Lvl 30 shaman (made 31 non way in) tried solo last night. Re-spawn rate inside cave is insane. Only got 2 crates destroyed before harpies were re-spawning. Twice cleared area around crates (1 + an add) 3rd re-spawn was 3 harpies near the crates also 2 destroyed crates were whole again. Never got to Grenka. Decided to wait and do again with help. Did notice that if you stay in back corner near crates you weren't attacked. Not sure if attack on Grenka would BAF or not.

wow i really couldnt do this as a 32 shaman im pretty built and i had the buff which gives you 40 increased movement speed and 30% increased attack speed... and even with that + windfury i couldnt take on those adds.. yea dude you're right you might need a small group, so shammys dont try this alone!

I cleared all the cave on my own.. the WHOLE cave, and no dudes droped the quest item, i tryed the boxes at the end, and only 2 mobs (bugged) came, they keep evading and attacking and evading an attacking) but i got em down, and still no quest item.. and then the whole cave respwaned and i died, :S no dude with quest item ;S

To be honest i don't know what all the fuss is about. If anyone happens to be reading some of these comments don't let it put you off. Just because someone else had problems it doesn't mean you will. I completed this quest with relative ease. i didn't die at all but came close to it and i did this as a level 32 shaman.
I could understand why a spell wielder would have problems as you do get silenced quite often which made it annoying to heal.
I'm sure if you go with a tank and a healer it could be done easily as i did it alone and was successful.
Don't listen to the newbies who moan that quests are too hard or take too long. I mean come on wake up its a quest, not some errang like running round to the shops for some milk for your mum.
Here is a defination of "quest":

'A search for something, usually a long or difficult journey.'

So don't moan just get on with it. If you don't like it you don't have to do it. WoW is such a big place there are thousands of quests. Why moan about one when you can leave it and do another if it is too ahrd for you?

First off, went in solo, 28 hunter with decent tank pet, you will get to the boss area without much trouble but these things come out of nowhere the whole trip. Then you have about six of these harpies silencing you and keeping you from doing a thing at the end. When you bust open the boxes more come. At that point I got help from a 30 mage. She busted open all three boxes and the treasure chest (don't ya love greedy grouping) and they came in droves. Original six respawned while in no time while new ones showed up. This was murder. Pet went down and it was all down hill from there. Allmost imposible to res in there and harder still just to get back to your body and get out to try again from a calm area. Still haven't beat it, questioning value of quest vs. time spent.

Im Omw 2 1k needles im druid cant i just prowl kill boss HS and fly 2 1k needles again?

This should be done in a group, I managed to solo it as a 31 warrior after dying once, and a hunter could surely do it, but casters can forget it due to the silencing screech.

You can't stealth in and kill Grenka cause she's not there. You have to clear the cave, then destroy ONE AND ONLY ONE box. The waves of harpies will start coming, with Grenka in the 3rd or 4th wave.

If you die, there will be harpies all over the place, but you can sometimes rez without agroing more than one at the far side of the pit.

G'day

Heads up you cannot stealth in and kill Grenka. You need to open a box at the end of the cave then clear 3-4 waves of 2-3 mobs each with Grenka being in the last wave.

I recommend a group or wait till your a few levels higher. Tried on a few alts and the other mobs in the cave respawn before you kill grenka unless you have higher dps. Little time in between waves for eating/drinking or mending pet. Then you have to fight you way out of cave due to respawns.

There is a treasure chest in there but never received any green or blue items.
