How to obtain Rune of Expose Weakness:

1. Travel to 52X 65Y in Badlands

2. Kill Stonevault Troggs & Dustbelcher Ogres until you drop Primitive Drawing and use it to obtain the Terror of the Desert Skies quest
Example:
Stonevault Bonesnapper
Dustbelcher Brute

3. Travel to 35X 10Y in Stranglethorn Vale

4. Speak to Hemet Nesingwary to turn in Terror of the Desert Skies and pick up Terror of the Desert Skies

5. Use the Empty Bait Cage to capture any critter
You can travel to 45X 19Y in Stranglethorn Vale and pick up Arbor Tarantula from a tree stump

6. With Trapped Critter travel to 25X 62Y in Badlands
Follow the path into the mountain until you encounter a Large Nest
Click on the Large Nest to use Trapped Critter and summon Gharrik
Kill Gharrik and loot Crimson Trophy Quill

7. Travel back to Stranglethorn Vale at 35X 10Y and speak to Hemet Nesingwary to finish Terror of the Desert Skies and receive the Rune of Expose Weakness that will provide you with Expose Weakness

For those who want to run to Badlands thinking there are plenty of critters in Loch Modan to pick up on the way through, you cannot take any critter that is not level one. So rams and sheep don't fit in your trap. There is however, a cute little squirrel just next to the Thelsamar flight point.

1. Head to Badlands and defeat Dustbelch Ogre until they drop a Primitive Drawing.
-This will allow you to pick up the quest Terror of the Desert Skies

2. Head to Hemet Nesingwary in Stranglethron Vale
-He has a camp North of the main road and South of the river in far North Strangelthron Vale.

3. Capture a critter using the Empty Bait Crate
-You can capture pretty much any critter from any zone.
-Do this before going back to Badlands, as critters are hard to find there.

4. Head back to Badlands and go the the Peaks / Plateaus in Southwest Badlands
-Northeast of Dustbelch Grotto, the nearest mountain structure on the map

5. Climb up between the two peaks and find Large Nest
-Right click nest to make Gharrik (40 non-elite) apear and attack you.

6. Defeat Gharrik and loot Crimsin Trophy Quill.

7. Return to Hemet Nesingwary in STV and give him the Crimson Trophy Quill.
-You will receive Rune of Expose Weakness

The instructions for pacing through the quests in the chain are correct in the given posts. For finding the nest, the easiest way I can describe it is to go to Apocryphan's Rest, stand about midway down the side of the skeleton and look South. There is a peak on the right and two peaks on the left. The nest is at 22.38, 67.72 between the two peaks on the left. The summoned bird is a nice looking bird (maroon and gray) with Screech Rank 2, though I didn't check to see it it's tamable.

Terror of the Desert Skies

Get a Crimson Trophy Quill from Gharrik in the Badlands. Then, return to Hemet Nesingwary in Stranglethorn Vale.

Description

This drawing reminds me of a story I'd heard on another expedition, not long ago. I was told of a great bird, Gharrik, who reigns over the Badlands as an apex predator. She was last spotted northeast of Camp Cagg. Perhaps her nest is somewhere nearby? You'll need live bait to draw her out. I'll lend you a cage to catch some. Small wildlife is scarce in the Badlands, so you'll need to find your bait elsewhere. A quill from Gharrik would make a fine prize. You'd certainly be the talk of the camp.
