I'd like all these people saying this isn't a big deal to show me another example of a seller breaking a product without warning. If I buy a coffee mug from Target, a Target employee should not come to my house 8 months later and break that coffee mug. Now if after 8 months I decide this coffee mug is too small for the amount of coffee I want to drink, then it's fine if I choose to go out and buy another, better (stronger) one. But having something you spend money on being taken from you without warning and without any stated reason is asinine and petty and sets up an incredibly bad precedent for the future. Here's another example. Apple has discontinued support for the iPod Touch. They don't sell them anymore, and they won't fix them anymore. But guess what? My iPod Touch still does the same function it did when I bought it. It plays music, it plays video. There's better quality iPods available now, but the item I paid money for still functions.
They did the exact same thing to the re-usable rune you could buy at the end of Warlords, so this is hardly a surprise.
Good to know that my decision not to waste gold on these was a solid one. Clearly we all need to never buy these things, especially at such a ridiculously inflated price.
an mmo tha prune all the time nearly every class/spec scrap and make items unusable its not worth the time and effort to play it. you play an mmo because you work on it and getting better collect items, mounts etc... this mentality put away people.. its like when you know in a few months there is another expansion you dont feel like do much raiding and dungeons cause there is no point anymore to work out for the soon to be changed gear.If i know that WoW nowdays in each expansion change completely my class, take away my skills, utilitys for no reason make all the time items unusalble then its all for nothing... Imagine that they delete the Auction House from the mount that cost 5 million when we are above 129 level...... It would be ok Blizzard-defenders? the thing that they didn't did (or they did) that before is not an excuse. A few years ago they wanted to disable the trandmoger from the mount... because they felt like it.. without any reason.. the outcry was so big that they didn't. They show each time how greedy they have become.. since that damn wow token they try to find ways to nerf gold income and make expencive &*!@ gold sinks... now they give a mount for 5 millions while the gold for missions from world quests are about 1000% down that previous expansion where the most expancive mount from merchant was 500k (and that 2 million spider)..... each and everytime they show how greedy they are and the only thing they want is to work less and gain more. (thats why so much less skills/spells and almost all the classes are mirrored.. so they have balance (the excuse) but in reality strangle alot less with balance. so instead of having better classes more immersing with alot more choises.. we are dictated that a warlock for example need to chose spec and instead of being strong on one aspect and weak on the other.. they decided to make an affliction to be unable to cast most lock spells..same for every class..
Gotta love Blizz making an unanounced, undocumented, stealth nerf like this late on a Friday. Apparently they viewed this as an urgent matter, otherwise they would have waited for the next holiday weekend.
There was no reason to make this change. All it does is piss off customers and make the devs look like jerks.
what was the change with the Tortollans?
absolutely one of the most frustrating and irritating change so far. thanks blizz...40k and exalted and tossed in the trash pile after a few days
Expected this. They did it with the WoD one too, as some others have said. It's a shame considering you can use all of the infinite flask items, but at least those can still be used (and tbf, they're also typically laughably inferior to flasks in general and have a long cooldown unlike infinite augment rune items).Edit: Now that I think about it, I'd rather have a hotfix that increases the infinite Augment Rune item cooldown by 1 minute per level above the level requirement or something.
As mentioned many times and intentionally ignored by Blizz white knights.WOD rune had 25% vendor value AND was always planned to not work in Legion from the get go.This has a 1/400th vendor value and was NEVER planned to be not available, just a sudden 180, for no reasonIn fact the vendor price was such a rare exception, because of the likelyhood it will eb always usable. The ONLY fair solution now is increasing vendor to 25% as with nearly all items in the game..
Hey Blizz, can I get a refund on my rune please? Or at least make it BOA... Maybe a toy?
*Laughs in Repurposed Fel Focuser*
blizzard, always working so we do not have fun.
so Ok its been nerfed and it cost us 40k gold, cant blizz at least make it so its account bound and then I could at least send it to lower alts while leveling and get some use out of it ...
I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I got months and months of use out of the rune when it was current content.
wtf thx blizz
