It sounds more like a Warcraft movie than a World of Warcraft movie.Just sayin'.
Can't wait. We require Ron Perlman at least as a cameo role as an orc.
I was worried that they wouldn't be able to say much about the movie during the panel. But I'm satisfied with what we learned. The movie has a neat concept, and 2015 can't come soon enough.
Forgive me for sounding ignorant, but It's Lothar and Orgrim ... Durotan never really figured much into it according to lore.Weakened by losses caused by Gul'dan's treachery, Doomhammer was forced to fall back from the human capital of Lordaeron to his fortress at Blackrock Spire. There he fought the final battle of the Second War against the Alliance of Lordaeron, leading a charge from Blackrock Spire to clash with Anduin Lothar and his paladin guard. Human and orc battled one another in a titanic conflict that left both warriors drained, but the Warchief was able to vanquish the Regent of Azeroth. Some believe that Doomhammer did not win fairly and that Lothar was killed after being ambushed by Horde warriors. Nevertheless, Lothar's death did not have the effect that Doomhammer intended. Rather than being demoralized, the Alliance - led by Lothar's lieutenant, Turalyon - rallied, whipped into a frenzy that shocked even the Warchief himself and all but destroyed Doomhammer's forces, chasing them back to the Dark Portal. Orgrim himself was defeated and captured by Turalyon, soon after Lothar's death.

"One thing, however, is clear: almost every staff member including the director is a huge WoW fan and it will remain true to the universe." I am not worried about movie now. Moreover, I know the director is young but very creative guy who will create something awesome. His earlier movies (no all, of course) were good, for example "Moon" or "Source Code". Can't wait for "Warcraft" movie :)
I hope they consider making it like Harry Potter and an environment we can come and visit and tour once all the filming is done. To actually stand 'in' the World of Warcraft would be amazing!
I know what my birthday present will be!
The artwork for some of the places were just jaw-dropping, like the Stormwind one. This is like a dream...I almost can't believe that we will soon™ have a WoW movie ^.^
I'm excited to hear that this is actually a project starting now after many years of talk! I really hope it will be as awesome as it sounds!
But who was dog?
So many positive things to read. The guys working on the movie is fans, the director wants an equal script etc. I think this is key to making a good movie based off of a game, that the people involved know and like the game. Look at all the movies based of video games-failures over the years, I bet few of those movies had a crew and director who actually was a fan of the game.
I loved watching the panel on the Warcraft Movie with my Virtual Ticket. Even though they couldn't reveal much, it was cool seeing the pictures of it. Thanks for being such an awesome site, WoWHead, it's so awesome having all the amazing Blizzard information all in the one place! :)
I hope it's not cheesy with slow-mo and corny one-liners. I unfortunately could see that happening.
