BE AWARE:

The in-game tooltip says 40s vendor selling price (with all addons disabled), but it actually only sells for 24s 81c, what it says here on Wowhead.

This is currently bugged in-game and people are taking advantage, scamming those who snipe "cheaper than vendor price" items on the AH. (They usually sell it around 38s, so buyers think they will make a 2 silver profit each, but in fact will lose 13s 19c.)

There are several people reporting this on the Blizzard forum, but the bug is still in the game! (January 8, 2024)

The problem is that the game client itself lies to the player.
