Is this actually any good? I guess it depends on your cast speed to some degree.

If you manage to get it's full benefit it's about 620 damage every 2 minutes.
However, that's only possible if you manage to get 8+ spells off in the 15 second window this trinket gives.
If you do, that's roughly equivalent to +15 spell damage.

It's fine... but really a very small upgrade over most the earlier trinkets.

Keep in mind, if you use this and then only cast 3 second casts or higher, most of the time you'll only get about 400 of its damage off in your 15 second window so that brings the rough equivalent damage bonus to +10.

Long story short - it's very mid and worth somewhere between +10 and +15 spell damage

As a mage, the only way I can justify this trinket is if I time it with Scorch spam at the start of a fight or, if playing Frost, at the same time as Icy Veins to try get at least 6 spells off in the 15 sec window window.
May as well just stick with your BFD trinket as at least you get some protection lol -_-
The melee version is probably even worse :p

If I were to rebalance this I'd give it something minor as a flat bonus, like +10 int.
