Really curious how this'll turn out to be. Seems the whole project is still on a very early stage of development.
Can't wait for this to come out! Farming resillience gear, farming Tyr's hand for hours for a few gold, PvPing when it was actually fun, world PvP was still alive and lots of more stuff that have gone away in the newer expansions. For the release date I wouldn't hold my breath... I guess we might hear an estimate at next blizzcon if we're lucky. And apparently I've heard they won't have a battlegroup system (just like they didn't have it back in the days)I'm also sure this will be popular at the beginning, and then the ones that can't keep up with all the farming and constant playing will give up playing it, as for most people I know, they seem glad it comes out, but we're all grown up now and don't have the time to play as we once did. I hope that new WoW players will try it out just to see how it is compared to what WoW is now.
So basically, they don't know much, and what they do know they can't really share, and yet people feel obligated to ask all the questions anyway, knowing that the questions can't be answered...
To be honest. Not my favorite announcement, and this is coming from a dude who like played Late vanilla in his childhood growing up.I know Vanillas cool and woah nostaliga everyone should expirience it, but I would much like that they focus on making a better future for the game rather than going backwards with it.
vanilla!
Amazing to see respect between the Nostalrius team and Blizzard
Def gonna give these a try but not sure what to expect from them yet
I feel like a lot if not 80% of the WoW population would probably spend the entire BfA expansion in the vanilla/classic servers/realms.
While I don't expect there to be things like achievements on the classic servers, I DO hope that accomplishments on the classing servers will affect the main account achievements and transmogs. It would be nice to earn some of those now unavailable items and have them accessible of the same account.
Wow, Did they just have the general idea for Classic Servers coming into Blizzcon? They have 0 facts or anything to actually show or talk about.
As a wrath baby, I'm interested to see how vanilla was, regardless if things change slightly or not.
An interesting idea. I never played vanilla but will at least give Classic a go.
Over the years, Blizzard has fixed a lot of game-breaking cheats, and broken the functionality of many bots. Should these return as well? Floating characters (or corpses) spelling out gold-seller website url's, bots teleporting from mining/herbing node to the next, farming chests in dungeons by teleporting between them, speed hacking in BGs and so on. Are these also an essential part to experience Vanilla as it used to be?
What I'm betting is an HD classic, like current hardware playing classic wow, so it looks crisp like current wow does, but I do not want all of the nice aspects of current wow like mounts at level 20 or a modified talent system, those were apart of the core classic experience, so they should be kept. the only think I'm willing to agree with is like changed prices on things because the economy will be very different and to maybe add in some account wide systems so people can have an easier time experiencing more classes.
Just after Nostalrius team gave up, awesome timing, tbh!
Beyond simply having an official Vanilla again--which is fantastic--I'm really hoping for linked achieves and transmog and even items to live.If I get Quel'serrar on Vanilla, I want it to be able to put it in my bank on live.If I get Fiery Retributor on Vanilla, I want the skin available in my transmog on live.
Pretty excited about all of this ! Can't wait to see where it's going
