Perhaps this will help with the faction imbalance I saw some complaining about the other day.
Doubt it will help. If you were on a server dominated by your faction, why would you leave? It is funny though that for all the "World PVP Is serious business and a core part of the game" people, most of them seem to want to be the dominant faction rather than strive for as close to 50-50 balance as possible so, you know, there's actually equal world PVP going on...
Why is not thalnos in that list, we need horde to leave
I started playing Classic around 3 weeks ago after an invitation from several old friends that I played with back during Vanilla. The reason I didn't start playing Classic during release was because I wanted to see how things were once populations were established. The last thing I wanted was to play on an over-populated and lopsided server. What none of those friends mentioned was that the server they were playing on was over-populated and lopsided, and would turn out to be the last place I personally wanted to play. I also did not expect Phase 2 to be released so early. The group I am playing with has had MC on farm for a long time now, and consists of many very helpful members who go out of their way to help each other out. Against my better judgement, this was what made me stay and try to make the best of it. However, I have only managed to get my Dwarf Warrior to level 50 before deciding to take a break from the server. The fact is, Herod is very over-crowded and the economy has been devastated by players exploiting layering. The Horde outnumber the Alliance badly and while I leveled up to 50 I can not recall having a single fair fight in all of that time. You either get ganked with low health while fighting mobs, bored level 60's camp you, or you get ganged up on by groups of Horde. That being said, for all of the times I did get ganked, there have been countless Horde that have left me alone. For every 1 Horde that will try and gank you, there are 10-15 Horde that are peaceful. This is all on a server with layers. I can't even fathom what it will be like when they remove layering and roll out the Honor system. I know what people are going to say, "PvP happened on a PvP server". It sure did. What happened is exactly what I signed up for when I rolled a toon on a PvP server. I don't have an issue with playing on a PvP server. I have an issue with overcrowding and faction imbalance. I can remember playing on a server when my faction vastly outnumbered the other faction and it too was not the preferred experience either.I should have stuck with my original plan and chose a server that was a better fit for me, but I wanted to play with my friends. As much as I would like to continue to play with my old buddies, I find no enjoyment playing on an over-crowded and lopsided PvP server. I'm in my 30's now and I no longer have the same desires that I did when I played on a PvP server all those years ago. I've rolled a new character on a balanced and less over-crowded PvE server to get my fix in the meantime. Hopefully the situation on Herod will lessen over time but I imagine it will get even more lopsided. I'm sure there are people who like the over-crowded servers though. Personally, I can't think of a worse experience to play Classic. When they remove layering and roll out phase 2 it's only going to be worse. It would be nice to continue with my Warrior on Herod but the current circumstances have made things undesirable. Anyways, that's been my experience with the overcrowding and faction imbalance.
