The easiest way to round up the kodos are in the graveyard near by. A faster way is when a kodo pack comes, get them and return to Smeed fast so you can get the other kodos.

All your party members can pick up a kodo and turn them all in at the same time for credit. Credit stacks.

You have to tame 1, take it over to the goblin guy. He'll /say something about needing to inspect it first, right click on the kodo like you're trying to talk to it. It'll then count as having delivered a kodo. Repeat 4 more times.

I don't know why so many are having trouble with this one. Maybe my friend and I were just lucky?

Get the quest, run over to the graveyard. Select a Kodo. Right-click the gizmo to tame him. Run back to Scrabblescrew. Once you get close enough to him with the Kodo, he will demand you inspect it. Walk back over to the Kodo (cause he'll be too far away otherwise), and right-click to 'inspect' it. A quest window opens with only a goodbye option. I then have 'credit' for turning it in, and it disappears after a few seconds. Rinse/Repeat. After getting credit for all 5, you get the normal yellow ? above Scrabblescrew where you'll turn the gizmo back in, and receive the quest reward.

I don't know when they fixed it (or if it was even bugged) but I can confirm I just did this quest on the Skullcrusher server.

You bring one kodo at a time to him. When in range he will say:

Smeed Scrabblescrew says: That kodo sure is a beauty. Wait a minute, where are my bifocals? Perhaps you should inspect the beast for me.

Move near the kodo, and right click it to inspect it. It will then count it as tamed, and display it on the screen.

Rinse, repeat.

I'd had problems with this quest before, but yesterday I did just what Renwithe said and the quest worked. Guess Blizzard fixed it with the new patch.

Ok. It works. I just did it. Here is the problem: YOU MUST INSPECT THE KODO!

If you don't inspect the kodo, he will disappear and each subsequent kodo you drag over will just disappear. (without giving you a chance to inspect)

It isn't "broken". Just abandon the quest and get it again. Then make sure you "inspect" the kodo (right click on it when you bring it back).

If you are having problems. . . just reset the quest. Works like a champ.

This quest does work, just right click the kodo when you bring it close to the NPC. It should work perfectly fine.

Worked for me too. Case you dont know where the graveyard is: /tloc 54,62. Bring back to /tloc 62,62 .

Okay I found that this is the easiest way to do this quest:
1. get the thing for the quest then head just south of scrabblescrews camp until you reach the kodo graveyard
2. find a kodo on the outer edge of the graveyard because there are level 37 birds fying around in the middle.
3. target a kodo, stand next to it and right click the kodo combobulator scrabblescrew gives you, after about 2.5 seconds the kodo will be tamed and follow you.
4. run back to Scrabblescrew's camp and he will say something about inspecting the kodo, right click on the kodo once and then click goodbye in the chat window. after this you will have tamed 1 kodo.
5. repeat steps 3 and 4, 4 more times and get your reward, remember you can only tame one kodo at a time. good hunting!

I did this with my lvl 37 Orc Shaman on Terenas.

I thought is was bugged and it actually is, in some way.

This has nothing to do with having a bad connection (red latency), having same (as kombobulator) iconed items (like Goblin Transponder for teleportation to Gnomeregan) in the inventory, clicking, selecting, shapeshifting or witchcraft. ;) Forget it.

I tamed, brought and inspected 6-7 Kodos, but they won't credit.

When I did it I was in a group with no one from it online or nearby me, but in desperation I tried to disband it.

You won't believe it, but it actually helped. Dunno if it'll help you, but... Goblin guy started to credit the Kodos that I brought.

You can find info on how/where to inspect/tame Kodos in the comments nearby so I won't write this all over again.

Easy. 2000 XP + an item to wear or sell to a vendor.

after leading the kodos to the camp, u have to "talk" to the kodo, then u gain credit.

Soloed as a lvl 38 Lock. This quest was incredibally easy. Once you talk to Scrabblescrew you only have to walk a short distance to the Kodo Graveyard to quickly tame five kodos. Once you have tamed one you lead the kodo the short distance back to Scrabblescrew, who will then ask you to inspect the kodo for him. To inspect the kodo, all you have to do is talk to it, but make sure you do, other wise the tame will not count.

I found it wasn't working for me, simply beacuse i was in a raid group, either complete it solo, or in a normal group, quest is NOT bugged :)

Okay I was having a real hard time finding these Kudo in the grave yard, all I was finding were Elder Kudo and the wand will not work on them, only on dying and aging Kudo. Sounds easy enough but first you have to find the Aging and dying ones, and I found a whole corner of them at mntloc 55,61 hope this helps I was about to give up until I saw a herd of Aged and Dying Kudo cross the road into the eastern corner of the graveyard and there I found plenty of them to finish this quest.

Not to be redundant, but the patch notes from 12/21 say this quest is fixed but it still does not work. Reported this again and they said they are aware it is still an issue.

What exactly was the bug and are you sure it's fixed? I'm trying the quest now and when I bring him a tamed Kodo nothing happens. He just asks where his 5 tamed Kodo's are.

omg, this is the easiest quest I've ever done. Level 35 Troll Hunter. Didn't get attacked by any of the crocks either.

Hi, i have a problem that this quest doesnt work... i use the "magic stick" on the codo but noething happends. just a symbol appears abow the kodo and that's all.

Can anyone confirm that the quest works when he is inside the hut? Say after a server maintance or a reset?

This quest works absolutely fine! Just get a kodo to follow you then walk up to him. He will ask you to inspect the kodo yourself. Walk close up to the kodo and right-click it, a dialog box will pop up saying something witty and when that closes the kodo will despawn and your counter will go up one.

Finished this quest at lvl 30 in about 2 mins, no trouble whatsoever, except that you have to stand VERY close to the kodo to be able to inspect it.

Led the kodo to Smeed, he made some remark, asking me to inspect the kodo. Go up to the kodo, you get the interation icon, interact, and get credit for the kodo. Do 4 more times, then Smeed gets the "question mark" and you click on him again to finish quest. Got 2k xp at lvl 38 and chose the Kodo Rustler Boots as my reward over the other item (not warlock useable).

Boots were: 35 ac, +3 sta, +8 int, +5 spirit, and 35 durability.

When you bring the Kodo fully back to camp Scrabblescrew will say something to the effect of "inspect it for me." Right-click the Kodo and it will officially count towards your total, and you'll be free to bring over a new one.

Quest works fine now.

It's definitely worth doing, it's pretty much 2000XP for free. No effort on your part, just walk back and forth from the Graveyard.

I chose the Spaulders, not usable by me, but they had a higher merchant Sell Price. (My boots were already better than the ones from this quest.)

I had problems with this also when a friend shared the quest. Basically I did it twice. 1st time for nothing, he never had a grey ? above his head always gold!. After "finishing" it, I talked to him again and the quest worked beautifully.

i did this quest on June 30... There is a pack of roaming kodos that pass right by Scrabblescrew, makes life easier. the rest I got at Kodo graveyard

After you have tamed each Kodo you need to lead it 2 Smeed and once he has seen it inspect it for him (click on the Kodo), you will then see it added onto your total i.e. 1/5 and you can go and collect your next one.

You can pull a kodo with you while escorting a converted kodo and then after turning in the converted codo you can convert the one you pulled.

For my second Kodo, I had an error from the Kombobulator saying 'Not ready yet'. I ended up taking all my armor off and then it worked.

On a PvP server you can steal the Kodo's from the opposite faction before they turn them in.

Simply kill them and use the rod on the Kodo yourself.

Worth pointing out that any Kodo in the zone is viable for kombobulation, not just the ones in the graveyard way over yonder. You may get lucky and have a pack of Kodos wander right next to Scrabblescrew's camp for quick and easy taming.

You can run as fast as you want and the kodo will eventually catch up to you even if it goes out of sight range - tested on 209% mount half way in the kodo graveyard running full speed towards the goblin.

This is simple and easy.
1. goto the Kodo Graveyard
2. select a Kodo
3. click on the Kodo Kombobulator in your bag
4. when tamed, run (or ride) back to Smeed. Don't worry about distance, the Kodo will find you. This is still the case in Retail with flying.
5. wait for the Kodo to arrive and Smeed to ask you to inspect.
6. move to the Kodo and right click on it. You can right click as you run through it on the way to the next Kodo, or pause and enjoy the Kodo's comments.
7. repeat another 4 times

Also, if you're lucky, there's a group of 4 Aged or Dying Kodos wandering past at the time you're doing the quest, saving you the run to the Graveyard.

This is one of the rare instances where the player character expresses their thoughts. When inspecting the kodo, you'll say:

"This kodo sure looks nothing like the beast I originally lured! I wonder if the kombobulator can be used on me."

"Why is it that small creatures such as goblins are always fascinated with larger creatures?"

"How do the goblins ever manage to secure packs to these beasts? Kodos are ten times the size!"

Bibbly thinks he is the only goblin in Desolace who knows how to make money. Well, the only caravan brave enough to travel these parts relies on me. Ever since I learned how to rejuvenate and control aged and dying kodos with my kodo kombobulator, the caravan owner Cork, Rigger, and I entered a partnership.

Take the kombobulator and use it on any ancient, aged, or dying kodos; it will jolt the beast into a tamed kodo and force it to follow you. Once you have a kodo tamed, bring it back to me.
