Demon Hunter... Are you guys kidding me?
The only person in Azeroth that can be a Demon Hunter is Illidan.. Its in his bloodline. he is the ONLY one left. Unless ofcourse he have 9 million babies hidden in a cave in Mount Hyjal... whatcha think people? Am i wrong or am i right?
I would like demon hunter.. but it would be totally #$%^ed up!
Illidan's not the last, he's the first... there are a lot more. ;)
There are three or four named elites training the (many) apprentice demon hunters in the Ruins of Karabor outside the Black Temple. There are more inside.
Altruis
gives a series of quests in Nagrand, and explains what he is in detail if you talk to him. And lets not forget
Leotheras
in Serpentshrine Cavern. If you want to go old school pre-TBC
Loramus
is on an island off the coast of Azshara with his pet felhounds.

Demon Hunters would be cool, and would fit in if the next expansion took place beyond Outland, in the inactive portals and the Twisting Nether. But, Demon Hunters are few in number and are usually elves. By the way, Illidan isn't really a demon hunter anymore, he consumed a cursed object and became more demon than night elf.

I think the Runemaster is definately more than just a possibility:
The new profession is called inscription, therefore a hero-class that attacks by inscribing his own rune magic is appealing.
However, the only drawback is the claim that they don't weild armor. I think they will end up with some for of equipment, even if you have to buy equipment as a spell from a trainer. The cost benefit of a no-armor class would be staggering: why would you do instances or raids? IT would be a pvp class.
I myself like the Runemaster idea too, Maybe some kind of melee cloth would be designed or perhaps a aura/buff/form/presence that would change armour/damage/health, etc. And implementing inscription would be cool too, but then that goes back to the old days when you had class related professions like the way tailoring was to warlocks and such.

In all seriousness, I vote monk, the class not the tv show; physical dps (melee), holy dps tree (either melee
or
ranged), and of course a healing tree.
And GreyScale needs to stop watching so much anime.

A new class I fully agree with, not necessarily a 'hero' class though. A few of my ideas:
Necromancer: Had interesting mechanics in Diablo 2, although some would say their talents are
very similar
exactly the same as 'locks.
Specs: Curses (de-buffs), Ranged DPS (Unholy Magic), Summoning.
Battle Mage: Similar mechanics to current mages and warriors. Highest armour class wearable would be mail.
Specs: Magic-Infused Combat (Enchanting weapons, short range spells), Protection (Yes, a tank spec :P Using magic as defence), Ranged DPS (Arcane Magics)
These are just two ideas. Original, no. Would I want them in-game? Yes.
I also like the idea of faction-only classes... again.

2 different Hero classes for 2 races, one each faction.
Tinkerer for Gnomes
The three trees would be something like:
-Short ranged attacks that use guns, the abilities would be something along the lines of elemental damage, Shooting things like lightiing and Fire (Flamethrower ability? yes please, channeled flame cone in front of you, and leaving flames on the ground. Doesn't affect allies (or maybe it could?))
- DW melee where you create your own weapon, kinda like a more indepth version of runeforging.
- Ability to make a robot/zord to control and use it's abilities, for a mix between melee and a few ranged abilities.
Shadow hunters for Trolls.
A more expanded version of the version in the game already.
-A few/different shaman-esque abilites (Chain heal/hexes)
-Able to use the different loa's to change things in battle, abilities all with a cooldown, but you switch between 2 or 3 in a battle depending on the circumstance, and rotate between them.
-Bow shadow abilities, that with curses/voodoo (possibly new thing like curses/magic/bleeds/diseases)
None of the other races get a class. Just trolls and gnomes. =O

I had an idea for a new hero class. Still not sure what to call it, but would work something like this:
a ranged DPS/Healer class
One tree focuses on physical ranged damage, esp. with thrown weapons
2nd tree focuses on using wands for magical damage-prob with an emphasis on Arcane
3rd tree is your heal spec, using Shadow- maybe with an ability that's the reverse of Vampiric Embrace: for X amount of healing done to this target, Y damage is done is a radius of say, 10 yds, evenly distributed among the enemies- so it could still be useful in boss fights.
What does everyone think?
