For anyone looking: No, this item does NOT have a 2% drop rate (as you can see from people using the Wowhead client to upload their data). The drop rate has not been increased for SoD.

This will, on average, take hundreds of kills if you're planning on farming her. Good luck to everyone.

EDIT: Prior to Wowhead changing this page, this dagger was showing a 0.15% drop chance with 12 drops out of 7,943 kills. I'm not sure why this was removed. Proof it exists:

Edit 2: The drop rate seems to be increased with the recent update but with Wowhead not supporting drop statistics for some reason I doubt we'll ever know. If it was increased, I think it's safe to say it's around 2% HOWEVER please keep in mind that when SoD phase 3 first launched, people were insisting it was a 2% drop rate or even higher because they personally got it quickly. The statistics showed it was somewhere closer to 0.1-0.2% which really should show you just how unreliable these first hand accounts are.

As of 4/16 the drop rate of this dagger appears to have been substantially increased for SoD P3. While it was speculated based on previous data (that was removed from Wowhead at the time of posting this) that the drop rate was 0.2%, the original value in Vanilla WoW, it is now theorized to be closer to 10% as many Discords are reporting sub-10 lockouts to see it drop.

Prior to 16/04 I had done ca 180 runs and no drop.
After 16/04 I did 19 runs and got it.

It has been two days since the alleged drop rate buff on SoD (April 17th). I have been solo farming this dagger with roughly 20-30 runs per day and I haven't seen a single drop (nearing 200 kills since phase 3 dropped). I could be unlucky, but the lack of other players reporting drops here on Wowhead, reddit and on various discords means the buff remains unconfirmed and likely a lie. Sad that an accelerated realm gimps casters like this when epic ZF sword drop rate was buffed massively for melees.

Ive done 121 runs pre-buff, and 27 runs after the buff. Still hasn't dropped.

51 runs so far with no blade, all after the alleged drop rate boost.
Personal feeling is that droprate has improved somewhat, although still low.
Guildies and friends have started reporting drops, while earlier it was dead silence.
Might be caused by an increased interest in farming it after the rumours, or increased luck? :P Who knows.
Keep on farming!

Got it after 39 pull today (after patch). Funniest thing: some dude told us in mage discord to login classic era before mara if we cant get our dagger. I did it, and got it on my 1st pull after relloging from classic era to SoD. Same thing did other mage from discord and he received dagger too!

Was hoping to see proc % on here, but I only see comments about drop rate. Anyone have a good idea on the proc chance for this? I got this on just my 4th Mara Princess run while farming WO. So I would assume it's definitely a much higher drop rate! Having no top stats obviously sucks, and only +1 on spellpower over the Gizmoblade I had before this, but tha's only a loss of 7 Stam 4 Int anyways so, not really that big of a deal. I would assume with the mana and damage gained this is a much much better weapon, especially for a scorch mage!

166 solo runs, finally dropped.

We have three in guild at the moment, with the following run breakdown:

166 Runs
12 Runs
3 Runs

I don't know if the drop rate was buffed or not. WoWHead is reporting 0.6% for this specific version of the item, that's at least double what the original drop rate was. It could have been buffed and the stats are just starting to normalize, who knows. Either way, you could get it quickly, or it could take you hundreds of runs, that much is still true.

I got mine after exactly 40 runs, post April 16. Considering it took JokerdTV 2682 runs back in the day, I think it is safe to assume that the drop rate is not 0.26%. I have yet to hear of anyone posting 500 or more runs to get the dagger. To put some math to it, with a 0.26% drop rate, you would have a 50% chance of seeing the dagger after 267 runs. With a 2% drop rate, you would have a 50% chance of seeing the dagger after 35 runs.

finally got it somewhere around 140-150 solos. that's on top of ~30 or so wild offering group runs prior to that, and it was still the first time i had seen it.

Dropped for me on run #126 today. If the droprate was 2% then I had a 92% chance of seeing it by then. Personally I feel that it's more likely around 1% -- but what do I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

First ever Mara run in SoD (for quests/Scepter mainly), kill Princess, Blade drops first kill, I'm the only one who can use it. So RNGesus does sometimes favor your endeavors. Modas Karkun however can suck a wiener.

Yeah... so it's definitely not 2% drop rate. It is 1% drop rate because so far, I have done 93 runs and haven't seen it drop at all.

I got lucky, got it on my second run @lvl 49! I’ve heard it’s not great for shadow priests but I’ll still use it while leveling cuz of its rarity. I haven’t really tested it much yet but I did notice a few procs of gaining 100 mana.
