Got in a chest in Arathi. I am a druid and STFwhat if I use it? Heh, there are occasions when a group just completely suxors and you're left to fend for your self with zero mana... a single hit with that chance shadow or fiery on it has saved me at least once. Of course, I should avoid groups that suxors but... I to help and play. Ah, yeah and I'm only level 33, so sure there will be a time when something else comes along, but still... a pleasant surprise none-the-less. I have a nice enchanter in my guild and this thing is definitely cool. -shrug- so what if Im a noob, Im having fun. Someday Ill frown on others, too!

this staff is a little crap ill admit, no mage warlock or priest would use it over illusinary. but however i do beleive a shaman would benefit from this staff the most, i mean imagine what would happen if it procced off on all 3 atks on a windfury? also thismay just be my opinion, but i think since this weapon has existed since the beta mebbe this was an attempt by blizz to give casters a hybrid feel when they run out of mana, to perhaps go and run into battle screaming like a lunatic with this :D.

Got my my first kill in Badlands from a lesser rock mob with my mage i switch to it when i run out of mana. procs pretty good :)

Well, strangely enough: This is simply on of the few staves that is for warriors or hunters, although they probably don't bother with staves. I used it on my druid for a few levels. Pretty nice graphics for such a low staff.

ok this staff kinda sucks for its lack of stats
but i got one for my 33 shamy
it has decent damage its not that slow (more WF
procs) and the proc can proc on WF hits pretty nice for a enchant shamy

2.8 speed more attack = more WF procs decent damage and the proc will go off duing wf

i got one at the ah for my enchat shamy and i like it more than the corpsmaker

Nice staff for a caster who melees sometimes, but it lacks stats, which kind of sucks. If it had stats, I could sell it to get a Nightblade, or something else useful like that.

got mine for 4G buyout... was 1.5G start bid. there was another on the AH at the same time for 4G bid/10G buyout.

stat bonuses would be better than shadow bolt as it doesn't go off enough. Against lower level mobs it goes off a lot more though.

Unfortunately, I've found TWO of these. My characters who can use staff all have better. I have trouble unloading it on the market, as why get a staff for 17g when you can get a better one for 20g? If anyone is interested in buying one, message me.

a proc on hit doesn't seem very useful for a caster. The lack of stat bonuses on this staff makes it even less appealing...maybe good for a druid.

i have killed the warug body guards so many times i cannot count no blue drops slauthered everything bu tthe abashi demon and still no staff. i think u just have to be luck after 4lvls of monster farming over two weeks i give up!

I got 56 "Shadow Bolts" from 1,070 basic auto-attacks. Roughly translates to 5.2% chance-on-hit (or 1 PPM), with 3 crits that probably translates to a built-in 5% crit chance, each of which dealt 1.5x damage of base. The resulting added average dps is +2, which can increase if you're using any "extra attack" abilities like Windfury or Hamstring. The proc doesn't scale with +Spell Damage.

The proc animation looks and sounds like a regular Warlock Shadow Bolt spell.

Since there was no concrete data on the proc rate of this thing, I decided to do some investigating. As the anecdotal remarks from days of yore suggest, the proc is rather underwhelming.

Recorded hits: 1070
Procs: 56
Proc chance: 5.6%
PPM: 1
Other: proc does not scale with spell damage; proc used to be GCD blocked (couldn't proc during 1.5 second GCDs until it was patched from Classic in 2021); uses the same exact proc as 影刃 and 死亡召喚者
