Really low droprate, sometimes takes hours to drop for some people, I've gotten relatively lucky when I've done this quest though.

the drop rate on the site is different cause that mob has been killed that many times. But it has been killed most of those times by people who aren't killing them for the quest. I got it on the 10th kill so the drop rate isn't too horrible.

Five runs to clear out my bags, I have no idea of how many times I have killed *everybody* there, two levels, and that was from 21 to 23. Stupid fubar quest.

The odd thing is that every time I tried this quest when I was playing horde, I got the emerald in 5-20 kills.

Every quest where you have to get 1 item is fubar.

I feel so lucky only to kill them about 20 times.. After reading your guys posts i feel bad for the people who it took trips to get i personaly wouldn't have minded to much having to waste hours killing their i need the wool they drop :D

I have killed more than 200 of them, and it didn't drop.. Very low drop percent and i'm abandoning the quest now.. To everyone else: Don't farm it :)

I got it out of the 2nd one i killed, let me make this clear, u do NOT have to go in that cave sorta place just kill the enemy's out side there.

Don't loose heart you will get it eventually!

I just cleared the cave, and the entire grounds... still no drop, but sadly this is the only quest that's yellow and i'd like to get it done

One character I got it first kill - second it took about 10~12.

emerald dropped on 4th npc. didn't have to enter mine, just went around towards the left (west) side staying near the hill, pulling one at a time.

4th char im doing this one.... each time i needed about 100 kills and no drops... everytime i logged, came back later. got it on 1st kill.

450 huh... seems like that alone would get u to a higher lvl than 17

Can anybody give rough co-ordinates to where these Enforcers and Overseers are? Cause I've searched far and wide...

Go to the boulderlode mine, NOT the Sludge Fen. Loc is 61,5. If the drop rate is truly bad, then I must have gotten lucky or you were at the wrong place.

I did this today as a 16 shaman got the emerald on about the 10th enforcer. :)

This was extremely easy to get - once I understood what asanarama
Scholar pointed out. I killed probably 15 of the enforcers and 4 overseers outside the mine, to no avail but some good experience. The first enforcer I killed who was within the mine, however, dropped the emerald. This could just be coincidence, but.... It makes sense to me. Maybe this will help.

Wow I don't usually complain, but I've been killing them for about 2 hours now and still haven't gotten a drop.

I've tried to get one of these on more than one character and more than one server. I finally got one while killing the guys in the mine to get samophlange manual pages after getting the binder. Maybe the idea is that the guy found it while mining, so only the ones inside the mine drop it.

If you make a dumb mistake and die in the cave like I did, you are sent to the Spirit Healer outside of the Crossroads, be ready for a long run.

Just abandoned the quest. I spent a few hours farming the mobs, went up 1.5 levels and still no drop. Died a few times not paying attention in the cave and got boxed in with mobs. For what it felt like it was worth it was not worth the time I was putting in. Moved on and I’m now happier and sane

First character doing this quest, it dropped first kill. Second, well, let's just say the RNG gods have not been kind so far.

At ~100xp per kill, if the quest rewards 1700xp, and it takes more than 17 kills, there's no point in continuing to try to get it to drop, IMO.

Over 8 characters, I completed the quest with 97 enforcers and 66 overseers killed. Assuming that the mobs share the quest drop, on average I had to kill 20 mobs to get the emerald to drop.

JUST KILL IN THE MINE.

Outside the mine, slew prolly 15-20 or so... nothin'.

In the mine only had to fell like 3-(maybe)4... dropped.
