GDKP Policy

In line with our policy enacted on Season of Discovery realms in NA and EU, we will not allow gold dragon kill point (GDKP) runs in Anniversary realms in the NA and EU regions.

Note: This policy will not be implemented in regions outside of NA and EU at this time, though we reserve the right to change this.

While we understand that there are some benefits for those who find this a convenient way to gain gear, we also recognize that there are concerns surrounding GDKP eroding traditional guild and social structures that are a part of the spirit of the game. Player feedback in Season of Discovery realms in NA and EU has largely been positive about this change, and it aligns with our internal findings.

We will continue to monitor feedback about this topic closely, and we may make adjustments to this policy in the future.

But now? The next earliest reasonable time for TBC prepatch to start would be after Midnight's been out and about for at least 1, ideally 2 months (and blizzard tends to space this out in 3-4 months usually, from what I've seen. They *never* stack big releases).

So... earliest TBC prepatch can come now is... late April. And that's extremely optimistic - a realistic timeframe would May prepatch, with a June release. this is going to be what holly did for everquest with TLP servers. progress from base - wotlk, then reset. this is just the "beta" test before that gets announced, probably at blizzcon next year.

In classic, I was barely able to get my blood elf to 56 and get the AD tabard just before the event ended and the dark portal opened. When WotLK's prepatch was longer, I had a lot of fun being able to tank Kara with my DK while kara was still current content.

However, if they decide to allow GDKPs or again sell boosts and have dungeons overran by people that got their characters boosted and don't know their classes, I would rather not renew my subscription and just quit the game for good.

The recipe to disaster would be like this :
* Boost character to 58 from shop - be clueless
* RMT some gold to get boosted from 58 to 70 - be clueless still
* RMT some gold at 70 to get some gear in GDKPS - still clueless but with few items
* Join PUGs and guild runs without knowing 10% of your class and ruin the game experience for everyone.
That would be the positive outcome, in reality many would just ruin the dungeon runs while leveling from 58 to 70 without boosts and while being under geared and clueless.

On paper it would be good for me as I'm a raid leader and would be able to run my own GDKPs with some gold already stashed, but in reality that would be horrible for the game and would make the game pointless outside of grinding arenas in PvP.Comment by MehvWrath Era please.Comment by FelPlanetTBC and Wrath Era both!Comment by MegabitxxDefintely keep the raid composition, dont add sated. But adding the token and maybe putting gdkps back in the game will def encourage people to play more.

We defintely need something to counteract the giga botting that goes with a mega server. So increasing spawn rates on open world resources or adding a vendor where we can use badges to buy satchels of herbs ore and leather ( like sod did). This will also keep heroics relevant for people gearing up alts or another way to farm gold. In anniversary now we have r14 warriors trying to HR orbs and Dark Runes or as much as 75g for a run. Thats super giga dumb. If you dont do that thats probably going to be the case in TBC where tanks will be selling there services (healers do it too).

I defintely want TBC era servers. Also Month pre-patch please

Change Terocane or Herbs in general, with layers and a small area it will be botted to hell.
Make the attuenments account-wide would be neat, not sure how that's possible.

Dual talents and LGF have been a neat feature and for sure a quality of life thing in terms of saving time and enjoyment.
So changes are welcome from my pov, as long as it's not "p2w" bs, like GDKP is.

I'd want a little more too, like SWP/VT dot tick crits, but just the Mindflay additions would be okay too. These tweaks are tame and fair. The titan-forged catchup/filler loot mechanic was cool in wrath classic. I want to arena and raid tbc raids again already. Shamans ARE very strong, especially Resto for melee groups, give us a release date for prepatch already...and make it 3 weeks? Naxx raiding doesnt appeal to my mage and I got R14 plus Nelth's Tear on them.
