You will then be able to pick up Quadrangulation from Scootie in Booty Bay.

I did some kills with another player. It only drops for the one already on Salvaging the Salvagematic, and you can't master loot it to the player without the quest (or atleast that was the case for us as I had one in bags, could take another one, and 3rd one dropped only for in free-for-all).

BEWARE of deleting this thinking you can loot it later. I needed room in my inventory and quest log to do Incursions--thanks for designing something with 18 unique quests and 36 unique items, Blizzard. In the version of wow with the most limited quest log and bag space, no less.

Tried killing Techbot again multiple times. I can never complete the quest now. FYI I am on "Warranty Claim" and "Salvaging the Salvagamatic" quest. So the game probably assumes since I'm on that I must have the core.
Have a ticket to fix it, but we'll see of that goes anywhere.
