The Celebrian Rod is found in the orange side of Mara and drops from Noxxian, a poison elemental 48 elite. The Celebrian Diamond drops from Lord Vyletongue in the purple side of Mara. Noxxion can hit fairly hard and spawns little adds during the fight. Vyletongue has two hidden demons that join the fight once it begins. When you've received both items, you need to defeat Celebras who is closer to the end of the purple side (near where you zone i if you have the scepter already). He spawns many adds but once you defeat him, speak to his ghost to complete the quest.

One of the best way I know of to get groups to run with you through Mara is by stating you have the scepter in the LFG channel!

Sadly if you have entered the instance via the portal created by the scepter and your party wipes. You will have to ressurect at one of the orange or purple portals and come back to use the scepter.

she's located in the outer network of caves leading to maraudon. Head down, when you reach the split of orange and purple crystals, she's located in the orange cave area in a pool of water. The water shows up on the map. The orange pool of water is deeper in that's required for another maraudon quest.

The NPC that gives you this quest, Cavindra, is located inside the fortress/cave that leads into the Maraudon instance. Look for orange crystals and continue heading down that path. She is a satyr NPC that will be standing on the left side of the hall.

This quest can be quite hard if your group is sub lvl47.
Reasonably hard 47-50 also, but doable without to much hardships.

Celebrian Diamond:

Lord Vyletongue, purple passage drops this. Straight forward encounter vs hunter:ish mob with stun/snare attack and ranged "crossbow".
Will come with two stealther mob adds.
Infront of lord vyletongue, there are two stealthermobs that can be pulled separetly or both.
they are at the ][ narrow part infront of the vyletongue. GTAOE attack pulling is a excellent way. This mob can be farmed for an excellent cloth belt and a bunch of great daggers etc.

Celebrian Rod:

Dropped by Noxxion in orange part.
Be advised, several guides on the web suggest reaching noxxion the purple way..
that is ill advise.
There is a passage where you will with 100% certainty get a double lasher and smaller lasher version pull. (ramp up).. hard even for a lvl50 grp with 2 mages. 80 yard(?)ae stun or smt..
Go to noxxion the orange way, take on slugs by one man taking aggro from all and kiting them while mages/warlocks/priests assist kills one at a time. no tanks should go head on with these.
When in room with the larva spewer, time when big larva has passed and gone away. then clear room of small larva. the tank if any can while mages/warlocks take car of the none elite larvas by AOE, rightclick the spewer to destroy it.
Clear a passage in large chamber to Noxxion through the non elites, be aware of teamembers HP after killing the small larvas. stacking poison attacks.
NOTE! killing noxxion will at current time of patch 1.2.3 2005-03-15, most likely crash your entire groups, game client.
if you are lucky one makes it and can reinvite and you can loot the rod.
The noxxion encounter, pretty straight forward really priests spread out real good, a X pattern is good, tank takes on noxxion pulls it in inside X. casters singel target nuke with fire/arcane/frost/shadow. a good idea if a mage is withing pbae range of noxxion. when noxxion dissapear mage starts to pbae down the none elite shards, while the other mage come in and help pbae or warlock ae.
when non elites are dead or a certain time has passed noxxion will repop. go back to singel targeting. or you will run out of mana.

Bringing diamond and rod to celebras.

You can push on and go through razorlash, a warriormob with dualwield fasthitting attacks.
keep the priests on their toes.
Avod going all the way down ramp in center room at waterfalls, masspull warning as mentioned in the beginning.
jump down on solo lasher, or the 3 snare flowers.

at Celebras ONE! kill him easy encounter with non elite adds. group member start the encounter, if more click it can help bug the encouter up. follow celebras to the stone. one at a time click the book he lays onfront of it.
If he buggs and keeps going back to stone. when some1 have clicked etc. wait 5+ minutes, and he will timeout and the quest will be "completeable".

If you have Atlas you can clearly see Celebras is number 7 on the list of important things INSIDE the instance. The person on the orange side of Mara is Cavindra.

Any hints on killing Noxxion? Been in three times with 5-man 46+ groups and can't seem to beat him. I am a lvl 48 priestess and I always seem to run out of mana because he hits so hard. What works against this guy?

Lengthly quest as the Diamond is found on the purple side, and the rod is found on the orange side.

Secret to killing Noxxion is to have a powerful tank who can aggro him, while everyone else in your party concentrates only on attacking Noxxion...not the 5 NPCs who surround him. Once you kill Noxxion, you can pick apart the remaining NPCs.

As a rogue, once our Pally tank aggro'ed Noxxion, I stealthed behind him, hit him with Ambush, then Backstab multiple times, in addition to my dagger and fist weapon being coated with poison. Didn't take too many hits to put him down, since Ambush hit for 300+, and the Backstabs for 200-400 depending. The Pally was grinding him from the front, and others were using ranged weapons, spells, etc.

I did have to quickly assist with taking out the remaining NPCs as the Pally was really taking a beating. He was a L56, but everyone else in the party was L46-49.

Does this and Vyltongue Corruption give any factional rewards? Like with the Cenarion Circle?

You get the Scepter of Celebras from Noxxian in the Orange instant,and the Celebrian Diamond from Lord Vyletongue in the Purple.... Find Celebras and kill him, talk to his ghost with these 2 items and done.

Just a little extra detail:

Once you speak with celebras with the rod and the diamond he joins them together and you receive the Staff of Celebras. This tasty little artifact lets you portal to the Earth Song Falls within the instance from a portal site near the first Kahn.
Saves on leather for yer boots :D

It was once possible to pull the pre-spawned treants without pulling Celebras, but now they are aggro-linked.

I pulled just those pre-spawned treents a few days ago without aggroing Celebras. It doesn't make much of a difference anyway, he was easy and so were they.

Some friends of mine are trying to do this quest and they dont know what it means as "try to find a way to speak to the brother", how do you speak to him?

I've tried soloing Celebras, but it doesn't seem possible right now (60 druid in mostly wildheart). Just hard to knock him down or interrupt him enough before the summoning takes over. Even was able to wear him down to 0 mana before the pull and he still summons. Need a group with some stun/interrupt/fast dps ability.

We found Celebras behind lord Vyletounge, after jumping down a waterfall (but before the earthsong falls; it may also be possible to access this area through the orange crystals.) He spawns as a corrupted keeper, Celebras the Cursed. Kill him, and his ghost, Celebras the Redeemed, will spawn. The ghost will talk to those who do not have this quest, giving some backround on himself and Zaetar.

Celebras the Cursed spawns in the middle of 3-4 nonelite corrupted treants, and will summon more during the fight. It was once possible to pull the pre-spawned treants without pulling Celebras, but now they are aggro-linked.

Quest completion not possible as of patch 1.14.4.51056 (Classic Era) as Celebras the Redeemed no longer spawns once Celebras the Cursed has been defeated.

Edit: I cannot confirm whether it's consistent or not, but I was able to spawn Celebras the Redeemed after realm restart and turn in the quest.

A dark satyr called Lord Vyletongue spread his evil through these twisting caves, poisoning the minds of all inside. He still resides beyond the purple crystals.

Vyletongue also created a living symbol of his corruption called Noxxion that dwells beyond the orange crystals. Together, they have stolen the two parts of my brother's scepter. Celebras, my brother... he wanders blindly inside, cursed by corruption.

You must help him! Find the pieces, and speak to my brother... somehow.
