Classic server = boring.
Looks interesting if they keep everything as it was back then

Still too early to get some concrete information, I see. Personally, not amidst the die-hard "vanilla is the only true iteration" crowd, but I am into jumping in for the sake of some of the nostalgia, I admit. :)
I started playing in the WotLK. Vanilla will be an interesting experience. But it seems to me that the classic server is too hardcore in farm -_- Btw, do not try - do not know :)
Hope we can get on live the vanilla mount, that's all I want x)
HYPE
I trust the engineering team will be able to pull it off, quite a challenge indeed.
Was so stunned and amazed when saw it. I really hope they will make it as it was in beginning. Like true vanilla servers without collection system, with arrows for hunters, etc. Ad it would be so fun to have brand new economy, as basically the first trades in ah will be those that players will create. And all the struggles to get your first mount. Because that was the fun part in it, the loooong leveling, value of gold was way higher than now. About the who would access i guess it would just make sense that any active wow acc would have option to play latest patch or vanilla. For new players it would be enough to just buy the core game and pay sub to be ab;e play vanilla. At least this kind of option makes sense.
You know, I thought I was super excited about this. As I've been reminiscing with others all day about old times I'm starting to remember just how inconvenient almost every single thing was haha. I will definitely still play classic, I just think I should put down the rose-tinted glasses and not get too swept up in the hype. Looking forward to hearing more about it.
Having started during WotLK I'm really excited to try and see what the game was like when it was released.
I'm really excited for this to do beside the live servers & experience the Base of WoW. I was 4 at the time so couldn't play obviously but I'm in love with this game and want to experience as much as possible :D
I'm both excited/skeptical don't get me wrong it's sounds like a great idea on paper but I'm gonna wait to give my full views on the matter when they give more information when it's further in it's development.
I didn't play in vanilla, so I'm looking forward to poking around, but by all accounts vanilla was a primitive pain in the ass in a lot of ways. I can't see joining a guild on the Classic server. I wonder how much it's gonna cost, though.
The best part about Vanilla wasn't so much the gameplay, but it was the fact that it was all new and no one knew what was going on. You had almost nowhere to go for game info. Thottbot was nowhere near as in depth as WoWHead, so you had to play to learn, just like everyone else. Some of the quests were painfully confusing, but just wandering around was pretty cool. Until you clicked on 'Blood of Heroes', anyway.
Should UBRS be 10 or 5 man? Keep it 10 man, man! You gotta keep all of those things the same! Number of raids and raid sizes should all stay the same. Make small QoL changes; but, don't change the big stuff...and don't change how travelling worked. No free flying, flying in taxis only; and no mounts till 40 and 60. :)
Im so hyped for this, it's gonna be great.
Personally I see this going one of two ways. Either they make it really, really close to as it was and it dies within a year or they put it some quality of life stuff but keep the xp, dungeons, mounts, quests, raids, etc. the same and it'll last longer.I played back then. It was good for it's time but it would just be a PITA to play now knowing what we are missing.
As long as they're not wasting too many resources on this, i don't see why they wouldn't do it. I'll probably get a character to 60 but that's it, no raiding for sure. It's be more of a journey through time, but i don't wanna be stuck there again :P
People aren't going to like this as much as they think. It will be like 5 days and they will go back to Battle for Azeroth. Vanilla is viewed with Rose Colored Goggles :p I played it, it was fun then, but it won't be what they think they remember.
