the reason that it is blue is because of its redicuosly high AC rating, which is purely insane at lvl 20. This is a good chestpiece for tanking, as items with +def are not really available at that low of a level. i actually really want this for may paladin, who will be asoloing machine when i get good mail everything.

I just used a armor calculator. It says 311 armor at lvl 20 reduces attacks by 12.8%. Now how is that not good. You basicly have almost all the armor a cloth class has if they dont have an increse armor buff on them.

P.S. Just throw in a 100+ Health enchant and you can all stop complaining. 311 armor and 10 stam sure sounds good to me :).

I am in lvl 28, and using it.

I use it because it gives 5% more dmg reduction.
It is good for a tank, but i will get an armor with stats later...

I had this armor when I was in the early 20's long long time ago in a galaxy far far away. In anycase just wanted to post a comment. If your wearing this, dont put on a tabbard because you cover up the ridiculously halarious Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle texture of the armor. Wear it proud, and say it loud! Turtles in a half shell, turtle power!

there are only 24 blue chest items with more armor with from 1-60 (not counting PVP repeast)(and the chest with randoim stats from ST)

Since it has no boosts it clearly looks like it would be good for a warrior, especially at level 20. I'm not saying pallies suck (i have pally as my main) but i just think it's meant perfectly for warriors.

that is a LOT of armor for that level.

my level 30somthing chestpiece has about 348, and thats also insanely high. most that level have about 200-270

I think this is a sweet piece. Mist people gripe that it is twice the ac they have, or, if you make your own stuff, it still outweighs everything else by 100 (or therabouts) at level 20.

Very nice. And as someone said...enchant it and you have one awesome peace of kit, which if you are going for a tank, should be goal to own at this level.

fire hardened hauberk only gets 218 armor, but +5 strngth and +14 stamina. the best part is that it increases rage by 30! loot 21, i hope you're a pally or you've really been missing out.

Well, I had like 168 armor before that and when i got this for my lvl 21 it really boosted my armor to heavens =D Im 35 and still using it because i havent got better so far (not really been at instances lately)
Its kinda funny that in AH same amount of chest armor is reguired like 43.

Yep, just armor. I wouldn't wear it over the one I have now, which most blacksmiths should be able to make by the time they go to BFD: 218 armor, plus 6 strength, plus 14 stamina, I believe.

Earlier today i ran the BFD with a friend, me a lvl 27 warrior and him a 30 hunter. We ran to the Turtle boss 3 times until he dropped the armor =) . Very good armor, looks very nice and even better when enchanted. I enchanted it with 35+ health.

This may not have enhancements like +5 defense but it is the highest ac chest piece at this level.

Encahnt it..i got a 50% enchant on it at lvl 20 and still using it at level 27 for the armour and the extra mana.

At level 20 this is good for tanking, but the last boss in this instance is level 28 so you would need a carry at that level. Just not a lot of situations I see this being useful. At 25 you can get the shining silver breastplate from blacksmithing which is less armor but 14 strength and 6 stamina, and 25 is a more reasonable level to be in this dungeon.
