I've had this for a couple days now - seems like the proc is really bad; maybe 1 proc per 5 mobs or so. Make sure to put Fiery on it - it's nice to have the extra burst damage. :)

Was wonderin if this sword would be good for a fury warrior i currently duel weild sm and rfd swords but thinking about switchin to 2hd but its speed is a little high so i was wonderin if ne one has ne comments i would love to hear them

This weapon is nice, proc is about 1/6 hits. Crits for 300+, which is nice, especially when Seal of Command procs with it. Done over 1400 damage with this crit, SoC crit, and weapon Crit, dropped off a Raptor in STV.

I had it drop at ZF...funny story. Me and my buddy were in ZF right around theka the martyr, and we always went past the graves w/o opening them. well we decided to open them this time. Im a hunter... (Just through that out cause people always seem to want to know.)

Was out soloing in Tanaris, for the night. Working my way through the desert. It dropped off a blisterpaw hyena. Couldn't decide wether to use it or keep it. But figure since I was a hunter with all my talent points in markmanship, a melee weapon is not all that beneficial to me. So put it up on the AH and sold it for 238G.

Unexpected because I did not expect to ever see an epic drop while soloing, especially off a non-elite creature. Just thought I would share.

Weapon should not be all the useful to hunters unless you get it right at level 39. Right now using Bonebiter, which seemed to me that would be almost the same trade off damage-wise for any hunter, with talent points in marksmanship.

I got mine for 55gold on the stormrage server, and to be honest i think it was a great buy. I got it enchanted with fiery wepaon, and it was great. I used mine right up till i was level 48, from whcih i got Taran Icebreaker, which i think is very close to the nightblade.
Overall i think it is a very nice weapon, i think warrior/pally would be best suited with this ;)

Well, This sword is simply awesome.

I never managed to get Pendulum of Doom (not once ever seen it in AH) But I dont care anymore. In 30-39 wsg this thing owns. As I predicted it hit's nearly as hard as the Whirlwind axe & it hit's ALOT more often. I threw a +7 damage on it & always keep it sharpened with +6 which brings it up to Whirlwind top end damage. crits with heroic & overpower for anywhere between about 400-600, non crit normal swings about 190-230.

Quiet often I charge in & hit then hamstring, if the proc goes off & your hit crited, the fight is almost over before you even check if your hamstring wasn't dodged or missed :-)

I love this sword & although I'm loving wsg with this & in no hurry to lvl to 40, I can just imagine what it will be like when I hit 40 & respec for Mortal Strike 8-O

Found this on my newest server Aerie Peak (2 months old) and sold for 195g.

I bought one on my last server, Vek'nilash (6 months old) for 150g. Auctioneer estimated it to be about 300g, but I couldn't even get my money back and I eventually sold it a few months later for 90g. At the time there were like 4-5 of these in the AH everyday, nobody ever wanted them.

Bottom line is: It's a great sword, but only a gold buyer has the money to actually want this for a premium price right before they can buy a mount. Get rid of it fast, because in my experience the market isn't interested in this epic after the gold-buyers level.

The only other way you'll get rid of this for a worthwhile price is if you're on an old server where someone actually wants to twink the 30-39 bracket. It's a great sword, but hardly end-game worthy, and therefore really not worth paying "epic prices" for it.

try to get this sword when your lvl 38 so right when you level you can use it. and get a firey enchant, that way your proc'n shadow damage and fire damage pretty frequently... which owns things in the lvl 39 killing range... this sword owns.

a nightblade is a good level 39 twink weapon and i learned my lesson buying it at level 42. i regret buying it but at the same time admire how cool it is. no stats which kinda sucks but has good DPS and a good effect. my advice to you would be if you're a 39 warrior twink. Buy it. if you're a 41 wannabee twink like me. save your money for better weapons later. just my opinion

My twink has got this Nightblade.
I crit like 550+ unbuffed. Powerbuffed: 750.
But I think the weapon named: Pendulum of Doom (4sec weapon, lvl 39), is stronger for a warrior because of it's Slam Specialization, you cast Slam in like 0,5 sec. Slam spec is in Beserker Skill Tree.

This dropped for me from a Firemane Scalebane in Duskmallow Marsh while doing some quest with a friend. Both of us being Druids we greed rolled for it. He rolled 82, I rolled 100. It looks like I'm the only one from WoWReader that this has happened to. Anyways a couple hours later Another Epic dropped for while farming scalding whelps a Bow of Searing Arrows dropped. Talk about a good night. These are the only two epic that have EVER dropped for me so far.

I just had my highest crit ever with this beast. Here's the story: I'm a lvl 42 Tauren Warrior in WSG. A lvl 49 Rogue attacks me. Its one on one but at that level I figure I'm dead. Amazingly though I'm doing quite well. Hes jumping around doing the rogue shuffle and I'm using all my talents to keep him slow. Eventually I'm at half health and he is alot lower. Execute becomes available so I do what I always do when it is available: Hit my laugh macro (gotta make em scared don't ya?), hit stomp, line him up, and hit execute. Normally they drop, sometimes not but I was not prepared for what happened next. Crit for 1708! Yes, 1708! I had to look 2 or 3 times just to make sure. I can only imagine what the poor rogue thought. But whatever he thought, he thought it from the grave yard. :) I have a lvl 60 twinked hunter so I'm used to high crits but I've never got a 1708 before. This 2h was well worth the 80g I paid for it on Kargath. I also put fiery on it but it really doesn't seem necessary. :)

I have a 34 warrior on darkspear that was a major twink at 29 and was very well geared. I haven't had to buy any new gear at all since then and haven't had any problems at all with the gear that i have. I want to do the same thing at 39 and im thinking about getting the nightblade with crusader on it to make sure my presence is known at level 39. I'm just wondering if it would be worth it or if i should just settle for my whirlwind sword and get an enchant on that

Got this in an Uldaman run, but I already have a Blanchard's Stout with firey on it and I'm very close to using that, so I plan on selling this.

NOTE:

If you are level 42+ and you get this sword, I recommend selling it and buying a Blanchard's Stout (depending on your current weapon, of course.) It is very close to your level and has same damage, but better stats. Just my two cents.

This would work perfectly with a 30-39 PvP twink otherwise.

this is no hunter weapon, hunters should never have to melee, and this has no stats.
and this is way better than whirlwind axe, whirlwind is only good till like lvl 38 then u should vendor/disenchant it

This is by far the best 30-39 weapon there is after using it at that level for a year. There is a 4.00 speed axe at 39 with 187 damage but this is better, I tried every weapon there was and none came remotely close to how this thing performed. Proc rate I would say is just uncommon, never something you should hope for but a little help here and there and enough to splatter a gnome all over the place. found me one of these in the ogre caves in Badlands. Put on Ah for 100g bid 200g buyout at about 10 at night. By teh next morning there was a bid for 100g, and by about 5 o'clock the next day, somebody bought it out for 200g. this made MY month.

If you've ever tried to get the mats for crusader on Kargath you will understand why I chose to do fiery. My lvl 300 enchanter has the ability to do crusader but without the mats... Fiery rocks just as hard.

... at level 48... Of course, I was and am really happy, since this is my first epic drop, and my previous two handed sword was the Whirlwind Sword. Theka the Martyr from Zul'Farrak dropped it, and since there was noone else able to use it in my party, I won it with a need roll. I just wish it had dropped several levels earlier :) Oh, and I'm using it, didn't sell it, I think there's no great need for money before having to buy item sets.

I was on my 58 shaman farming green dragonscales in Swamp of Sorrows--on my server, a complete Green Dragonscale armor set can sell for well over 100g--and this dropped off the very first 40-something dragonkin mob I downed: dragonkin of SoS are not even on the list of possible mobs! It's my second epic drop ever, and as I don't play any warriors and the paladin in my guild already has a better epic sword, this went straight to my bank alt for my riding lessons fund.

well i found mine in STV ( Strangle thorn vale ) and its off those zombie guys near the arena, apparently there is a 1 in 140,000 chance it will drop so i was like WOW! lol

Sold it for 80g, sold it in less then 5 min doing a shout in AH so i suggest asking for more money if that happend. Im sure you could get 150g out of a keen buyer.

u know what works best with this my lvl 44 hunter has one of these i bought it for 78g and i got a icy chant all so i have one of those sexy icemail jerkins now with that and my nightblade enchanted with ice all so all my gear has either stam or stren increase i have crited around 1.3k but with chants enimies can not move a dam muslce they hit me get froze i hit them they freze and with that sword it only takes a couple hits and they bleeding on floor like a little lvl 1 chicken in sw,

i solo with my set up in searing gorge and have done the quest where u burn down towers with that cool staff at lvl 41 i done that and lvled to 44 :)

dont fancy grinding to get the drop though i just grinded to get the cash :)

Got this when me and my 41 shaman friend were out questing off a Crocolisk off the shore of Swamp of Sorrows, me, being a rogue, had no use for it as anything more than a fast way to get mount cash, I won the roll, my friend was of course disappointed, and a guildie offered to to buy it for 100g after I linked what I just won, then went and bought my mount, I was 37 at the time.

This is an amazing weapon for 30-39, my war has one, ripping ^&*! apart does not even BEGIN to describe it, Exalted with WSG now and almost revered with AB, and all thanks to this, I do however wanna try the Pendulum of Doom, 4.00 speed axe, 197 top end damage I think. If weapon damage does effect execute so be it or not, I've landed a 1641 damage execute with sayge's damage fortune and the WSG buff, full rage, and a crusader proc. Either way, this weapon and the Axe decimate. I'm Execution on Shadowsong if anyone ever wants some or has any questions.

Caught one of these bad boys in ZF, first run through, first time ever through. Nightblade dropped close to the first boss (Antu'sul I think), everyone passes and rolls. I win with a roll of 98, next was 94. Close one! Currently selling it on Bloodscalp for 80ish G, ask Reisa about it.

I picked one up in STV last week. I believe it was dropped by a Naga Explorer in the Ruins of Aboraz.

I got it at a great time. I'm a lvl 37 and trying to save up money for when I hit lvl 40 so I can buy a mount. I only had about 40g saved. Sold this puppy to a buyer in IF for 70g. I tried three times to sell it on the AH with no luck.

I saw it in the AH for 7.0g, I ^&*! you not. We're a new server so wow, anyway, I'm a 45 warrior so I'm just going to resell it, but that's going to be one nice profit turn! :)

First learned of this Blade when i duelled this "Dirty Danes" @#$%^ ....... i had never lost (yes never) a duel with anyone before , unless more than 3 lvls above me, she beat me about 12 times in a row , and i beat her once , before thinking i better take a look at that weapon , and voila , a lvl39 !@#$ had the weapon which caused my repeated demise , and now i want it like anything , just so id track her down and beat her to the ground till she deletes her WoW account.

Chances of a drop dont seem too great though :$

...is just when my friend were commenting that "why don't these maggots drop epics?" for the fun of it, a Maggot dropped this for me :D We were doing some quests in The Temple of Atal'Hakkar. No, we tried his comment on various other maggots there but none other epics dropped :D

ive been looking at this sword for a while and i was wondering if it was worth the money? It goes for about 150-200g on my server

The damage this does for a low level weapon is insane. My level 44 Fury warrior was using this after a guildie won it and didn't want to use it. I got crusader put on it and I'm ripping through enemies left and right. Got from level 41 to 44 in one night by just grinding with this beast.

But I have to say: DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU ARE ARMS SPEC

The weapons top end damage isn't that great for MS warriors.

Bought it as level 60 rogue for 20gold from another level 60 player. all he said to me was "gl". One week later I sold it to another level 60 for 40g xD

This sword is absolutely nutty on arms warrior, the shadow bolts can proc off your cleaves, whirlwind, and sweeping strikes and hit multiple opponents at once, and they also proc very often. Its so nutty that I have a lot of issues with pulling threat off the tank during my AoE rotations. It also synergizes very well with the sword specialization talent. Pop a nice enchant of your choice (+7 weapon damage for me) and youre good to go, crusader costs an arm and a leg in righteous orbs.
