Fairly straightforward. While doing the daily 铭记之事, you get memories in a series from one of the NPCs mentioned in the achievement. So this will require completing the WQ several times.

Edit: If you didn't get credit for a particular character... its probably because you rushed thru clicking the scrolls. Go slowly and give several seconds after the dialog before clicking the next one.

This achievement is currently bugged, not unlike Flight School Graduate. Even though you complete the WQ for the appropriate memories, you either won't get credit or will have your credit cleared upon logout.

ETA: Flight School Graduate has been fixed, but it looks like this one is still broken. Hopefully it's next in line to be fixed?

What exactly do you do to get the Memory? Didn't find any NPC about... finishing the WQ just had the Thenios thanking me for collecting the recordings with nothing relating to any characters... :|

The achievement isn't bugged for me at the time. (12/04/2020)

It seems that there isn't anything specific to loot in the area. It looks to be RNG on which character tale you get for that WQ.
Just loot the memories for the WQ and whatever character is giving dialogue when you loot the WQ item is who you will gain progress on.

Nothing specific to loot, just complete WQ as per usual to see which character tale you unlock for achievement progression.

I started the quest and received Uther's memories upon looting the first three scrolls. Then nothing for the rest of the scrolls and after finishing the WQ I still did not show Uther completed for the achievement.

Think for this achievement you need to complete a sequence of memories for each character. Got Pelagos credit after getting 5 memory "sayings".
Each character is probably also on rotation for when the world quest is up. Pelagos one day, another the next. Will test and give update next time world quest is up.

Update! Got Eridia this time. Can confirm now, need to get 5 sayings to get credit.

Just got all the Uther ones. You have to complete the wq a lot of times, today every second note I clicked Uther spoke and at the final one he was checked off in the achievement. :)

Noticed something interesting when the WQ was up today in EU. Last 2 times the WQ was up I got Mikanikos both times, and when I went there today before daily reset (9 am) and clicked the first scroll, it was Mikanikos again, so I've decided just to go do other stuff. Later during the day I decided to go back and see if maybe the daily reset changes the character - and it actually does! I still had 1/10 completed when I came back, but the first, and all other scrolls I clicked were for Chyrus.

After completing the WQ I've got Chyrus marked as done in the achievement. Now, the idea I have is that, since these WQs are always 24 hours long, we always have 2 chances (before, and after daily reset) to get a certain character, ~~and maybe if both of them are new they could both get marked as completed? But this needs further testing.~~ edit: You can't get credit for both of them, since only the 5th dialogue triggeres the character as completed.

TLDR: Check the WQ before daily reset, click 1 scroll, if you have that character completed wait for the daily reset (8 or 9 AM server time) and try again. You need the 5th dialogue to appear to get credit.

This is completely bugged for me. I did the quest 4 times now. The first one had Mikanikos and just didn't count, the second one had Sophone and counted, and the last two didn't have anyone at all. I've clicked the scrolls and no dialogue came up.

i just got the one for pelagos. i clicked each scroll and waited. if a dialogue box popped up, i waited until it disappeared before moving to the next scroll. every other scroll i clicked had a dialogue box. the rest of the scrolls did nothing when i clicked on them. each dialogue box seemed like a piece of a journal entry from pelagos, and there didn't seem to be any missing (the 'story' in each one continued seamlessly without interruption). when i read the final message from pelagos (the 9th scroll) i got credit for the criteria.

not sure if i just got lucky and didn't encounter the bug or if standing still for the dialogue scrolls is mandatory, but it doesn't seem like all the scrolls are intended to produce a dialogue box, so them not appearing is not indicative of the WQ being bugged. so, if you don't get them for every single scroll, just finish the WQ anyway, i guess, and you could still get credit.

eta: just did the WQ again. this time it was uther's memories, but it functioned the same way. every odd scroll (starting with scroll #1) was a piece of uther's memory, ending with the 9th scroll (out of 10 total required for the WQ), which gave me credit for the "uther" criteria of the achievement.

Last time I did this wq I didn't get progress for the achievement (Kalisthene memories), I may have rushed it a bit back then.
Today I did the wq slower and waited until the text box disappeared before interacting with another memory, I noticed I got more of the text boxes this time than last time, and I got progress for the achievement.
That was all I did differently each time, dunno if it had anything to do with it or not, or maybe it's fixed by now.

The world quest tied to this achievement is not guaranteed to cycle through every achievement requirement, as Uther is the subject today in NA which is a repeat.

I get Kalisthene every time. It's been 4 times now, I believe. Each time, no matter what else I do (waiting in-between, interacting with the scrolls in a different order, etc.), I never get her fifth text box and I don't get credit toward the achievement. I'm fairly certain that I won't be offered any other NPCs' stories until I am able to complete Kalisthene's. I also reported this as a bug the last time the WQ was up more than a week ago, and still no fix from Blizzard.

UPDATE (12/31): I waited through a few times of the WQ popping without trying it again because I hadn't seen any mention of an acknowledged bug being fixed. However, as a Bastion calling was expiring last night (12/30), I went ahead and did this quest. I did not get Kalisthene again; instead, I got Uther, which I was able to complete! I can't tell yet if Kalisthene's may still be bugged at 4/5 when hers is up, but I was at least able to make progress toward the achievement. Additionally, some people had definitely mentioned in other comments here that Uther was bugged in the past, so it's nice to see that his can be completed now. (Hopefully other people aren't still having the issue.)

UPDATE #2 (1/5): As of today, Blizzard has apparently released a fix for this particular bug! Kalisthene should now give proper credit. Have not had a chance to test it yet.

UPDATE #3 (1/27): Finally got Kalisthene again, and was able to complete her whole story. I received the fifth comment on 9/10 quest completion, as expected, and now I have all except Kleia. Hopefully it's working for everyone!

So I did the WQ today 12/25/2020 (server) and had no dialogue at all when clicking on the memories. I only had Thenios talk to me once the WQ popped up and after I completed it. Has this happened to anybody else? Now I do want to say this is not my 1st time doing this WQ and I have credit for for others but this time no dialogue at all for all ten memories!

I have completed this WQ several times now.
I have successfully gotten credit for:
* Eridia, Hand of Purity
* Chyrus, Paragon of Humility
* Uther

However, I have got the WQ tied to "Kalisthene" 4 times now, and every time I complete it for Kalisthene, it fails to give me credit.
I don't do anything differently than I did with the ones that did give me credit.

I finally got credit for Chyrus, I used about 9 scrolls before it gave credit. Not sure if you need to "trigger" a certain dialogue, or active it x amount of times.
Chyrus spoke for ~5 of them, others were blank (no talking heads)

What appears to me is this happens in different areas and at different time sometime there may be 2 up as said by other it falls under a world quest Things Remembered. each quest cover a certain one IE: Keia or Pelagos you need to click the scroll's you need to do more than 5 just complete the quest will give you credit for each storyline. As with all things with WOW you need to check daily and do it daily other words when wow tell you not to play to much WOW they give you a good reason to come back daily. Im still killing Steel frizzy daily now for almost a year waiting for a dam vinyl drop good luck and may the percentages be with you

Today, thanks to a few people on Daugen's community, we found out the secret about this achievement and how it works ! Characters are tied to different SHARDS. You then can focus on specific characters without having to do the world quest hundreds of times to get the one you need. We also found out that the "saying" (dialog) that could give progress towards the achievement was the last one, on 9th or 10th scrolls. Abusing this, you can finish the achievement on one go. Look at these steps :

1) Go to 9/10 on world quest "Things Remembered"
2) Get some friend (who are on others shards/servers) and make them inviting you OR you can enter on some custom groups(questing/raid (if it's the Valinor's week especially)) and make sure that you are on "raid mode". Make sure the character on another shard who invites you is in BASTION, or you'll not be phased on their shard.
3) Once on raid mode, click on a scroll and you'll see what is the character. If you didn't have it yet, it will count for progress.
4) Repeat the process with different shard/realms/warmode until you finish the achievement.

Remind going on raid mode every time or you'll have to wait until next time the world quest comes.

KLEIA doesn't spawn as of 4th February 2021, probably bugged. I suggest you to in-game bug report her to have it fixed fast. She's the only that NOBODY in the world has found in any way (even the top tier achievements hunters). I will update it when she's fixed.

EDIT : As of Today (11st March 2021), and after 9.0.5 release, Kleia is fixed and this achievement can now be finished.

The WQ appears to pop in two different locations. However, I have only been able to get credit for any tales when the quest takes place in The Mnemonic Locus.

This achievement is so dumb. I havent missed the WQ once since launch and I shard hop every time its up, trying to get Kleia and i just cant seem to find her anywhere. Come on Blizzard.

I did to 9/10 some did not trigger any dialog. And others triggered only Uther dialog. I joined a raid read close to 20 memorandums. All of them triggered Uther dialog.

I am thinking the dialogs are from one of these characters per day.

Can someone confirm this?

Eridia, Hand of Purity

I met a most fascinating aspirant, recently. Her name is Lysonia and we bonded over a mutual affinity for music.
She played the harp, I played the flute. We serenaded one another for hours before parting ways. We agreed that we would like to train together at the next available opportunity.
When we met at the sparring arena, it was if I had entered into a dance. Our movements were so in sync. I nearly forgot that we were supposed to be training!
After, we found a quiet spot to peer out toward Elysian Hold and we shared our dreams for the future. She hopes to join Devos in the Temple of Loyalty, while I look to Purity for my destiny.
I feel as if I have known her for eons. Do you think... she will agree to be my Soulbind?

Kalisthene

I wish to recount what has become the most consequential day in our long history.
It was a day like any other. Aspirants went about their journeys. Stewards tended to them. The Ascended came and went from Oribos in the usual way.
I recall so clearly... the steady stream of souls from Oribos to our realm simply... stopped. One moment we were greeting the newest arrivals, the next moment there were none.
At first we felt it merely a pause. After all, noble souls worthy of Bastion are not so common! But then a day passed. Then two. Then ten.
Our decline is a slow one. Marked with cautious but baseless optimism. This has never happened before. But in the end... I must ask... Who are we without new aspirants to train?

Chyrus, Paragon of Humility

I find myself in need of reflection and my good friend Thenios bade me come here. Will you, dear parchment, relieve me of this burden I now carry?
I lost an Aspirant today. I am not so vain as to think their fate was firmly within my control, but even so, the loss was sudden... and painful.
She was nearing the end of her trials. My temple was the last that stood between her and Ascension, and yet it was not pride that caused her to falter.
She spoke of an incalculable loss. Of a life she no longer recognized save in records and writings. The path, she said, erased who she was!
I tried to remind her of all that she had gained, but in the end... I find myself asking if this was the only way. I have only questions, dear scroll, and no answers.

I asked again, today, when I can attempt my final rite. Again, no answers. This place has taught me patience, certainly, but still I find it tested.
I see the frustration of my fellow Aspirants. I feel it most acutely myself, but I must not show it. They look up to me! Pelagos looks up to me...
When will this drought end? What caused it in the first place? Do the Ascended know, or are they just as lost as we are? How I wish I had answers.
I must remember my training. Center myself. Find peace in the things I can control.
Do it for Pelagos, Kleia... Do it for him.

Pelagos

I am told that writing things down grants one the ability to reflect and distance themselves from their problems. Let me see...
Today, I again attempted the Rite of Purity. My Soulbind reassured me that I was ready. I felt strong, at first! But then I succumbed, as I always do.
Why am I so terrible at this? It all makes perfect sense when Kleia explains it, but when it comes time to act, I seem to forget all that I have learned.
Sometimes I worry I will never ascend. I will be sent back to Oribos, and the Arbiter will peer at my soul and--
Wait. I am not alone in this. I have Kleia, after all! Like she says, I get a little better each time. Some day, I will overcome! Some day...

Forgelite Sophone

I was meditating on my life before and I recalled something most important. This recording shall serve as a reminder, in the eons to come.
I was not a maker before I came to Bastion. In fact, beyond the art of war I had no skill of great value. I served my people, yes, but at what cost?
As I neared the end of my life, I realized I would depart having only taken from my world. The only gift I gave was death.
My soul woke in Bastion. I learned to work a forge. That drive I felt in life took a new form. I could create, instead of destroy.
I see it now, this path that I have always walked. I will not forget it.

Uther

All around me, the Ascended speak of the Path. The trials by which each soul must find its peace, its eternity, after a lifetime of flawed mortality.
I have tried to forget. I have tried to forgive. Yet... He lingers in every waking thought. Down every path.
This anger is foreign to me. Unrecognizable. I must cleanse it. That is my path. My Paragon said it should be so, and it WILL be so.
The Light has damned your soul, Arthas. May it rot in the Maw!
Will his fate ever bring me peace? Will I ever be free of him? Perhaps... in time. Perhaps.

Mikanikos

As is tradition among the Forgelite Primes before me, I invented something new!
We have many centurions, all with different purposes. Big strong ones. Fast ones that fly. Quick ones that you can ride, yes.
I thought--what do centurions not do? They speak, but they are not smart. They do not know things. Why not?
I am Forgelite Prime, so I made one. I took a Praetor and gave it a mind core. It repeats things too many times, but it answers questions! Very... very simple questions.
Think of possibilities! All the knowledge we can store! I shall call it... a Mnemis. Yes. Genius!

If, like me, you are struggling to find people to help with swapping shards, there is a way to do it on your own. Be warned, this is a long winded way of doing it, but it does work if you want to get the achievement done in one go.

Every time you turn WM on or off it obviously puts you on a different shard, so as you have probably guessed by now, this involves going to the WQ area, clicking a scroll, return to a rested area to turn WM off, go back to the WQ, try another scroll, go to OG, turn WM on, back to the quest area etc etc etc. Remember to invite an alt when 9/10 and convert to raid to prevent the WQ from being completed.

I first tried this method early in the morning when not many people were on and got 4/8 then it kept putting me on the same shards. So I went about my business for a few hours, came back got a couple more and then on my third attempt later that day I got the final ones as more shards/different shards were available.

This is a lengthy process as you obviously run the risk of getting put on a shard for one you don't need or there simply not being enough active shards at one time. It is however a way of doing it if you can't find people to swap shards with.

Got Kleia today on US-Thunderlord with WM Off. Get her while you can.

Recommend checking custom group finder for Valinor with a leader on Thunderlord.

Looks like its connected with Azgalor, Azshara, and Destromath servers so maybe look for those as well.

The RNG on this quest is really weird. I haven't gotten Chyrus once so far, and I swear I've been doing the quest every time it was up since February.
I suggest the shard hopping method, otherwise this achievement can take ages.

true = achievement is not completed, and the required quest is available and should be added to the world quest tracker
false = achievement is not completed but not the required quest available

The easiest way to do this is to wait until the world boss and the world quest is up in Bastion. Then you can just hop between world boss groups in the group finder until you get the right shards. Took me around 15 minutes. Just make sure the groups are actually raids and not parties.

I was hunting for this achievement for the past month, in my first week I made the whole change shard thing and got all the characters except Pelagos. I did it every time the world quest was available and there was no pelagos for me, a month later when the world boss was available again I was trying it for 2 or 3 hours again and there was still no pelagos for me. What I did was to change my warmode off to warmode on and on my third attempt I finally got Pelagos. So, if you are struggling with this achievement try changing the wm.

I discovered this achivement today and already had 3 characters checked off. Reading the scrolls i had Kalisthene 6 times, Thanios twice and twice nothing. After the last Kalisthene text (9th scroll reading, "Kalisthene says: Our decline is a slow one. Marked with cautious but baseless optimism. This has never happened before. But in the end... I must ask... Who are we without new aspirants to train?") she was checked off in the achievement.

Edit:
Today i had a lot of Forglite Sophone pieces, the 9th was "I see it now, this path that I have always walked. I will not forget it." after which the achivement progressed.

After having done this WQ pretty much every time it's been up for months, it would be nice if Kleia had been at least one of them...
Couldn't they have put this on set rotation instead of "random"? This is the same bull@#$% as the Maldraxxus Maw Assault quest that was needed for the hand mount.

Can anyone confirm if they managed to complete all 8 parts of this on the same day using the Valinor world boss cheese? I've managed to do 7/8 very quickly and i've been spamming groups for over an hour now to get the 8th with no luck. Is it possible blizzard have set 7 of these up to be available during the world quest to avoid players from doing it in one day?

I only need Eridia to complete this achievement and something funny happened.

The quest was up for a long duration and the daily reset was between that time, i completed it with my main with no luck (Uther memories) and then played with an alter.

Doing the same quest after the reset, the memories changed to Eridia... e.e

So... My advice is... If you need an especific npc and the quest have the daily reset during it´s duration... Try with an alter first, if the memories are not the correct ones wait for the reset and make it with your main.
