5 minute cooldown. It's really overrated and hardly deserves to be epic. Even in pvp, one wouldn't be particularly fond of this. I find it best suits doing lower level content where there are many mobs that attack you, being the only/main healer in a 5 man group. By this point, you might have reactive fade, which negates the need for this. Personally, I'd rather run with 2 regen based trinkets.

Kind of sad the cooldown is prohibitively long and the effect is underpowered. /shrug.

It provides roughly 6-7% dmg mitigation + minor heals on hit. definitely useful for group pvp action even though the cooldown is an issue. but then, if you are willing to utilitize trinkets in pvp; switching them is a must and you should get used to that.

This unused trinket could find a new home in many priests' bags with the addition of pain suppression. With the 60% decreased damage, popping both at the same time would make the 35 life healed by every hit a significantly larger percent of the incoming damage. Coupled with a renew and/or a flash heal or two, this could mean surviving those 3 rogues that seem to be permanently attached to your backside in battlegrounds.

this would be awesome for city raids when you get guard zerged. Back when I played, it seemed that city guards always had a ton of hp but no attack power. Say your average tanking priest has 3000 armor to start out with (mine did), plus shadowform, plus the trinket. If you get guard zerged from healing people (happens a lot in pick up raids with idiots who want healing but don't want to keep all the guards off you) or you're by yourself: hit the trinket button and the guards will probably not only keep you alive, but heal you back to full health. For 20 seconds. There, it's awesome in that situation. I just randomly came to me all of the sudden so I felt like I had to post it.

Plus healing effects don't affect trinkets. Could have made some easy money betting that guy above.

Yeah, it adds 500 armor when used for 20 sec and during that 20sec you also heal 35 everytime hit. +healing would make it uber, now it's just slightly useful. The biggest problem is that you have loads of nice trinkets to wear, you can only wear 2 at a time, and not swap in fights. I don't think I would use this very often. Maybe in special situations only

I switched this trinket on often when we were doing the highwarlord push for a few people in my guild. With 5k HP, improved inner fire, arathi basin quest armor, improved renew, hakkar trinket, vampiric embrace, and this trinket....I was quite a pain in the ass to bring down :) I had about 38% damage absorbtion with insane regen (works great vs. hunters and their pets).

But yeah, there's no situation I can think of in PvE where you would use this.

It only adds the +500 armor once. See how the "Use" text is a link? Click that to see the actual mechanics behind its effect. It adds 500 to your armor, then adds a proc triggered by spell or melee damage that fires off the heal.

Uh...maybe it would be useful in PvP?...Or maybe it'll get buffed someday...or maybe you'd like a Nexus Crystal...or maybe you'll just vendor it for 7 gold. :P

If your guild uses a DKP system, don't let them charge you for this.

One fun thing you could probably do with this trinket is to go to Field of Giants in Barrens, gather a bunch of silithid swarmers, let them summon their minions (there'll be tons of them) and then activate the trinket. The minions (teh little roaches) all hit for 1 dmg, so you'll be getting healed pretty quick (now if we only could get them to follow us to some place useful :P).
Your armor will get ruined in minutes so come naked. And bring some aoe-explosives to get rid of them (or you could just run away :P)

Don`t know what bliz was thinking when they made this..

35 heal over hit is nothing. Especially when it is activated on use. 500 armor with low base armor like priests have is allso crap.

There is tons trinkets that are more usefull than this and most of them are not even epic quality.

Healing priests use heal /regen improving trinkets. As a shadow spec, i would never use this or waste my dkp. any +damge trinket out there is much better in pvp.

The only thing that conforts me is that most of the other class trinkets are crap too.

I can see this trinket being useful for PvP, but seriously, you can only use it every 5 minutes and it only lasts for 20 seconds. If the effect was permanent it would be a truly epic PvP trinket (still useless for PvE of course). But realistically, I don't know many priests who give up the eye of the beast (+2% spell crit) or other easily attainable blue trinkets to equip this.

This trinket was nerfed and +healing gear no longer affects it. Now I never want it. Otherwise everytime someone hit me I'd get healed for around 400-500 HP per hit. This would be great vs. rogue duels especially if the cooldown was short like TOEP. Unfortunatly they totally gimped it. Maybe if it was a "passive" effect instead of a "use for 20 seconds" effect it'd be worth using in PVP. 20 seconds of a little extra armor? No thanks. Very dissapointed with this class trinket.

This is the Priest Trinket? Are you kidding?

A 35 pt heal in a zone where you are getting hit for 1000-2000? An extra 500 Armor which roughly equals another 10% Damage mitigation?

As a Priest, getting hit by a regular MOB equals a good 1500pt per swing. Getting hit by a Boss is probably 2000+. Taking an extra 200 off the top because of the 500 Armor, is not going to help. Neither is the 35 Damage when you just got hit for 1800.

a priest in my guild has this+ zandalar hero badge, he has 5600 buffed armor. That's more than a warrior with a 2h out. Throw up a PW:S and have the little rogue white damage heal you and you are actually pretty tough to take down for a priest. With that much armor even a perdations ambush will crit for about 1k instead of 1800.

just something to think about it before you swear it off, 500 armor is almost as much as a plate chest

20 seconds of 500 more armor? Oh boy, Inner Fire got an expansion pack.

The entire purpose of this trinket is to reduce damage you take. Which is:

* Useless in MC/BWL because if the group is competent you shouldn't be taking any damage. And it's less than 1% difference anyway.
* Useless in world PVP (read: Rogue attacks you) because it needs to be activated. Something you probably can't do while stunlocked.
* Useless in BG for a little of both the previous reasons.

If +healing worked on this trinket, It would be usable. With full Transcendence and a host of other epic +healing gear, This trinket would heal about 700hp/hit, meaning you could shrug off a hit or two in MC and survive significantly longer in BG.

But no. Why do you hate us Blizzard? Was it something we did? I notice you gave the SHAMAN trinket a bonus to healing...why not us?

Pretty hugely useless and very lame trinket for the effort to aquire it in Blackwing Lair. The palladin one rules, the droood one is.. well very limited in use, but at least not useless.

This one is just sad.

Oh well.

Any priest that gets this trinket and feels differently, please let me know what a great trinket it is and how it helped you out.

You're forgetting that this the use of this trinket "HEALS" you for 35. If you have the Twisting Nether card, it does not bring you to live with 20 life and 20 mana. It brings you back to life with 20 life +healing gear. So roughly around 200-300 for me. Anyways, it would also go with this. So, you're look at 10% extra damage reduction, as well as 200-300 life heal everytime you're hit. Basically, this thing reduces damage beyond scale.

k . please tell me why blizz would waste a trinket like this for, like holy #$%^, all the other classes trinkets are actually usefull for them, this is going to do me #$%^ all... i was hopeing for some + healing and + speed on greater heals for a trinket, instead we get this 500 armor +35 hp everytime we get hit 2k... ggblizz.. dont forget to give shammys the good gear even though they can kick the @#$% outa everything naked..

Not for use in BWL obviously :P PVP Trinket all the way.

You're not going to PVP with 700 armor or so. If you really care about survival in the BG you'll be getting 1500+ RAW armor atleast, unbuffed. It's doable, I certainly plan to do it at level 60 and when I have time. And this trinket is just a bonus you can use whenever its possible. Pretty good IMO.

That is the dubest *!@# i have ever seen. Adding 500 to a priests armour? Why? And healing them for a pitiful 35 hp's when they are hit for an amazingly useless 20 seconds? This has to be the biggest waste of loot table space as anything i have ever seen. It is absouletly uselss. I swear the idiots at Blizzard smoke a ton of pot on the thrrid shift where they create #$%^ like this. They had to be stoned into next week to make this.

Contrary to what all the old comments are saying, this trinket is not useless. If you like to farm gold via the Dire Maul East lashers, then this item is actually very powerful for that.

Consider that this trinket will heal you for 35 health every time you are struck. Now imagine pulling multiple packs, with 30-40 lashers all hitting you at once. That's a lot of free healing while you Holy Nova the packs down. When you factor in the healing from Renew and Holy Nova, as well the mitigation from shield, Inner Fire, and armor (this trinket gives 500 armor while active too), and killing three packs at a time becomes a breeze!
