Okay, I've really, truly quit now. I know I'd "quit" even before Cataclysm, but I still logged on from time-to-time, often enough to be able to keep up with my class mechanics. Now I've deleted the game from my computer (the folder had ballooned to 33GB!), and canceled my subscription.
Since I have no desire to play anymore, I also have no desire to research holy priests or update this guide. So I'm offering it up for takeover. It doesn't have to happen straight away, only when the next new patch rolls in (which is soon, I believe). You've got it all laid out on a plate for you, expertly formatted and proofread by both myself and pelf. All you have to do is update the skeleton with up-to-the-patch info. Easy.
Any takers? Patty? Karl?
One more thing, when you do take over the thread, you'll have to repost to be able to edit it (giving you an easy gold achievement, if you care for that sorta stuff). Remember when you are reposting, that rather than copy/paste what you see as it is displayed by Wowhead, you'll have to quote my posts and then copy/paste the code from there. That way you won't lose the formatting. :)

How awkward, I just realised it's 4.2 already, and no takers...

Okay, so I just read the 4.2.0 patch notes, and "updated" the guide appropriately... Right.

You should probably edit in the changes to crit though (200% instead of 150%), and that higher levels of haste are becoming more feasible. :P

Oh, good point about the crit. This is what happens when you don't keep up on things.

It still is stickied, it's in the list of helpful threads. There's a new guides feature now, so when I finally do get around to updating it for 4.2, I'll post it in there instead. Thanks for the compliment!

Can
Prayer of Mending
be cast twice? So if only two charges have been burned up on my initial cast and the cool down is up and ready to cast again should I wait to cast it on the tank or can two of these be bouncing around in the group. Tried to test it but it was difficult to track with my UI. Any suggestions on how to track this excellent heal?
If I recall correctly, casting a PoM will dispel whatever is left of one that was casted earlier. I'm sure there are some add-ons that can track your PoM charges, I think one of the more popular ones (when I was playing, anyway) was PoMTracker, or something like that.

Critical heals are 150% of the non-critical heal.
No longer true. Buffed to 200%.
Also the lis of pre raid gear you link to is out of date.

I tried vuhdo once. Confused the hell out of me. Went back to grid since it was so easy to set up.

The whole guide is out of date, and I'm not longer maintaining it.
Patty's guide
has superseded it; he has adapted any of the information from this that was still relevant.
EDIT: reported this thread for lock.
