Anyone else disappointed that this doesn't reward a mount like the SoO achievement did. Especially now that its confirmed as the last patch being that the new xpac is being announced in a few days.
Unlike similar achievements in the past, this AotC is a "2-for-1". You'll also receive a monument in your garrison ("The King in Green") from "Time is a Flat Circle".
Of all 3 WoD curves, Archimonde was the easiest one to achieve - the gear curve v. raid difficulty was more forgiving despite the fact how chaotic Archimonde fight is - plus, with the legendary ring it was easier to complete the fight as well. I can't tell which one was harder - Blackhand or Imperator but I needed way more wipes with PuGs to beat them. Just my opinion on that :)
Edit: I believe downvotes come from angry people who failed at Archi hero? I don't know why people downvote a comment with a personal opinion...
I've been in several PUGs requiring AoTC and they were mostly failed groups with 3-4 dps doing <35k so I am not sure why PUGs are still requiring it since it is absolutely NOT a good judge of player. The only reason I can think of is that they are trying to get what they think are good players to carry a handful of their crap friends through more advanced content...kind of a get gear quick scheme that is further screwing the few good players out there. Just bring back attunements please. LFR is good enough for crap, half-hearted raiders.
Will this achievment still be obtainable after 6.2.3?
I've earned this achievement and it shows up in the achievement summary, but not under feats of strength or anywhere else. It's not linkable under the summary - any idea where this achieve is supposed to be listed so I can link it? It's difficult to get into a heroic pug without linking it.
This achievement will show up under feats of strength, but
on the toon or toons that have earned it. The other toons can see it under the summary, but not link it. So, you can only link AOTC for pugs on the toon you've already earned it on, and it doesn't "transfer" to your alts, so it's not really an account-wide achieve.
I just defeated Archimonde on heroic difficulty and i got neither the achiev nor the quest item drop, happened to anyone else?
I've been working on gearing for this for months, having started playing again halfway into WoD. I've gotten as far as iLVL 704 and the legendary ring.
Every time I've asked to be in a group for this I've been turned down for not having already achieved this.
I was going to break down and just PAY someone to take me in a raid. Never having cared about this before I had no idea how one does that in a not shady or breaking the ToS way, but I was going to try. This is literally the only thing I've really wanted to obtain in WoW, like, EVER.
This week I looked up information for days on WHEN this would become a feat of strength and everything I read said "When Legion is released" or "when Legion hits" or "when Legion arrives" etc. which one would assume means WHEN IT IS ACTUALLY PLAYABLE on August 30. I didn't see anything specifically mentioning 7.0 patch.
What happened to the achiv? I can not see it anymore in my achiev list!
If I understand this correctly this is an achievement from the previous expansion that you can't even get anymore. So why is everyone requiring it when looking for a raid? I didn't play during WoD so am I just SoL on this one?
