Like i said on the other forum about this, there is no way you can solo him alone, i had a 54 pally, 60rogue, 57 mage, 60 warrior, and we got owned, no way is a 60 hunter gonna solo this guy, i dont even think a pally could solo him, the guy was hitting with like 1500 dmg, 2 1/2 hits and i was done (60 rogue) so if a hunter says he solo'd this thing he must be out of his mind

Hunters can solo almost anything in this game.

Its called kiting. Cheetah and jumpshot arcane shot&stings.;

I have a 60 rogue a 41 lock and a 33 hunter, i've dueled everything out there, dueling is far different then fighting random mobs. the best solo'ers in the game are hunters and locks. especially with the new builds of the both of them... they can solo just about anything. my hunter today (level 33 mind you) was killing lv 37's 2 at a time. I do beleive hunters are nuts and can solo very well in PvE

Took him down tonight on pernolde, put up a little bit of a fight, we whiped once. group was 2 warriors. 1 warlock, 1 shaman, 1 hunter.

for enemies that you have some room to fight, shadow priests are best at soloing. his mob can be solo'd

I, lvl 47 warlock, solo the lvl 48 Twilight Hammer Elites in searing gorge np, and me gear is rubbish, i'm sure a well equipped lvl 60 hunter with some buffs could do a 62 elite... even a named one could be possible... i soloed Ol'Sooty at lvl 19 :P

There is no way of soloing this thing - i had pretty decent group goin to ST and thought we might have a go at him... We got down about 5% oh his hP, so please don't talk crap by saying Somnus is Solo-able. Hes not

Anyone who's played this game for a while will realise that a few classes can solo 60+ elites, it's just a question of strategy. Yes, your uber group of 5 might have been beaten, but I'll bet you were sitting in one place fighting, right? Soloing hard elites is all about not getting hit. it may be hard, but it's doable.

Somnus is very much not solo-able, and anyone who says differently is talking out his arse. ;)

The reason for this is very simple, and should be readily obvious for people who have played WoW to lvl 60. However, it seems not to be so. Many people apply standard rules to mobs, understandable perhaps, but that's just not how it is. Blizzard have made it so, that the level shown is not always a fixed expression of that mob's strength. You could have one lvl 60 elite solo-able by several classes, and another (take the Shadow of Doom lvl 60 things that arrived with Scourge/Naxxramas patch) lvl 60 elite that is in no way possible solo-able, even by a guy with full tier 2 and beyond.

Somnus is the same way. He's not just an ordinary lvl 62 elite dragon, killable in the same way that a lvl 57 elite would be killable by a class 2 lvls lower (warlock for example, imba ftw). Somnus is an insane thing, and if you spend some time around different lvl 60-62 elite mobs, you'll easily start to notice that there are sometimes HUGE differences. Another example is King Mosh in Un'Goro. You go try and solo him. ;)

He is not soloable properly but if youre a Hunter or lock and enjoys runninng around the swamp for 15 min firing off instant casts once in a while its probably do-able.

Me (lvl 60 hunter) just kitted him all the way to SW, and then to the keep where the guards killed him. It�s not very hard to do but the sleeping is anoying like hell, but if u got some pots it can be done.

Kit around swamp for about 2 min..frost bolt firebolt (lots of threath) then just ice lance like hell.
