This is not what WoW Classic was supposed to be. It was supposed to be a nostalgia-trip, and it's now turning into an alternate game.
Blizzard is dividing the playerbase further and further when they should instead make efforts to find ways for the Classic players to come back to Retail, to find in Retail what they like about Classic.
Meanwhile, some Retail players like me see those mogs and will think "Dude, I would like to use these on my Retail characters!"

Retail is too far gone for me to enjoy. To go back to retail, I'd need the entire scaling system removed and the gearing system completely overhauled.

Tying gear quality to difficulty and having four difficulties puts a *massive* power difference between someone who raids Mythic each week and someone who casually pugs normal raids every so often, and then this gap is completely reset every few months so even if that more casual player does the occasional Mythic here and there or gets some nice loot out of M+ dungeons, it entirely will not matter that they did any of that once Blizz releases the next patch with freebie loot better than most of what that player worked for.

Player level is completely meaningless. Completely. There is no point to having a character level in retail. You get weaker as you level due to scaling, the only thing that matters is your gear relative to your level and that's it.

Blizz would have to do so much to retail to bring me back to it that it's easier for them to just release Classic again in new ways. I'll play that because it's a game I like.INSANEso
