(NEW NERF) Mythic Mug'zee Nerfed Again! - Unannounced Liberation of Undermine Tuning with Patch 11.1.5

Posted 2025/04/23 at 7:00 PM by Squishei

ALLMug'Zee health reduced by 5% on all difficulties.

Blizzard

We recently noticed that there was an unintended data mismatch that caused a change to the Gallagio’s Goon’s health in Mythic difficulty. While correcting that to bring Goon’s health back to where it’s supposed to be, we went ahead and reduced Mug’Zee’s health.

With a hotfix that is now live on all realms:

Liberation of Undermine

Mug’Zee, Heads of Security
Health reduced by 5% on all difficulties.

In an announced change with Patch 11.1.5, the Gallagio Goons have been stealth nerfed with the release of the Patch.

Gallagio Goon nerfed by another 10% to 69.1M from 76.8M

This is a surely a very welcome change as the Goons were more easily dealt with by specific classes, notably Windwalker Monks, Mistweaver Monks,, Havoc Demon Hunters and Destruction Warlocks.

Many guilds are forced to reclear this week and rekill Mythic One-Armed Bandit and Mythic Mug'zee in order to claim their spot in the Hall of Fame after Blizzard announced that the kills are not retroactive. I'm sure these guilds appreciate a slight nerf to Mythic Mug'zee.

Can't wait to stop dps in the jail even earlier.

The HoF requirement was put in so guilds couldn't just buy a Gally lockout to get HoF. There was a story about this last week where a guild bought a Gally lockout for 84m gold.

Kinda wild how one armed bandit is now the hardest mythic boss in the raid.

Maybe balancing the game for the top 1% of players is actually a bad thing when you're still having to nerf fights halfway through the patch and beyond.

Comment by DreadfuryDK

Doesn't this make the boss even HARDER, though? You have to stop DPS on these.

Comment by Nyte1103

Ehh who cares. Most guilds are still stuck on Stix and prolly wont see past Sprocket until the next tier.

Out of touch devs with one of the worst mythic tiers ever created.

SNIP SNAP SNIP SNAP. You have no idea the physical toll these nerfs and buffs have on a person!

Comment by Benaji

can we all take a moment to admit this patch has been a dumpster fire? Can we get a week a free game time as we beta test for you instead of paying to play a finished product.

What a #$%^ show of a patch

I'm wondering if the initial nerf was intended, then someone realized it made it harder, so they reverted it, and applied an actually relevant nerf. At least I assume it's relevant, I haven't done Mug'zee yet.

Comment by Tefel

can anyone exchange everyone in the balance team? like today?

My guy, the people that mythic raid AT ALL are already the top 1% of players. You're literally saying it's bad to balance fights for the people the fights are intended for...

With these comments I am always curious, how recently the commenter got into WoW. Because this has been a thing for forever. The current raid on week 1 was always miles ahead of what it was towards the end of a season, either via direct nerfs, indirect nerfs like the current renown track or buffs you got from quests, or in a lot of cases both.

Funny thing with fights like these: If there are strict timers on some things, for example the big aoe soak that leaves a fairly long debuff, changing health like this can throw a lot of things for a loop. I already noticed that in heroic, when we at first changed phases in a way that had the jail groups still effected by the debuff, to the point of the debuff dropping off at the start of P2, to now again having the debuff active. And let me tell you, having that debuff active or not in P2 can make the prisons a whole lot more "interesting" when suddenly everybody in there gets bombarded for a lot more damage than intended.

Thanks for explaining that politely. I kinda checked out from high end non-delve content now, but I still am quite interested in the nitty-gritty of how things work.

Stict timer mechanics arent effected by boss health nerfs they still happen at the same time, I think you talking about boss health % based mechanics and mechanics the players make happen by boss movement or interactions, which is just a lack of skill on the players or raid leaders to adjust how boss fights go after changes.
