Grab your fishing poles, the WoW Classic Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza is here for the first time on Sunday, April 19th! The WoW Classic Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza takes place every Sunday between 2-4pm (14:00-16:00) server time, allowing players to catch special fish which can be turned in for prizes until 5pm (17:00) server time.
We have prepared a guide to the STV Fishing Extravaganza outlining the event mechanics as well as tips and tricks to improve your chances of winning, ranging from character preparation to optimizing your fishing strategy during the event.

Master Angler
(and winning the tournament) awards a choice of one of 2 prizes. Both are Bind on Pickup:
Arcanite Fishing Pole
- This is the very best fishing pole in the game and is usable at Fishing Level 300. It gives you +35 to fishing, which makes it incredibly valuable for fishing up difficult-to-catch fish in places such as the coast of Azshara.
Hook of the Master Angler
- This trinket turns you into a fish and gives both water breathing and increased speed under water.
There are also three rare fish you can catch and turn in to
Fishbot 5000
, which yield great fishing-related prizes as well, especially for twinks.

Grab your fishing pole (and your sword)—the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza is about to get underway along the coasts of Stranglethorn Vale! Early on the appointed day, friendly neighborhood goblins will visit Ironforge and Orgrimmar to inform aspiring anglers of the grand tournament and give instructions on how to participate. At the appropriate time, a shout will ring out across Stranglethorn to bait your hooks and cast your lines!
