Yes, this quest has crappy drop rates, but the next quest it leads to has fantastic drop rates so it is in fact worth it.

As for the scorpid stingers I had the most success killing the level54 Stonelash Scorpid's (Killed 18, got 6 stingers). The lvl55's had a far worse droprate for me (Killed 17, got 2 stingers)

Quite an easy quest, although as stated above, the mobs doesn't exactly have great drop rate. The quest, however, is a great grind but both mobs will CONSTANTLY poison you making it hard if your class uses stealth.

May be a fluke, but im having a very nice drop rate, at least of the spiders, at and around (70,38).
Figured anything would help, this quest is horrible. But good grind xp.

I found the spiders and scorpions plentiful at around 37,21 between the Crystal Vale and Hive Ashi. Hope it helps =]

The best drop rate is around 62,25 to 62,27.
I complete the quest during 60min.
I think better place for it doesnt exist.

Well, instead of going like sheeps where you are supossed to go... try getting around 70,41 and enjoy a spawn close to 100% drop, at least by spiders.

I dont think there's realy a differnce in killing them in different places, the drop rate seems the same...

They dropped 100% at 70,40 ish.
I first tried around the hold but w/ no drops.

I tried many places, but found a fair droprate - maybe 25% on lvl 55 spiders around 70.40 +/- ofc.
And i got quite a few green items and spidersilk etc... worth good XP and money. And a good chance to kill Dredge Strikers from another quest.

I killed a ton of scorpids and found zero stingers. But at 53,23 the drop rate seems to be about 50%

Drop rate seemed pretty good to me...no complaints here. And you can kill the elementals to the north and get rep and good loot. no point in skipping this easy one:)

ok, i was doing this quest for like 2-3 hours. well, i decided to go across the road, and see if those scorpids and spiders had better drops, well they did! so when your are at Cenarion Hold, go to the east path. and when you are walking down that path, DO NOT go north, go south! i found they had better drop rates. i needed 4 fangs, and 4 stingers, and i killed 4 scorpids, and 4 spiders, and got em all!

its a good grind..and make sure your killing the right scorpions..the yellow ones are the wrong ones..the blue ones are the right ones

How about a cosmos coord for these guys that drop? I always come here to look for that, and yet there are those that think those coords are not that important.

Dont know but i have good drop rate. Every 2-3 of them drop me one. it took me 1 hour and i did another 2 quests with this one so its good

1. I'm finding them around 63,21
2. It doesn't matter if you get poisoned or not. I've not had them drop when the were not successful poisoning me, I've had them drop when I have been poisoned.

The drop rate on these items isn't the greatest, but these guys are easily soloable by anyone tough enough to be in Silithus. Easiest place to do it is just West of Cenarion Hold outside of the Twilight camp. Plenty of spiders and scorpions around, plus some of the sandworms you need for a different quest.

I noticed if you don't let them sting you the drop rate is pretty high... like almost every one.

Yeah the drop rate is awful :( i killed more than 20 and have just 2 Sand Skitter Fang.

I agree, completed this quest with my war and now pala, if you cure yourself before you kill the mob, drop rate is also very high.

56 BM Hunter, took tons of kills to get them down. Tried not getting stung by training them, no difference in drop rate at all.

Omg, this quest must be bugged! I can't get a single drop! I've been killing the spiders and the scorpids for a while now, but no drop.. Have this happened to anyone else? =S

Dont you hate it when people dont give co-ords?

I found both scorpions and spiders just heading west from Cenarion Hold. There wasn't an exact place they were thickest, so try there just search around. Also, you can also take care of the "Securing the Supply Lines" quest there, by killing the numerous Dredge Strikers.

Lvl 54 scorpids have better drop. However it took me alsmost 2 hours to complete the Quest :(

If you're here because of a leveling guide such as the one on legacy-wow and it's telling you to pick up this quest along with many others: these quests appear to not be in phase 1 of Classic.

Dont forget if you have a Stonelash Scorpid Stinger or Sand Skitterer Fang in you bank it will count toward the quest, no more will drop and you will be running round for 90 minutes swearing at Blizzard at the low drop rate, dont ask me how i know ! DOH! lol

Another atrocious drop rate on these scorpid stingers. I drummed up 5 and then haven't seen another one in 20+ kills. It's painful.

Beetix Ficklespragg at your service! My cousin Noggle makes a living gathering rare herbs for Cenarion Hold alchemists. Or used to, anyway. He came back from his last trip with a strong poison running though his veins.

I've managed to slow down the venom, but to fully neutralize it I need poison samples from whatever stung him.

Noggle arrived from the north, so I'd bet my shirt stonelash scorpids or sand skitterers did it. Bring me some stingers and fangs and I'll try to make an antidote for him.
