Can your cat prowl in combat?

I've got my cat to learn prowl (rank1) and I thought of it as a good combination when using it with feign death, since if you really die, your pet disappears. But I couldn't really get it to lose agro when I tried running away from mobs when using FD. Does anyone know if this is possible? thanks

Im afraid not. Prowl is an opener. The pet stalks up to its prey, and on first hit, loses prowl. Once the pet has aggro, it can't prowl again during the fight. Once the pet has aggro, you can always run away, your pet will unsummon, then just call it back.
