I collected the radio active ingredients and have a full vial. But I can't talk to the dam gnome to collect.

It is true. Ozzie is bugged. I had some trouble completing the first part of this quest. I contacted Blizzard and they said that they were aware of Ozzie's buginess and that they were looking into the issues. The next time I logged into game (a day or so later) i was able to finish the quest. So...(as annoying as it may be) maybe all we can do at this time is just check in with Ozzie and hope for the best. Gonna attempt to finish "more green...." tonight. Hope Ozzie is cooperative. be well folks

Having the same issues with him not being actionable, but there are no animations playing (I noticed this animation issue when I first encountered him months ago).

Another player even walked in and turned in the quest two or three before this in the chain, triggered the animation and he was still not responding to me. 2hrs left on the rads, gonna log and see what happens

I cant fill the flask. From where or from what do i have to fill the flask? I tried hall of gears several times and i tried the slime and the irritiated horrors, to no success. Please need help with this.

Fill the phial at one of the green slimes, you have to do it while it is still alive, not dead. Oh, and I too am having the issue where he will not allow me to return the 2nd part of the quest.

Okay - I had the same problem, where Ozzie didn't let me turn in the quest. I had given up (after trying the logout-login thing, which didn't work), and was heading back to IF - when I decided to abandon the quest and go back to see if I could pick it back up from him, since I still had the 2 items.
When I came back to the hut, he wasn't even there. I waited for about a minute... and he reappeared with the yellow question mark.
I picked up the quest and turned it right in to him with no problem.
I assume it's an animation problem, where he maybe doesn't reset correctly after someone turns it in. Glad it worked though...

how the heck do i catch the stuff, keeps saying "out of range and im standing right on top of the thing, i tried both alive before battle, during battle, and when it says "(radiation cloud)" but nothing worked. how do i catch the stuff?

ok you gotta get close and all and when you do you have to equip it. i had the same problem and i figured i had to equip it and did it. i have the same problem as everyone else.

Big problem with asking GM for help is that the high potency radioactive fallout you collect only lasts for two hours. If GM doesn't fix it by then and the stuff is no longer in your inventory, you are told that there's nothing they can do. You just have to go back in and re-collect the stuff.

Big pain! Since the reward is pretty low (for a low 30s level character), I'm thinking it's not really worth the time.

Wish I had thought to log out, but when you ask a GM for help, logging out voids it.

Well I thought I could take matters in my own hands. I logged in as my level 60 Horde warrior, traveled all the way there, hoping I could kill him, thus doing a "manual" reset. Well first of all, he's tagged as "civilian" (so you would get dishonor for killing him), and second he can't even be attacked (no sword icon on hover).

So don't waste time having a Horde character travel all the way there to kill him - no worky.

I'm going to check back the next day, immediately after the daily morning server reboot.

I think they might have fixed the NPC recently.

A few points:

-I think you have to get the stuff from a living creature.

-Once you collect the radioactive fallout, I think it disappears after a certain time. It mysteriously disappeared from my inventory, so it makes sense.

To finish this quest, you need to get back BEFORE The radio active ingredient dissappears out of your inventoy - it's got a two hour time limit from the point you collect it.

for me in 1.9.3. There wasn't anything after this quest's turn in, but I did get the 2450xp and 25 silver just fine. No reputation gain though...

I just did the quest today and all seems well. It kept saying out of range when I tried on an irradiated horror (elemental), but it worked fine on an irradiated slime.

You have to fill the vial from a irridated horror while you're real close to it, most likely get a high level to pull it and tank until you get it filled.

Just solo'd with lvl 30 paladin. Jumped into center of large bolt from walkway just outside of entrance to clockwerk run. Healed, waited for slime to slither away, ran to horror, filled vial, divine protection, and stoned back to IF. Only had to kill the few elites up on top of walkway on the way in, and they where easy to iso.

For those who didn't noticed, the Hall of Gears is a number 1 room in Atlas mod (Viscous Fallout), just right after A entrance (front) not the back one. I''ve stealth all way (level 30 rogue), jumped down, vanished and wait for refulling my hp and then I've soloed irridiated slime (gouge+first aid and used one healing potion). Then hs, so it's soloable for level30 rogue. I've filled up the bottle when slime was gouged.

Ahh, yes, and for me there was no bug (patch 1.12) you just must did https://www.wowhead.com/classic/quest=2926/gnogaine before.

If you're having trouble collecting the fallout, make sure you have an empty spot in your inventory. That one confused me for a while and then made me feel dumb.
Also, it's got a shelf life of 2 hours, so turn it in as soon as you get out.

make sure u use the vial on living mobs, many reports have come in on people trying to use them on dead ones

Just filed a bug report on the official forums - when I picked the quest up again recently, I honestly thought when I saw the gray "?" over Ozzie's head that the bug had been fixed.

I just completed this quest today, seems to be working after 1.7

Spoke with a GM about this quest and apparently what happens is that the NPC (Ozzie Togglevolt) gets reset each server maintenance but that he then "freezes" after an unknown time.

The GM suggested trying the quest just after the weekly maintenance, you're more likely to find him working then.

I tried LOADS of troggs to no avail. Went to the area with Fallout, and got it from one of the mobs there first time. Not a slime, the elemental types.

Have done this with many characters, and my latest one can't turn it in. It's May now, how long does it take to fix this bug? >_<

This entire quest line has issues. I.e. Gnogaine and now this one.

I suspect folks may be left waiting a mighty long time if they want it to be sorted out on the dev side. I haven't completed this one but I did have a similar issue with Gnogaine last night (7.6.2005). I put in a ticket with a GM and waited a bit. A GM contacted me and marched me back to Ozzie and then reset the two NPCs in there. This allowed me to complete it. I suspect I'll run into a similar issue here and I intend to do the same thing. Bloody gnomes.

Has anyone figured out how to get the High Potency Radioactive Fallout? I've tried right and left clicking both living and dead slimes, lurkers and horrors with the Phial to no avail. I've killed a ton of them just hoping the fallout would drop off of one of them, but no luck there either. Help!

I have done it a few days ago...
It is important to ensure that you really fill the vial. In my case several attempts were necessary. After that I tried to get back asap. At least within 1h it worked.

I encourage all of you to go for this quest!

Right click the Phial while you are fighting a Trogg with the green smog around him/her. Best if yor in a group so you dont get Interuppted

The joke is from one of the greatest skits in Saturday Night Live history, Christopher Walken playing the record producer for '70's gray-beard metal band Blue Oyster Cult, as they are recording the song, "Don't Fear The Reaper". Will Ferrell plays the member of the band whose sole purpose is to hit the cowbell, in 4/4 time. He starts playing quietly while every fifteen seconds or so, Walken charges into the studio and states how there needs to be EVEN MORE cowbell, eventually stating the funniest thing I, personally, have ever heard on television: "I've...I've got a... a fever, a fever for cowbell, and the only, the only cure... Easily one of the funniest skits in the show's history, Ferrell eventually banging on the cowbell so hard he drowns out the rest of the band, FYI, "Don't Fear The Reaper" is considered one of the finest examples of what NOT to do when recording a song, as the cowbell drowns out the guitar, singer and even the DRUMS occasionally. Go to Wal-Mart, pay five bucks (it's in the budget bin) and get the Christopher Walken SNL disc. It has this skit and shows why, as well as Alec Baldwin, he can say at any time that he wants to host, and he gets to.

I have the fallout, and the phial, but Ozzie doesn't have his yellow ? above his head. Anyone else having this problem?

OK, i'm stuck as well. I tried to get a chat bubble from his leg, but that didn't work, i have the fallout and the phial and I just got it, so it's still good. quest log shows complete....any ideas?

Edit: GM said "yes there are problems with the quest....blah, blah, blah" So hopefully they will get it fixed soon, before it's grayed out lol!

Channeling the collection is delayed but not broken by damage. This means that stealthy classes can make their way in, collect the fallout, kill the slime, then hearth out. I did it as a level 32 druid with no troubles (though I had to bash and throw on a quick heal at one point).

In case you're having trouble with nothing off the lurkers and horrors, you can get the sample from the Irradiated Slime.

Travel to Gnomeregan and bring back High Potency Radioactive Fallout. Be warned, the fallout is unstable and will collapse rather quickly.

Ozzie will also require your Heavy Leaden Collection Phial when the task is complete.

Not only was your sample insufficient in quantity, it was also impure.

What we require is more green glow. The troggs are obviously not irradiated sufficiently to fulfill our needs. You will have to go into Gnomeregan and bring back some radioactive fallout, straight from the tap. I am speaking of the irradiated slimes, lurkers and horrors. Be warned, the containment of this type of fallout is difficult. You may need to make several attempts with the phial until a suitable sampling is recovered.
