My level 36 Hunter friend absolutely loves this weapon, although by looking at the stats it seems more like the kind of weapon for a Warrior.

It took me 9 tries to get this. I think it dropped 3 or 4 out of those 9 times. The first time I rolled a 38 and didn't win. The 2nd time a stupid mage rolled and won, even though i told the whole group (which were rougue's and mages) not to roll because they could not use it. The 3rd time the whole group rolled again(!) (group was mage, rogue, rogue, hunter and me)...even though I asked them not to roll. But THIS TIME I WON with a roll of 80. I was very happy (and lucky). The mage in our group rolled a 68....i would have been PI$$ED if she would have won. Why don't people listen? Why would you roll on an item you cannot use? I told them before we started that i had tried 8 times to get Thermas Arm...and she said "I will make sure you get it this time." But she ended up rolling on it along with the rest of the group (who were all the same guild and 2 of them were lvl 40+ and had much better weapons). I feel so lucky that i rolled higher than all of them. I didn't want to go back a 10th time.

I got this axe 1st run of the instance. I managed to get all my quests done and kill therma with 3 other guildies. the hunter that groped with us told me he was rtooling on it, even though this is was the only item i needed from gnomer. Luckily, i got a 75, got got a 60. PHEW!

Nice axe btw, im 31 so i cant use for 1 lvl, but its probably best for this level next to WhirlWind (which im working on)

I'm sorry for those of you that got hosed. I learned the hard way on a pick up grp months ago. There was a gnome mage in my grp that apologized for "accidently" rolling on BOP items, then de'ing them. I booted him after the second item, flamed the hell out of him when I got back to IF and haven't seen him since. I try to only do dungeons with guys that i know and trust, but can't always be helped. It also helps when your party leader uses master looter to avoid the greed rolls. One thing that helps is to have an enchanter in the group. When a BOP item drops that nobody can use, roll for the shard. That way everyone is happy.

Very good item for warriors and pallys, very good actually, sell it to a venodor if your not one of those most likely you should just sell it to a vendo cause you cant trade and auction it.

I'm a paladin who has not trained 2h axes yet, planing to do so though, this thing dropped when i did this quest with a pickup group. The loot was set to need before greed, since i were the only paladin/warrior in the group and i had not trained axes yet the axe wasnt rolled for and thus the mage looted it 3sec after the boss bit the dust. This has happend before and im starting to avoid mages now. In my my experience it has always been mages never rogues! No offens guys but mages are easily over represanted as loot hogs in my experience anyway.

6 Gnomer runs and no axe. Yet, there has been a bunch of crappy rings.

I think it would work well for a Shammy. To the Hunter below though, I REALLY hope you didn't get that over a Warrior or Paladin. Strength on a Hunter? ...

Mages always want all the loot, they just roll on stuff even if they cant even DISENCHANT it! They can be really helpful, or a huge pain. They roll on everything, even the BOP stuff they cant use and would be no use to them anyways. They will roll on like axes and armor lol. They think they are so amazing because they can do tons of damage. If a mage rolls on an item he/she can't use, BOOT EM'.Best way to solve the problem, just BOOT.

I went on a Gnomeregan this afternoon, we fought Thermalugg and he dropped that. I told everyone to not roll unless they could equip but they didnt listened. The mage rolled a 92...And I rolled a 100

I'm so happy. This Weapon rocks

How much better did this get with version 1.8? The speed is much less than the new 2h modifier now.

I'm a Paladin and I was initally pleased with this. Although SoC hardly procs enough to make up for the lack of damage. For warriors you'd get poor MS crits.

This was just till I got Bonebiter off SM quest.

First run, got this to drop. And a freaking hunter wins it. WTF? I like hunters, I have one, but I'm an enhancement shammy, and not only did I have to MH the stupid place, our warrior left just before the final boss and I had to MT him too. Just ridiculous. Now I'm gonna have to run Gnomer again, cause I want this thing.

Seems Mages REALLY like this weapon. I was playing my alt warrior in a group for Gnomer. After many deaths caused by bad hunter pulls, and a priest that didnt want to heal (all this my fault for some reason) we get to the boss, barely manage to beat him.

The Axe drops, Mages outrolls me by 3. About 10 seconds later. ***** receives loot Large Brilliant Shard. Asshat.

I did gnomer with a group of 5, I told them all that this is what I wanted,and it dropped, Everyone passed , it was amazing really allience miracle.

Picked it up on the first time I fought him. Use it now but I have leveling up weapon skills, such a pain. I didn't like my polearm so I liked this weapon. Ran Gnomer with a some 60 friends, boy I love them. Also got some blue gun on the run too, sold it for 20g.

this isnt worth the trouble for us warriors, just get whirlwind axe from class quest. higher dmg, higher dps, high stats, complete win. i would only pick this up if i didnt have ww axe yet, or werent a warrior. and if you are horde, which rarely goes to gnomer, skip it completly. SM has 2 better 2hs.
