Улучшенный гнев

This is a filler talent that is taken purely to advance to the second row of the Balance tree for the mandatory Природное оружие and Прирожденный оборотень talents. It is completely fine to take Природный захват + Улучшенный природный захват instead for PvP and open world farming, but Улучшенный гнев is the min-max choice for PvE, as casting Гнев has a few niche uses in raids. For example, when tanking the Twin Emperors encounter, Гнев can be cast on Император Век'лор in order to squeeze out more DPS when Император Век'нилаш is on the opposite side of the room.

Природный захват

This is a very strong talent for PvP and open world farming, but is unused in PvE settings. Feel free to pick it up instead of Улучшенный гнев as a filler talent for advancing the Balance tree.

Улучшенный природный захват

This talent buffs Природный захват to guarantee a root at max rank. Feel free to pick it up instead of Улучшенный гнев as a filler talent for advancing the Balance tree.

Улучшенный гнев деревьев

Very useful in PvP and open world farming, but it is not worth sacrificing powerful Feral or Restoration talents to pick this up.

Улучшенный лунный огонь

This talent provides little to no value for a Feral Druid.

Природное оружие

Essential talent for both DPS and tanking. A 10% total damage boost is one of the single biggest performance boosts available to Feral Druids, making Природное оружие one of the very best talents in the entire Druid talent tree. The damage boost scales with all of the stat boost talents in the Feral tree, as well as with all party and raid buffs which boost damage output.

Прирожденный оборотень

Every single Feral Druid should treat this talent as mandatory. Powershifting is extremely mana intensive, and this talent is one of the primary tools which makes it sustainable over an entire encounter. Even if you are a main tank for your guild, you should be DPSing at least occasionally if you are maximizing your raid performance (for example DPSing on trash after the Skull target dies, or after getting mind controlled in the Кел'Тузад encounter), so this talent provides value to all Feral Druids regardless of role. In WoW Classic, the much longer encounter lengths from buffed mob HP levels and the removal of world buffs will make Прирожденный оборотень even more essential than it was in the first iteration of Classic.

Улучшенные шипы

In its fully talented state, Шипы is a very useful Threat buff for tanks. However, Улучшенные шипы is too deep into the Balance tree to justify taking as a Feral Druid, so a Balance or Restoration druid should provide this buff instead.

Знамение ясности

Strong DPS and tanking talent, but not mandatory to take. For Feral DPS, the Ясность мысли proc can allow you to fit an additional Полоснуть into a powershift cycle. For bear tanking, the rage that is saved from a free Трепка cast can be used to fill an extra GCD with Размах for a free TPS boost.

Предел сил Природы

This would be an awesome quality of life talent for Feral Druids when tanking in dungeons or raids, as it allows the tank to pull mobs from further away. Unfortunately, it is too far down the Balance tree to fit into an optimized Feral build.

Сердце дикой природыГневFeral Tree Talents

Свирепость

Taking at least 3 points in this talent is mandatory for any Feral Druid who will tank even occasionally, as Трепка is the primary Threat generator for bears and the reduced Rage cost is required to maintain 100% Maul uptime against weakly hitting mobs.

Звериная агрессия

For bear tanks, this talent is very mediocre in a raid setting, since Деморализующий крик from Warriors is a strictly superior debuff when enhanced with Улучшенный деморализующий крик. If your raid leader wants you to keep up Устрашающий рев, you should make a strong case to have a Warrior do it instead for improved raid efficiency. If you will primarily be playing your Feral Druid in a cat DPS role then there is a much stronger case for taking Звериная агрессия for the boosted Свирепый укус damage.

Животный инстинкт

This is a mandatory talent for any Feral Druid who tanks even occasionally, as a straight 15% Threat boost is a more efficient use of talent points than almost anything else in the talent tree.

Жестокий удар

This is a great PvP talent that should be taken in any PvP focused build, but it is omitted in a PvE optimized build.

Плотная шкура

As mentioned in our Feral Tank Talents & Builds Guide, this talent is fairly low impact for tanking given the low tank damage levels in vanilla raids and the tendency of bears to hit the Armor cap even without it due to the Вдохновение, Стойкость предков, and Возложение рук raid buffs. It can be safely omitted in favor of DPS talents without compromising your ability to comfortably main tank all of the raid content in the game.

Кошачья скорость

This is an excellent talent for leveling, PvP, and open world content, but unfortunately does not offer any benefits for PvE raiding.

Звериная атака

Charge is a core part of the Feral Druid toolkit both in PvP and PvE, so there is no reason to ever pass it over.

Острые когти

Mandatory PvE talent that provides a significant DPS/TPS boost to Feral cats/bears.

Улучшенное полосование

This talent is non-negotiable for any Feral Druid who plays a DPS role even once in a dungeon or raid setting, as the Feral DPS rotation cannot even be executed without it.

Удары хищника

Another mandatory talent which provides a flat 90 Attack Power boost to Feral Druids in Облик кошки or Облик лютого медведя.

Кровавое неистовство

This talent provides a nice boost to a Feral's DPS output, but is less impactful than many of the core "mandatory" talents. When DPSing in Облик кошки, this talent accelerates the rate at which Combo Points can be generated. However, this does not always translate into a DPS increase, since Полоснуть will optimally be cast over Свирепый укус even when already at 5 CP if you have 63 or more Energy.

Изначальное неистовство

This talent provides a nice boost to a bear tank's TPS output, but is less impactful than many of the core "mandatory" talents. The talent effectively increases the fraction of GCDs which can be filled with Размахs for bonus Threat generation, since it reduces the average Rage expenditure required for maintaining 100% Трепка uptime.

Бешеное неистовство

Бешеное неистовство provides the single biggest TPS boost for bears of any talent in the entire tree! Bear Threat generation in vanilla scales 1:1 with the damage done by Трепка, so this talent effectively reads as a 20% total TPS increase that scales with all other damage and Threat multipliers in the game! As such, it is one of the highest priority PvE talents for Ferals, and should never be dropped in exchange for additional utility or quality of life talents.

Волшебный огонь (сила зверя)

Strictly speaking, this talent is optional in a raid environment, since Волшебный огонь is optimally applied by a Balance or Restoration Druid instead due to the lack of a cooldown on the caster version in case of resists. However, it is generally worth taking as you cannot guarantee the presence of another Druid in every raid, and the Волшебный огонь debuff is extremely impactful for overall raid DPS. When tanking in Облик лютого медведя, Ferals also have plenty of free GCDs available for refreshing the debuff after it is initially applied by a caster Druid on pull.

Сердце дикой природы

This is a mandatory talent that is one of the core foundations of the Feral tree, providing significant buffs to Druids in every form.

Вожак стаи

The sole party buff provided by Feral Druids, worth taking in any PvE build.

Restoration Tree Talents

Улучшенный знак дикой природы

In a competitive raid environment, it is a requirement for at least one Druid to take this talent for buffing the raid. Feral Druids are the worst possible choice for this, however, as they must give up either critical DPS talents or critical tanking talents in order to do so. In contrast, it is very easy for a Balance or Restoration druid to take Improved Mark.

Гнев

Absolutely essential DPS talent and the reason why powershifting even works. All Feral Druids should take this, even those that primarily tank.

Улучшенное целительное прикосновение

Useless for Feral DPS or tanking, but a huge value add when off-healing as Feral spec.

Средоточие Природы

Useless for Feral PvE, but potentially valuable for PvP.

Улучшенное исступление

If there were room for it in an optimized PvE build, this would be a helpful quality of life talent for Feral tanks, as it allows the tank to immediately generate 20 Rage prior to a pull when combined with Гнев. However, contrary to what outdated Feral guides typically recommend, Улучшенное исступление should not be taken in any Feral PvE build, even by main tanks! This is because taking this talent precludes you from picking up Улучшенное полосование due to a lack of available talent points, thereby preventing you from even being able to execute the cat DPS rotation when needed, and killing half of your viability as a hybrid spec in the process. Note that even without Улучшенное исступление, Гнев alone is sufficient to provide you with enough Rage to Трепка on demand by powershifting with 5/5 Свирепость, and you can always wear Волкоголовый шлем for even more on-demand Rage.

Leveling WoW Classic Druid Talent Builds

While useless for raiding, Кошачья скорость is arguably the best leveling talent in the entire Druid tree, so make sure to unlock your first point right at level 20 when you acquire Облик кошки. In Classic World of Warcraft, movement speed is easily the best leveling stat for any class, so being able to pick up a 15% boost at 20, and 30% at 21, is an incredible advantage for Druids.

On the flip side, the trifecta of Прирожденный оборотень, Улучшенное полосование, and Гнев, which forms the backbone of the cat DPS rotation in dungeons and raids, is far less useful when leveling. You will rarely powershift when leveling due to its mana inefficiency, and will remain in Облик кошки casting Когти as your primary spammable ability when attacking mobs from the front, shifting out only to heal up between pulls or to cast crowd control abilities. As a result, these three talents can be deprioritized in a leveling build until you get closer to the endgame.

Знамение ясности - While this is simply a nice-to-have DPS/TPS boost when raiding, it qualitatively changes your playstyle while leveling in the open world, allowing you to fish for Ясность мысли procs while killing mobs in Облик кошки, and then shifting out to spend the procs on expensive heals. Omen is sufficiently powerful for leveling that it is worth considering a re-spec from a deep Feral 0/26/0 build to a hybrid 14/12/0 build when you hit level 35 so that you can pick up both Кошачья скорость and Знамение ясности simultaneously.
