the GB Arena area is forgoten by high level players (only leveling characters roam the area) and the event takes place
day, every 4 hours.
The DM Faire area will always be filled with high level players doing daily quests & raising
rep and the even takes place every 4 hours for only 1 week per mounth (that's 56 tries per month). Do the math...
will take you a
time to get...
Very hard to get on high populated servers. Just getting one is hard to do on high populated servers
Its quite ridiculous that you need 12 inventory slots to keep the trinkets coz the damn faire only comes once a month and it could take months to complete given the difficulty of being the last one standing. In the meantime, you just have x number of identical soulbound trinks taking up space. I think Blizz really dropped the ball on this one. Whoever thought this up should be thrown into a ufc ring and made to wait a few months before getting out.
/add to exclude list
per Darkmoon Faire to get this prize.
The chest appears at 3 hour intervals: 3am, 6am, 9am, 12pm, etc.
It won't be accessible either Sunday at midnight, when the Faire arrives or leaves.
Do not bother to wait around in the ring before the chest appears, you will be teleported out to the entrance when it starts, to provide a fairer chance to everyone.
If you manage to loot this chest and get the
, you will also receive the following:
x 5 (
, roughly. Exact amount may vary.
A great guide how to get the achievement within a single week is actualy posted in the guides section
Darkmoon Dominator within 1 week
I can confirm that if you win the arena 24 times, you can get 2x Master Pit Fighter trinkets.
Why you would want to is beyond me. Both won't proc together, and you'll have a lot of competitors very angry with you (or maybe that IS why you'd want to).
this is a fairly easy achiv on low population realms. Especially during the later hours of the night.
Entering the arena should force you out of tank spec. Because that is just straight up cheating.
dmf cross realm now. will anyone ever get this achievement ever again with all the competition from people from other servers?
Good luck getting 12 trinkets now for this achievement now that the Darkmoon Faire is a Cross Realm Zone. The graveyard is very close and the fighting area is now a battle royale.
Add the fact that each individual trinket takes up its own inventory slot and you need to gather twelve of these. Inventory space is tight for many of us who've been playing for years on end, so you'd better have a lot of patience if you want to attempt to complete this achievement.
Currently most of North America is observing Daylight Saving Time. The
appears at midnight and every three hours thereafter, i.e.
(Pacific Daylight Time, GMT-7). This equates to 1/4/7/10 MDT, 2/5/8/11 CDT, and again 3/6/9/12 EDT.
Thanks to the
Patch 5.1: Realm Event Time Changes
, server time does not matter, and of course local time never mattered because the game doesn't know or care where you live.
As for what happens when DST ends, we will have to see. I wasn't checking between 11/27/2012 (when 5.1 was released) and 3/10/2013 (when DST began), and the comments at
shed no light because they all refer to server time...without saying what time zone the server is in.
I hate to be one of those people who complain about CRZ, because this achievement was SUPPOSED to be highly competitive. Still, hard not to kick myself for not finishing this achievement before CRZ came in. Now it's a hearty scrum no matter what time of day it is. I mean... it's fun... but my chances of finishing the achievement are slim to bupkis unless I recruit some pocket healers and CCers.
you can get under the arena and get trinkets, in a fashion that you are unhittable by players
wondering if i should text it out or if you guys know easy free screen capture software (ezvid sucks terrible its frozen the whole time) will post text version now and upload vid version if i get proper software before they hotfix this

EDITS: so fall all these edits have been in 30min for structure spelling nitpicking ect, and plan to add video hopefully
Note that now that we are in November and ... Oh for craps sake I can't remember if we are in DST now or not, but I know that where EST and PST were aligned forthe Deathmatch before 11/3/2013 (i.e. occurred at 3/6/9/12) before we "fell back" and got and extra hour, now the deathmatch occurs at 2/5/8/11 EST (i.e. an hour EARLIER).
So what's up with this? Is noone getting ported out of the arena when a match begins anymore? Cause I definitely saw a goblin mage and tauren druid staying inside and looting it before anyone else had time to channel the entering. Are you ported out when the npc yells that the darkmoon deathmatch is about to begin, instead of when the chest spawns?
The fastest way to open the chests on arena is to click on gate 9-10 seconds after announcement. Check on video this ninja style (Unfortunately there was not so much people):
IMO the cast time for opening the chest is ridiculously too long, but w/e. Frustrating to say the least, I'd rather do a random battleground
I just watched a Demon Hunter somehow cheat the chest. He didn't get ported out when the duel began, getting the chest before anyone else could get in. No idea how it was done.
I have 13 Pit Fighter Trinkets and so won 13 of these dm's. The thirdteen'd time I looted the chest I got the same exact items as you normally get when looting it.
When I press the trinket it tells me I already have completed that quest.
- No Darkmoon dominator Archievement
- No Returning Champion Trinket
In order to achieve this, you need to bring your 12
(the NPC in front of the Deathmatch Pavilion).
With shared loot, you can open the chest with everyone inside the arena, meaning if you group up or stay out of a group you can all get the items inside.
Multiple people can loot this trinket, in a party or outside it. If nobody completely empties the chest, it can be looted multiple times. Just tested, both me and a partymate received it, as well as (i think, language barrier and all) someone from the opposite faction.
The trick is to NOT EMPTY the chest. Take only the trinket, and you can share it. Nice for those of us who like achievements but don't like PVP, or people on high pop realms. :)
I don't know the limit of exactly how many people can loot it, only tested with me and one other in my party. I would imagine a full party of five could, with the possibility of being able to treat it like a 2x4 group.
If you turn off auto loot and just grab the trinket the chest stays up. Learned that today!
