MMO champ has info up. There's <adjective> plate specialization, increases int by 5% when wearing all plate.

It's not all that unfair. A lot of classes only compete with their own class, or one or two others. Just depends on how bountiful they are in your raid.

Fair because then everyone has something to roll on that isn't useless for the group (and some of the items can be used by different members, who roll on the items if it drops).

You wouldn't believe how PISSED my groups got because we ran through and had holy plate dropping almost regularly. It got to the point where we replaced our healer with a Paladin. The result? He got raid geared in less than a week. And this was BEFORE TRIUMPH / FROST BADGES!

No need to have holy plate or any such crap like that dropping for the group where they can only disenchant, and everyone will have something to roll on if they want to.

BUT BLIZZARD DOESN'T IMPLEMENT ANYTHING LIKE THESE THREE SIMPLE SUGGESTIONS I JUST PUT IN THE THREAD.RNG is a btich.. no really it is, get over it.

There's nothing wrong with Holy Pallies wearing plate, and being the only spec where caster plate is good.

Is your QQ about Paladins not having competition except among themselves or about loot no one can need?

Another point: I'm pretty sure paladins are the most commonly played class. The fact that there's a subset of loot that only they can wear is not inherently a problem. It would mostly still be used, especially in the era of dual spec.

The problem here is that spell plate tends to be badly itemized for holy paladins. It's got nothing to do with there being a shortage of paladins (I should be so lucky. It's my favorite class and everyone thinks I'm a flavor of the expansion moron).

No. I don't pretend to know what's good for a paladin, but the issue isn't that it isn't good for them, it's that it's ONLY useful to them, period. The OP may not be expressing himself efficiently, but he has a very valid point. I like his idea, honestly, although perhaps instead of doing that, you could make holy paladin equipment useful to ret pallies as well, sort of like the talent for enhancement shamans that increases their AP by their int. It would take some tinkering, but I think it'd fix the issue.

So one spec of one class gets to use one type of gear.

I mean, if your a Druid, Shaman, or Priest healer why would you care? Your gear is just as good, sometimes better then plate healing gear. If healing plate drops, you get a abyssal shard. So its not a total waste if it drops.

And if your a pally you have no competition. Sorry but i like not having to roll over X number of classes with Y specs.

Only problem i see is when plate healing gear isnt as good as mail or leather or even some cloth pieces. To fix that problem all Blizzard has to do is: you know, make holy paladin gear good for holy paladins.

Blizz has already stated that they don't like that there's an entire itemization devoted to a single niche class/spec combo, but there's not really an alternative.

Holy Paladins wear plate for aesthetic and class variation purposes. Just shuffling them to wear mail not only ruins that aesthetic purpose, but it creates additional competition for resto/ele shamans. It also forces Blizzard to adapt the philosophy for ele/resto shaman gear to also fit within Holy paladin's philosophy, more-or-less making Holy Paladins = Resto Shamans with different spells.

Really, get over it. Blizzard won't make Holy Paladins wear mail just to make things "fair" with other classes.
