The residue only drops from mobs in BRD, but if nobody else in your group is running for Thorium B rep, then you can amass a large amount of this stuff in no time at all.

On Black Dragonflight server it sells in AH for a little over 1s per residue.

....yes saving 10 stacks is a pain in the arse, especially if you are tight on bank space.

It says its available to both sides up top there...

so turning in 960 of the residues gets you revered? or what... cuz i believe i need revered in order to get the enchant formulas....

im confused...

because you can still get the residue as a drop whether you have the quest or not...

I have almost 200 residue in bank, still neutral with thorium brotherhood though, not sure if it is worth working my rep up to friendly just to turn them in... can't sell them either... delete them?

It has been well established that at level 60, each repeatable quest (this one included) gives you 25 reputation points. How about character below level 60? Has anyone completed any of these repeatable quests below level 60, and has the reputation reward been greater than 25 points?

(Currently 55, wondering if I should hold off getting 60 if I can get much more rep per turn-in at this level)

Wow turning in the dark iron residue is very tedious...is there a way to do it bulk? :( ive been sitting here click click clicking on him for ages, and still have ages to go...

Also, now i am friendly, where do i get the plans and stuff as reward?

This quest is only available at friendly with the Thorium Brotherhood. Additionally, you must have completed the What the Flux quest before you can do this one. Once you reach honored it is no longer available.

The quest gives 25 reputation points to a level 60 character; 27.5 reputation points if that character is human.

I have 200 of this stuff and have no idea where to turn it in, you don't get to turn this in after what the flux.

Uuuugh! This quest took ages to turn in because you can only turn the residue in 4 at a time, I think this took about 15 minutes for me even if it seemed like an hour. You need about 1,000 of the dark iron residue maybe a little more. Good luck!

I turned in Dark Iron Residue to Master Smith Burninate, he accepted it but no change in reputation.
